This past Sunday I fought in a battle... An almost meaningless battle. A battle for nothing more than pride and bragging rights. We weren't fighting for gold. We weren't fighting for the future of out stables. We were just fighting. Despite my obvious lack of respect for my opponent, and everything he has done in this business to this date, I had atleast thought he'd give me a fair match. I had atleast thought he could honor my wish of just wrestling. He could not. Davey Ortega could not honor my wish. Davey Ortega came out and fought me alone, but in the end he still needed to cheat. He couldn't take it. Davey saw it coming. He knew Heaven's Fury was coming for him. He could feel it. Then, just as Heaven's Fury was preparing to come crashing down on top of him... He ended the match. He got himself disqualified. Why? Are you so afraid of being proven wrong Davey? You said yourself, everyone loses eventually. Sunday was your turn, again. Not mine. You knew that. You knew you were going to lose. You knew I would crush you like the annoying little insect that you are and your X-Division title aspirations would be no more. You knew with that one loss everything you've fought to build would be destroyed. So instead of just accepting your fate you have now delayed. For Heaven's Fury does not forget anything or anyone Davey. One way or another it will find you. I will find you. We will meet in the ring again. And I assure you when that time comes, you will not walk away from me. I had you beaten Davey. Even though I technically won, and even though you were not pinned... Remember this. You were unable to defeat me. I walked away. After I'm all done with Xavier and the Social Distortion, do expect me to come after you.
Now I can finally move on to Xavier Williams. My opponent this Sunday. The number one contender to the NCW X-Division Championship. My X-Division Championship. It's been along road to get here Xavier. We both fought hard. We both bled for this. The both of us gave everything we have just for this match, this weekend. All month long I've been fighting off the advances of Social Distortion. A group brought together souly to cause my down fall. I didn't realize I was so damn popular backstage. Whatever it is they promised you Xavier. Whatever it is that made you align yourself against me. It's fine. We all need to chose a side eventually. It's obvious to me, to get what you want, you need to take me down. I know the feeling well. Allot of people have been trying that my whole career. Use me as a stepping stone if it were. The only problem is, I'm not the same little bitch I was in PWW. I've found a new drive and determination in NCW. I've found a new mission, a new cause, a new title. A belt that some feel is worthless. I do not. I cherish this title. I will fight for this title. I will bring the honor and glory back to this title. Not you Xavier.
One month ago, I respected you. One month ago I looked forward to facing you. You claimed you wanted to make this belt honorable again. You claimed you wanted to increase it's value here. You claimed you were going to do all these things for the X-Division, on top of defeating me. Yet, when the time comes for the match. You stand there in a position that would lead many to think that you cannot lose. How may I ask, are you to bring honor back to this title when Tyler Jacobs is the ref? All your doing is cheapening a victory for yourself. Let's say you win, you manage to over come the "odds" and pin me. How are you going to feel knowing you couldn't do it without any assistance? We both know Tyler isn't going to call this match down the middle. Truly I don't understand you Xavier. Hopefully this weekend, you'll realize that everything you've been telling yourself and these fans is all one big lie. Your just as much of scum bag as the other members of Social Distortion.
( The scene opens up with Angel and Shelly inside of their home. Angel is wearing his Savior X t shirt, black jeans and boots. Shelly is wearing a white, short sleeved button up, and dress pants. They appear to be arguing in the living room. )
Angel: I don't know what you want from me Shelly. I give and I give, there's nothing I can even do about it.
Shelly: Nothing you can do? You can kick somebodies ass. Stop trying to be the good guy and just be your damn self.
Angel: I'm not trying to be the good guy...
Shelly: Bull****.
Angel: Shelly, please. I've tried talking to Leonard, he said he's staying out of it.
Shelly: Then he's accountable too.
Angel: What do you want? Do you want me to just kick everybody's ass, tell me!
( Angel starts to storm up the stares. )
Shelly: YOU CAN'T WIN ANGEL! All the other battles I understood. But this, this is suicide. Even if you manage to over come the over whelming odds stacked against you, they can still take your title away.
Angel: WHAT DO YOU WANT!
Shelly: I want you to win... To find a way to beat them, keep the belt, and continue your path of destruction all the way to the World Title. That's what I want...
( Angel again comes storming down the stares. He stops and looks Shelly in the eyes. She turns away. Angel storms out of the house. He jumps in his black corvette that he didn't own till a few minutes ago. He turns the radio up full blast and speeds out of the drive way....
We're not indestructible, baby better get that straight
i think it's unbelievable how you give into the hands of fate
some things are worth fighting for some feelings never die
I'm not asking' for another chance i just wanna know why
there's no easy way out there's no shortcut home
there's no easy way out giving' in can't be wrong....
We go to an image inside Angel's mind. Perhaps it's just footage edited in at this exact moment, who knows. Either way. We see black and white clips of Angel's battles over the last several months. From his cage match with Falcon, to just last week when they were standing together in the ring. The time he attacked Vertigo Dirtmurder, and Everyman made him stop. Or just last month when he destroyed Talon in one on one competition. Newer footage is shown of his tag match with Lance Ryan. Their stunning victory over Reckless Jack and Xavier Williams. Putting the final nail in the coffin of AOTR. Then this past week of Davey Ortega, and his under handed means of ending the match. We go back to Angel who is screaming down the high way at well over a hundred MPH. Singing along with the song...
I don't wanna pacify you i don't wanna drag you down
but I'm feeling like a prisoner like a stranger in a no named town
i see all the angry faces afraid that could be you and me
talking about what might have been I'm thinking about what i used to be
there's no easy way out there's no shortcut home
ther's no easy way out giving in can't be wrong....
( Angel looks to his left, where strangely enough there is a camera. )
Angel: I bet your wondering what’s with all the Rocky montages. Well all I can tell you about those is this... Their funny. At least to me.
( The cars goes screeching around a turn. )
Angel: Xavier, please tell yourself whatever you need to too fall asleep at night. Your showing me your true colors. The kind of man you really are. You talk to me about not having honor. About not fighting for anything more than myself. Then I look at you. What you have accomplished. I mean what you have accomplished on your own. By yourself you have done so very little. Yet you accuse me of so many treacheries. You act as if I am not even good enough to be in the ring with you. When have I had any help winning? When have I ever cheated to get by? When have I ever done anything except give my all in every match?
( Whipping around another right turn. )
Angel: I am, where I am, because I did it on my own. Every member of the Social Enemies got to where they are by themselves first. Then we came together. Can your group say the same? Can you even say the same?
( The car comes to a stop, probably a red light. )
Angel: You can’t. It’s a shame. I wish you really could stand on your own two feet. I wish you could come to the ring by yourself this week and give me the fight I deserve. I wish you were half the man you pretend to be. But wishing will get me no where. All I have to look forward to is my first title defense.
( The car begins to move again. )
Angel: Look forward to this match? Yeah, I’m looking forward to it. Despite everything, all the odds stacked against me. Despite Spike Kane being the enforcer. Despite Tyler Jacobs being the ref. Despite the bull**** rules. You are the underdog here Xavier. You. There is absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t be able to defeat me Sunday. It’s just too bad that you can’t. All the things going for you, and your just not going to be good enough. I’m sorry Xavier.
( Angel down shifts and goes flying through traffic. )
Angel: I know your going to take that the wrong way. But it’s a simple fact. If it pisses you off then good. I’m sure you need the motivation to get the better of me. God knows you won’t be able to take advantage of Tyler or Spike. God knows you’ll F that up some how.
( The car screeches as he gets on the high way. )
All I wanted was a real title defense. All you claimed to want was a real champion. You’ve managed to take away both of those things Xavier. Good show Xavier. It was nice of you to just strait up take the fans money and run. I knew back when you were bitching and moaning about society that it was all just a crock of ****. You wanted the people to believe you cared. You wanted them to believe that you fought to help create a better world. You wanted this whole damn world to see you as some sort of great revolutionary or savior. But in the long run your just like everyone else. In the end your just like me. All you care about is yourself, and self gratification. All you care about is making yourself look as good as possible at everyone else’s expense. For better or for worse Xavier, your just a poor imitation of myself. It’s just too bad I’m so damn good at being me.
( Angel seems to slow down as he passes a cop. )
Angel: Don’t think I didn’t hear what you said about me, I did. I’m going to have to agree with you Xavier, you are no Angel. Though it is something to strive for. Perhaps, with enough practice, and maybe some more real opponents like myself, you’ll one day reach the level of greatness that I myself now inhabit. Though it’s unlikely.
( Pointless break. )
Angel: Xavier. I care about this title allot more than you give me credit for. I respect allot of men. Mostly the ones who deserve it. And let me ask you, have you beaten Davey Ortega? Did you bring Ortega so close to defeat that he’d rather be DQed than actually beaten? Nope. Did you win a tag match, pin fall or not, against Reckless Jack? Nope. Have you done anything of any merit besides pin Talon? Nope. So let me ask you again, what makes you worthy of me, let alone this title? There are those in NCW who feel I am above this belt. There are those who have begged and pleaded with me to move on already. I’ve been this champion for what, five weeks? And people like Tent Helms are imploring me to move on. What does that say about the X-Division? It says that the division is worthless to everyone, except worthless little pawns like you who are not good enough to win one of the “real” belts.
( Angel clicks on the high beams and turns down what appears to be a wooded road. )
That is why I want this belt. The whole roster, hell, former X-Division Champions look down on this title and laugh. They laugh at people like you and Ortega who want nothing more than to be this champion. Think about it Xavier. I am sky rocketing to the top of this company. I am GOING to be World Champion. Despite my arrogance and my general nature to piss everyone off. I am the future of NCW. Knowing all of that, wouldn’t you want me to carry this belt and this division on my back all the way to the top? What are you going to do? Your going to cheat to win it, then what? Cheat to retain it? Your going to make this belt more worthless than it already is. I want to make it worth something. I want to make it valuable. You want this title to make yourself look better. I just want it for what it means, and what it could mean. I want… I AM the Savior of the X-Division. You are just an obstacle in my way.
( Angel stops the car. )
Angel: Xavier you got me all wrong. You think I’ve just brushed you aside? Not even. I’ve been thinking about you almost non stop. You see, unlike you, I’ve had to jump through a couple of hoops in the last few weeks. I didn’t have it on easy street. I had to face my own brother in law in a lumber jack match. I don’t know how you really feel about Rob, but that was atleast mentally taxing on me. You may think I’m heartless, but I did care for Rob. Key word, DID. Sure, I had the match of my career thus far, tagging up with Lance, but it’s not as if our opponents were as easy as I’d have you believe.[/color]
( Angel smiles. )
Angel: Yes Xavier, I’m giving you credit. You gave me a good fight in the tag match. Then, this past week I fought Davey Ortega. And if you think he is just a push over, then by all means, fight him. I had him beat, but it doesn’t mean it was easy to get to that point. He gave me everything he had. So you see. I’ve had a tough couple of weeks. Which is good. I’m a champion. I’m not supposed to have it easy. I’m supposed to constantly prove myself to everyone. I’m supposed to fight for my spot. And so I do. What do you fight for Xavier? You fight to reach the top. I fight to stay on top. I assure you Xavier, the trip up is much easier than actually staying there. A point that Falcon and I like to continuously make to all of you is anyone can be the better man of the moment… It takes a real champion to remain the best. Are you going to best me for the moment, or do you truly believe you could stay where I am permanently? Personally, I think you could. All you need to do is drop the three losers and finally stand on your own… But Spike Kane has all but removed your spine. After the Age of the Revolution and now Social Distortion, it’s a damn surprise you can stand.
( Angel opens the door and gets out of the car. The camera follows. Angel did in fact park in the middle of the woods. He stands alone in the darkness. )
Angel: This little scene I’ve put together for you is a metaphor Xavier. You see, I did not specifically put together the Enemies to battle you. Their formation was inevitable. Falcon and Talon are both good friends of mine, now. Joe Everyman is someone I know I can trust, on top of being my a good friend. We came together for many reasons. But to battle you, that’s a joke. I truly stand alone in my own darkness. I have and will continue to fight many battles on my own. I don’t need to the Enemies to help me defeat you. They are there to make sure you do not use your friends to beat me. Understand the difference Xavier. I am a man of honor. I will honor the rules of this match. I will not honor your decision to play the cards as you have been dealt. You alone could change this match. You alone could tell your buddies to stay out of it. You alone could make this the match it should have been. Instead of just telling me I dug my own grave. But, if that is how you want to win, then there is nothing I can do to stop you.
( Angel walks a few feet, his hands in his pockets. )
Angel: You can see what you want Xavier. You can think of me as you want. I will do the same. Hell, I’ll even vocalize it, quite a bit. But there is one thing you should do Xavier. Do not under estimate me. Do not for a second think that this match is a lock. I am walking in, knowing, and prepared to give 150%. Prepared to go to any extreme to win. I am walking into this match as if it could be my last, and if you have it your way, it may be. I am walking into this match Xavier, more ready than I have ever been before. Do not over look me. Nothing is certain Xavier. Davey was certain he’d beat me. So was Reckless Jack, and many, many others. Don’t continue the same trend and make the same mistake. Do not be a fool.
( He is still walking. )
Angel: You wish to better me. You wish to out do me. You wish to simply shut me up. Do it Xavier. Shut your little bitch mouth and do it. I’m right here. I’ve always been right here. Drop the act. Drop the stable. For once in your miserable, worthless life, be a ****ing man. You want me to stop, shut me up yourself. Don’t rely on Spike or Tyler. Don’t rely on Rob, or anyone else. Look down, find your cock, and kick my ass. Do it. I’d like to see you try. In fact, I’d love to see you try. I want a challenge. I live for challenge. I constantly better myself, something I told Davey. I constantly improve. Can you? Can you step up Xavier? Can you back the **** you throw at me? If you can, then so be it. But remember Xavier… I am EVERYTHING I say I am and more. I have done more things in my career than you can do in five. I’ve been to the top. I am on the top. And I will stay here until I see fit to vacate the top. Step it up Xavier. I know you got the balls hidden underneath those baggy clothes somewhere. Grab a hold of ‘em and **** me up. Because if you don’t… If you come at me half assed… If you trip or stumble, or stop to breath for just a second... This match will come to a grinding halt as I tip the scales in my favor and put you down for the count of three. Heaven’s Fury will reign supreme this weekend. The Wrath of God shall find a target. The Patron Saint of Bad Ass will show just how bad ass he is. And finally Savior X will have no mercy.
( He stops where he is. )
Angel: I don’t need saving. I am beyond that Xavier. I have chosen my path. I walk it everyday. Whether that path leads to the glory I claim to deserve, time will tell. Whether or not WE ever reach the top, again, time will tell. I walk my path. Usually alone. I help no one, and no one helps me. It’s cruel, I know. Sure, I have my friends, and if things start to go south, they’ll jump in. I would do the same for them. If the Empire sticks their big fat head in our business, I will crush them. But as far as this match goes. As far as my career goes. I built it alone. I stand alone. I fight alone. The X-Division is mine to save. Any and all who wrestle within it are mine to protect. I will not end your career Xavier. But I will put you in your place. When this war between the Social Enemies and Social Distortion is over, I hope you are still standing. But this weekend… This match… Only one of us walks away…
( Angel now walks several more feet forward to find the Social Enemies hanging out around a bon fire. Everyman is cooking a hot dog over the fire. Falcon is smoking a cigarette. Talon is roasting a marshmallow. Angel walks over and is greeted with a beer. )
Falcon: So you don’t need us?
Angel: You know what I meant.
Joe Everyman: I don’t know, sounds like you’re a one man army to me.
Angel: Don’t you start too.
Talon: Grab a seat by the table, we’re gonna play so Hold’em.
( Angel walks over to the table and sits. The other three follow. Fade out… )
I am Savior X… and I have no mercy…
