“I don’t get it.”
Odd, but yes, this promo opens up the same ways as Andrews. We’re even in a weight room where we find Venom wearing a pair of training shorts and a tank top. He’s looking down as he talks at JFK who is lying on the bench press slowly lifting the bar up and down. He lifts the bar and sets it down as he answers Venom.
“What don’t you get?”
“I don’t get how in the hell I’m the bad guy when these so called “good guys” like Andrew Jacobensen are claiming I’ve said things that I’ve never said. It’s really starting to tick me off. It’s like we’re politicians in some cheap slur campaign.
“Just forget about it. He’s just trying to pump himself up, now get your mind straight and spot me. I don’t want to get injured like that kid from USC.”
JFK lies back down and continues his reps but Venom just keeps going on.
“You don’t understand man. I have to cut a promo about this kid but I just don’t get it. I don’t know where he’s getting all this **** from. I didn’t even know he called me out until you told me and apparently I cost him a match on Trauma without even being there.”
The camera cuts from Venom towards JFK’s face as he is grinning from ear to ear.
“Now I’m stuck in a match with this kid, which is no big deal, but I didn’t even know who he was before this and now he’s talking like he’s my biggest rival in the company.”
Venom shakes his head.
“On top of all of that he’s claiming I’ve said I’m the future of this company. I haven’t even said I’m a future Champion in this company! How could I have even said I’m the future of this company? If that’s not enough he claims we’re trying to take over the company. Where the hell are people getting that from? Because we want to be the best? Who doesn’t want to be the best in the company they work for? I don’t know what to say to this dumb kid!”
JFK sets the weight back down and sits up. He looks around the gym as people are starting to take notice and shakes his head.
“Look, just don’t worry about this now you’re going to make your migraine thing worse by stressing over this ****. Let’s just finish our workout and when we get back to the locker room I can fill you in on AJ and you can fill be in on DDK.”
Venom nods his head as he breathes slowly and we fade out…and fade back in on the balcony of a hotel room. It’s a bright day in Detroit as the sun shines down on Venom. He’s leaned against the railing of the balcony as he soaks in the sunshine as he stands there in his blue jeans and Joe Everyman “Got Potato” T-Shirt. He smiles as his notices the camera and stands upright.
You’ve got to enjoy the sun while it lasts in this part of the country. You never know what you’re going to get weather wise in these parts. There are still puddles on the ground from yesterday and today the sun is shinning bright like it’s the middle of August.
We’re not here to talk about the weather though; we’re here to talk about Reborn. It’s a fitting pay per view for me because in the current funk I am in that is exactly what I need to be, reborn. What better way to start then to take on and take out the “future face of NCW” in the form of Andrew Jacobensen?
Venom smiles and nods his head yes before continuing.
Andrew, I watched and I listened closely to your promo this week. I even went back and looked at your promo’s from the weeks passed. I examined and dissected everything you’ve said and I came up with one major fault of yours. You have no confidence. You believe in yourself, but your confidence wanes with the words of the media. Just look at yourself in your last promo AJ. Look at how your self confidence drops when you talk about what others are saying about you. You quickly recover and claim you belong here, but the doubt is obviously in your head. I don’t want that doubt AJ. I don’t want that lack of self confidence in your head as you walk down that ramp Sunday. I want the man that stole the show at A Night to Remember. I want the two time X-Division Champion. What I don’t want is the man who is distracted just because music plays in the middle of a match.
He laughs as he thinks about the Trauma main event of this past week.
Just so you know AJ, I had nothing to do with that. What happened on Saturday is what happens when you have a wife with a lot of money and the feminine wiles to get what she wants. So you can send your hate mail about that match to Christina Karn instead of my Andrew.
He continues to laugh and soon shakes his head to get himself back on track.
Your lapses in confidence aside, you had quite a bit to say about me this week, and unlike me, you don’t seem to do your homework. You came out firing about me claiming to be the future and claiming to want to take over the company like you know me. The problem with that is simple, I’ve never said any of that, nor do I believe any of that. What I do believe is that you’re jealous AJ. I believe that you watched as the world of NCW buzzed as each of us joined or returned to NCW. I believe that you watched as each of us rose to main event shows here in just three months time. I believe that when we joined together and the headlines began to be dominated by us you got jealous and couldn’t help but stick your nose in. That’s why you stuck your nose in about my little comments about the Knitelife column and that’s why now you’re trying to pick fights with each of the Young Guns one by one.
Wait though; I just seemed to remember something you said. Now, this is a rough quote from memory but I believe you said that you’d be ecstatic if you never had to deal with the Young Guns again but since I’m here you’ll have to take care of me. Is that right AJ? Really? Isn’t it you who asked for this match? Isn’t it you who called Velez out and when the brass wouldn’t give you a shot at the National Championship called me out? Pardon me for being just slightly confused AJ, but what kind of sense does that make? None, you just say it because you think that it will hide your true intentions, to make a name for yourself at the expense of the hottest group out there right now. It’s ok AJ, you can just come out and admit it because it’s a good plan. Facing a Young Gun is like being in a title match because you know everyone will be watching, even if it is on a webcast.
He lets out a small chuckle.
I’m sorry if I keep laughing at your expense AJ, but it’s just all so funny to me. Your comments about me that I’ve never said and your schizoid nature all just make me laugh. It makes me second guess the comments Kelly Knite made about you being the future of this company. Which, since you asked, I don’t mind at all. You can be considered the future of this company AJ. You can be considered the “Next big thing” to everyone out there on the World Wide Web. It doesn’t bother me at all because while you’re gearing up to be the future I am gearing up to be the here and now. I am preparing to make a run at the World Championship before the year ends while you can plot winning it at some point down the road, and I hope you accomplish it so that you can say you followed in my footsteps.
You would never say that though would you? No, because you hate me. You’re going to show no mercy on me in the ring. You’re not going to be courteous to me in the ring. No, you’re going to be relentless and do anything to win the match because you have nothing to lose. News flash bud, this is a wrestling match. If you weren’t relentless and were courteous to me in the ring I’d kick you in the face and pin you in the quickest match in history. This is the wrestling industry kid, if you want kind and courteous go to the local restaurant and hope for a good waitress because you’re not getting it here. Here you’ll be lucky if I sign you’re autograph after the match.
He winks and smiles as we fade out.
