Thoughts....The game is a vast improvment over 2010, although the new controls may take a while to get used to. A found myself constantly going for pins when I wanted to pick a guy up, but, yeah very good stuff.
RTWM: Using Christian, John Cena, Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, and someone vs. Undertaker (Either Kofi Kingston, John Morrison, Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth or your CAW)
Lowdown - This is very time-consuming, but the rewards are worth it. Whichever character you choose, you are free to walk around the backstag area, with 5 or 6 locations you can interact with people backstage. You can essentially fight everyone you come in contact with (minus divas) or help them out, or ignore them, I find it amusing when people are being interviewed, you can just walk into the shot. (unfortunatly, they don't seem to care)
WWE Universe mode: The WWE has events, and you can book them, or watch as the mode goes by, and things develop over time.
Lowdown: This mode is kinda cool, and kind of dumb. I find myself turning it off, because any match you try as an "exhibition mode" will replace the first match of the show you're going to be doing.(For example, A friend of mine wanted to do a Goldberg/Lesnar (Both CAW) match, and that replaced Primo vs. Tyson Kidd) a Minor issue, but still kind of silly.
Just out of curiosity, I just simmed through an entire two years, just to see what happens Here's some highlights
- Cody Rhodes won the first Royal Rumble, and then lost to Undertaker at WM
- Brock Lesnar (CAW) and JTG formed a tag team
- Sheamus became an 8 time US Champion
- John Morrison won MITB and Cashed in on Shawn Michaels
- Vance Archer beat the Undertaker on Smackdown
- Mark Henry won the WWE title from Edge, at WM, after winning the Royal Rumble
- The Main Event of Breaking Point was Ted Dibiase vs. Yoshi Tatsu
- Kaval (CAW) won the World Heavyweight title from Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match
-Edge and Primo formed a tag team
So in short, Crazy things happen. There also small "moments" where a wrestler will be jumped during his/her entrance, a match will suddenly be falls count anywhere, other wrestlers will buy tickets to watch your match(and possibly get involved) among others But, these "moments" appear to happen at random, and cannot be triggered by any particular way that I know.
CREATE MODE
The bread and butter of this game. Create a wrestler, entrance, crowd signs, finishers, you get the jist.
-Lowdown: The only flaw I can see, is there is NO transperancy slider for most of the features, which is a pain for creating facial hair and tattoos. If you want you're caw to have tats, they will be is glorious black like someone was really skilled with permanent marker. On the plus side, the hair is much better, as they got rid of a few which have no purpose, and added some new ones, specifically for Jeff Hardy, and a long hair/ponytail combo that is more useful than the Scott Hall hair.
- There is a larger list of call names to go buy
-All attributes, and abilities are available right away, Your CAW can be a 100 overall without ever having a match.
-The New CAF location is on the turnbuckles.
-They kept the usual movesets, but added some really great and easily recognizeable ones as well.
-Entrances are pretty much the same, they didn't add or subtract any from 2010.
- Using custom themes can be a pain, for some reason they are extremely loud and I can't figure out how to lower them, So using them drowns out everything.
Online Features:
I only have an Xbox, so I don't know of PS3's features, but here we go
-DL Content
Wreslters - Undertaker's Ministry of Darkness attire, Chris Masters,
WWE Fan axxess - This is a multifold buy, if you purchase it, everything else under DLC content is free, meaning both available content now, and both DLC packs coming later on.
All Unlockables - If you don't want to play through RTWM and unlock them, you can just DL them all this way.
WWE Superstar attributes editing - You have the power to change the attributes in the game for the exisiting wrestlers. Want to make Shad 100 overall? Cena a 70? you can do it now.
- New to online wrestling is the Royal Rumble. A max of 12 users can be any wwe superstar and enter the rumble.
I will note, however, this mode is very suspect, the game will not start if too many CAWs are used, and none if too much paint tool data is there. The game also tends to freeze when the match is over.
- Community Creations: Here's another huge piece of the puzzle, CC is much better than last year, with the ability to fully edit the CAW you download. Download logos, stories, movies, screenshots, and wrestlers.
OVERALL - The game has improved by leaps and bounds over 2010. I still find that things aren't perfect, and where one improvement is made, a flaw can be found. It's sad that only Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler recorded commentary, so they are on all the shows. The RTWM's are well done, but repetitive and take a long time, even for it only being 3 months, WWE universe mode can be cool, but if you've got buddies over, turn it off.
I give it solid 8/10
*****BONUS****
I have almost the entire 50 CAW slots filled up, and will be starting to post some matches on my youtube account, mostly just matches I wanted to see, dream matches, or indy matches that yield results.
AJ Styles vs. Daniel Bryan
Roderick Strong vs. CM Punk
Kurt Angle vs. Ricky Steamboat
Owen Hart & British Bulldog vs. The Steiner Brothers
Things like that, I will be posting my first match soon, four corners match from the WCW days
Juventud Guerrera vs. Psicosis vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio
ALSO
Ricky Johnson, the CAW, is available for Download right now on XBL, just search RJ and all the stuff pops up.
If you use PS3 (and shame on you for doing so) and want to use RJ, then PM me and I'll give you the formula.
That's all from me, good fight, good night.
