“A tragic act of violence mars the city of San Antonio, as Father Lutero Sapienza was found dead in the Virgén de Guadalupe church early Saturday. He was 54. Police currently are speculating that the crime was committed by a group of extreme Satanists, as the church's cross was found torn down, with the victim tied to it using strands of barbed wire in a pose suggestive of a crucifixion. The investigation is currently ongoing. If you have any information which might lead to the apprehension of those responsible, please contact the San Antonio Police Department at...”

The police have cordoned off the church. Rain falls outside, bringing down sheets of liquid on the building, the police officers surrounding it, and anything nearby...including the man who sits across the street, head buried in his hands. He watches through his fingers as the body is taken out of the building under a sheet and loaded into the ambulance on-scene. The vehicle drives off, the man's head sinking even lower. This is punctuated by a crack of thunder which causes some of the policemen on duty to flinch. One of them looks over to one of his compatriots, indicating the man with his free hand.
“Hey, check it out. Some masked guy's over there. Think the jumping bean was one of the padre's flock? Might be worth it to question him. You do it.”
The officer groans, nodding and walking across the road to the man. He taps him on the shoulder, pulling out his badge and flashing it at him.
“Hey, buddy. My name's Paul Harris, San Antonio PD. I'd like to speak to you in connection with the death of Father Lutero Sapienza. Anything you can share with us regarding the victim and who might have had cause to do this? Hey, pal, I'm talking to you. Oh, what, you don't speak no English?”
The man looks up, instantly revealed to be Tempestad. He looks at the officer, tears blending with the rain falling all around them. He chokes back some of his tears, shaking his head.
“He was my father...”
His head drops again and he begins sobbing uncontrollably. The officer just nods and pats him on the shoulder again.
“Hey, I gotcha. I'll let you just...y'know, work things out. My old man got offed by some jackass who was robbing the local 7-11, so...I know. See you around then.”
He turns, walking back across the street, but pauses halfway back, turning as he speaks.
“Hey, ain't you that Tempestad fella I see on...”
He trails off as he sees that Tempestad has vanished, leaving nothing but the bench he sat on and the rain behind. Harris blinks, rubbing his eyes and resuming his walk over. He calls to his partner for some coffee as we fade out.

“I had something once more. I had a father who loved me and was proud of me. I had a woman who loved me and cared for me. For once, I thought I was going to be able to rise above my past and become what I have always sought to be...someone who could inspire people for the better. But then, as it always does, the cruel hand of Fate reached out and swatted me out of my delusion. I was brought back down to Earth by a senseless act of violence, just as I was last time. This time, however...I have to live with the knowledge that the one who has inflicted this pain on me is not just someone who I considered family...it IS family. Because I can deny that no longer. She is my sister, underneath all of the changes that have been wrought to her. And it is my sister that has robbed me of this...this chance at normalcy, at redemption. That I lay square at your feet, Sephiroth. You influenced her, changed her way of thinking. At her core she is still the same person, but you made her this way. And you have once again taken something from me that I care about. Well no more, you heartless son of a bitch. No more will I allow you to deny me.”
“Your masses of fans choose to ignore the monster that you are because they think that you are just another performer trying to cash in on the vampire craze that has swept the world recently. I know better. I know you are no act, and that every word and deed of yours is completely authentic. That makes it somewhat relieving, in a way. If you were a man, that you could do these things and feel not a shred of remorse would be so much more frightening than accepting the idea that a soulless monstrosity, a twisted parody of what a man is did that. I can only console myself now with the fact that my father is in Heaven now, receiving his final reward from the Lord for his faith and service. You will not be so lucky when you finally pass, Sephiroth. You will be condemned to the fires for your transgressions. And there you will burn for all eternity, perhaps only then realizing how utterly and fatally flawed you are.”
“This match transcends so much more than just a war over a title. You have taken my sister from me and made her into a twisted mockery of the woman she once was. You took that belt from me by trickery and paraded yourself around as if it was some sort of amazing accomplishment, when in reality it was a testament to your deceit. Now you have taken my father, who I had just managed to find and bring fully back into my life, and you have torn that from me. I can only hope and pray for Alicia's safety...no. I can do more than that. And even after that, you aim to take away the identity that I have made mine over these years. I will not let you. This mask is me, and I am it. To lose that would be to take away who I am...but not what I am. No matter what guise I take, I will always hold my beliefs tightly to my heart. The Lord remains my guide through this troubled world, and even moreso in a time like this.”
“I asked for you to face me in this match because I knew that you would accept. That you would demand my mask I did not, but I agreed to that because I knew that this was a chance to get you out of my life. To be able to drive you from my existence and forget about you would be one of my fondest wishes...you are so wrong. So despicable...I heard my sister calling our mother a puta and I realized that you are more than just a thug. If someone wrongs you, or you think they do...you try to DESTROY them. You try to take everything from them. Well, you can try. But I will always be able to find some handhold, something to pull myself back up from the blackest depths with. My faith is unshakeable, and with my faith bolstering me and my beloved Alicia backing me, I know that I can defeat you once and for all. I promise that I will.”
“My body can be broken. I know you will try to end my life if you get the chance. But I promise you, I will not fall. I will pick myself up after anything and keep walking on towards my goal. I will force you to fall, and you will not stand. You will be defeated, and I will be able to hoist that belt high in the air and say “Yes, I did it.” I will be able to walk away with my mask still on my face and my identity still safe. You will look on in despair as I am victorious and wonder how this can be. The answer is very simple. I am in the right. I have the Lord on my side. And I will stop at absolutely nothing. I want my retribution from you, and I will not hesitate to use everything I can to exact it. The flames? Prepare to be cast into them. Barbed wire? You'll be wearing a barbed wire JACKET by the time I get done. I am going to make this the most hellacious night of your life, and I promise one way or another you will never forget the damage I inflict on you. I want to leave scars, do you understand? I want you to suffer for every moment I have suffered. For every moment HE suffered. Do you hear me, you son of a bitch?! I WANT YOU TO FEEL WHAT I FEEL! I WANT YOU TO KNOW WHAT I DO!”
“...I know that I'm not exactly the most intimidating figure. But I promise you, Ex and Abel will seem like children compared to what I will do. There will be no excuse for you, Sephiroth. There will be no mercy. Not from me. Perhaps the Lord will find it in His compassion to forgive your transgressions...but I am not Him. I am human. I feel human emotions, and right now...I feel nothing but Wrath. My sin will be your nightmare. My anger will be your pain. You will be put through hell in the most literal sense. Say your prayers, Sephiroth. You may never get to again. Kiss Malice good night and tell Maria you love her. If I can do what I want to, they'll see you next in the hospital after I am done WRECKING you. Goodbye, Sephiroth. And good luck. You'll need it and more if you want to be able to walk away from this...”

“...hello?”
“It's Alicia. I saw the news...oh god, I'm so sorry...he was a good man. He didn't deserve to die like that. It's sick. It's sick, and it's wrong, and—”
“And I know. And I know how to make the pain go away...by making HIM feel it. An eye for an eye, Alicia. Isn't that how the street works? It used to back in my day. I'll just have to make him pay for what I feel with his well-being.”
“...I don't like the sound of that, man. You're going someplace I thought I'd never see you go. Get a grip, man. Bring yourself back from the edge. You've still got your humanity over him. Hold onto what separates the two of you. Don't lose sight of what's important. Dammit, I am NOT going to sit here and let you throw your life away because of him!”
“That's it. That's just it. He knows that he's going to provoke the beast to come out with this...but I plan on showing him that he NEVER expected this. He never wanted this. I'm going to show him why people feared me. Angelo might have been the leader of Los Perros Mal, but I was the one that everyone cowered at the mention of for a reason. I'm going to kill him, Alicia. I'm going to cut his throat and watch him bleed out onto the mat. And as he reaches up to me and screams with his last breath “Help me”...I'm going to look back down on him and whisper “No.” I'm going to make him feel my pain, Alicia! I'm going to—”
“SHUT UP! SHUT THE F*** UP! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! If you're going to be this way, then I'm not going to be able to get behind you! I know he took him from you, but you have to rise above! You're supposed to be a role model, man! What about all the kids? What will they think when they hear you saying stuff like that? It's not you. None of this is you. Listen to yourself. You sound like a psychopath. That's not the man I know and love. Now you've got to get back where you were. You have to be better than him!”
“...I...I don't know. I don't know if I can. I think he may have finally managed to push me past the edge of who I wanted to be. I'll try, though. For you and for him, I'll try. Thank you for caring, Alicia. Thank you for being here. That's more than I could have ever asked of you.”
“That's stupid. I love you, why wouldn't I be here for you to lean on? Look, I'm going to be backstage for you. I just hope you'll be able to see some sense by then. Talk to you later, baby. I love you. Get some sleep and please...just...promise me that you'll come back to us, okay? That you'll come back to who you were.”
Click. Silence for a few moments.
“...he deserves nothing...for you, father...”
