I'm suprised Reck hasn't yelled out...Come talk to me when your team wins 26 championships.
When it comes to the AL East, i'm torn, I've always liked the Red Soxs, but in my heart, I have to cheer for the Blue Jays.
And I have to hate the Evil Empire.

Nah, that argument is over-used and over-abused. And A-Rod shows up more than Manny 99.99% of the time my friend. And don't even try to talk about Coco Crisp....

Hell, we don't talk about Coco Crisp. that is a moot point bringing him up, i mean that would be like a Boston fan being like....Yeah...Well talk about Chicken Mei Wing, or whatever his name is.
Yankees fan just love to talk the ****, yet have done nothing but choked in the Playoffs.
It doesn't matter if you have a 400 billion dollar Payroll. The Yankees just don't have Heart.
It's like as Boston fans, we admit the Yankees have talent and are dangerous, but we back up our arguments with facts, Yankees fans are like Boston sucks...110 percents...Because our 26 Championships say so.
Boston is the new, Yankees.

I admit, Red Sox have the best overall pitching rotation and bullpen in baseball. I can admit that too my friend, but I can also say that the pay roll for them is high too. Baseball is a high paid game. The one thing I don't like, is their ****ty over-rated guys. David Ortiz, Julio Lugo, and of course, none other than Curt ****tling. Now, we have over-rated guys too. Jason Giambi, and Melky Cabrera. Boston can never replace the Yanks, due to the curse my friend.

No, the curse is not dead. The curse isn't the Bambino, it's the past. Not saying 26 championships, I'm saying personas. Thurman Munson, Babe Ruth, Phil Rizzuto, Lou Gherig (SP?, meh, not awake atm.) Point is, you need more of a past to go with your present.

I'm about to hate the words that are about to come out of my mouth, but that makes no freaking sense what so ever.
I mean, by what you're saying, The Dolphins are a NFL Powehouse because they have a history that says..No One could beat us in 1972....
By my count, Boston nearly has 5 Championships, 2 in the past 3 years, and several before the Yankees became a Dynasty.
Just face the fact, The Curse is indeed over, The Red Soxs and The Yankees are going to kill each other as if they were from Israel and Palestine.

The fact of the matter is this, the Red Sox, injuries or not, have been on fire for the last several years, the Yankees have been slowly heading further and further down the down side of the hill. I can admit when the Yanks are good, they were ****ing awesome all through the 90's, but the fact remains that they suck right now. A-Rod is an over rated prick, Jeter is done, everyone else is filler. Ortiz? Who cares, their doing fine without him. Crisp? Good for breakfast, not hurting their line up. Injuries or not the Red Sox are still winning games left and right. The Yankees are struggling. All that matters is this season, i think we all agree with that. And so far, this season, the Red Sox are killing everything and everyone. What happens by the time the play offs come around, we'll have to wait and see.

Carl Yaztremski (you try spelling it), Carlton Fisk... those guys aren't history or anything..
You know Ted Williams.. the greatest hitter EVER.. no nevermind about him either..
And you know.. Cy Young.. who has 511 career wins..
You're right Reck.. Sox have no history prior to 04..
No Roger Clemens.. no Wade Boggs.. none of that..
No Pedro Martinez with his under 2 ERA..
No two time batting champion Nomar Garciaparra..
No batting champion Bill Mueller.. who won a batting title hitting NINTH.
All the sox have are the Papi.. you know captain clutch.. Manny with his 500 home runs.. five interchangable lead off hitters (Crisp, Cora, Lugo, Pedroia, Ellsbury.)
A rotation that includes a hall of famer, the best postseason pitcher in baseball.. a lights out closer.. backed by a deep bullpen you know.. stuff like that..
So, I bow to your superior yankee franchise.
...you wish.
I've spent the last two decades listening to you rant about your twenty six titles, how great your legends are, and how we'll never break the curse.
Been there, done that..
How do you like it?

Ok, so here's my two cents:
I am a yankees fan, but I'm not blind.
The Red Sox have a better pitching rotation, and The Yankees have more offensive firepower.
But, as in most cases, Pitching is the key to a championship, and right now, The Yankees are SORELY lacking in that department.
Wang is the Ace, but he has had two bad games in a row. Mussina is 40 and amazingly is the most consistant. Andy Petitte is getting older and still musters a pretty good effort. Joba is young, and just starting to start, so he will struggle. That leaves Olhendorf and Ranser to sort of flip-flop on starts.
Overall, that sucks.
But Boston is now without it's share of problems. Dice-K is inconsistant. Tim Wakefield is really crap without the knuckleball. Big Papi is a great bat, but an average first basemen. Other than Manny and Ortiz, you guys DON'T have any star players, not that they're not good, just not star.
Manny may the best player on your roster.
Boston is awesome right now, because it's talent over name. Think of Boston like TNA, and The Yankees like WWE.
Now I will defend the Yankees on two key points
Derek Jeter is not "done" as some pointed out, but he is slowing down, he is 34 after all. We can't all play like we're 22 when we're 42. But for being 34, he is amazingly consistant.
The whole anti-Yankees fans who say "we have facts to back up what we say, and Yankees fans don't." Theory.
I have plenty of facts to back up why the Yankees are good. Reck pointed out many of them, but Red Sox fans have nothing better to do but point out Yankee flaws. So of course they have facts. I will gladly give a better team props, my hatred for Boston does not take away from their skill. I have been to both New York and Boston, and Boston fans just are bitter. (Generally) When you go out of your way to hate the Yankees, it's more sad than anything else. {There is a resturaunt in Boston which year round has a sign that reads: "Red Sox fans welcome, Yankees fans, go f--- yourself."} Seriously? Is that really called for? I mean, and the whole buring a jersey to 'curse' the Yankees at their new stadium? Really?
Now you guys did make valid points.
A-Rod is consistant 85% of the time, but in the postseason he chokes. Yeah, that seems to be the case, but some guys struggle ALL year and then turn it around, it just depends on the person. A-Rod has to find a way to stay consistant.
I do believe that The Stein has been blind when it comes to talent vs. a big name. Hence, the signing of Randy Johnson, Gary Sheffield, and many other useless people. Just now, are the Yankees starting to get back to developing good players. Robinson Cano is on the ball now, and Ian Kennedy and Phil Huges could be great starters. It just took forever to realize this.
The Yankees lack of heart, I wouldn't call it heart, it'd call it seriousness. Under Torre, it was real laid back, and the Boston was not the threat it is now. Until 2000ish at least. So when you get complacent, bad things happen to you. I would expect that Joe Giardi will fix this.
by the way Falcon, There is no-such thing as a "Lights out" closer. Papelbon's ERA is 1.93and he has allowed 6 runs so far.
Mariano Rivera's ERA? 0.67 with 2 runs allowed. That's not "lights out" either, but pretty damn close.
Since we like discovering History so much Let's run down Yankees lore if the Red Sox are so high and mighty.
- Babe Ruth, first to hit 60 home runs in one season - Lou Gherig, 2,130 straight games played/Most career grand slams -David Wells, Don Larsen, and David Cone - All pitched PERFECT games -Joe Dimaggio hit record on 56 straight games -Yankees won 6 of 10 world titles in the 1950's -Best Record ever in MLB history of 125-50 (counting playoffs) - Second best Regular season record of 114-48 (supassed on by Seattle's 116-46) -Roger Maris first to hit 61 home runs in one season -Don Mattingly and Dave Winfiled finish 1-2 in the 1984 race for the batting title
I could go on, but yeah.
Now you just ranted about how great the Red Sox have been...But when your loaded like that....you should win. And the fact is, from 1918 up until 2004... you didn't. Now all of a sudden, since 2004 and 2007 you won,and now, all of a sudden you've got the greatest team ever? Hardly. I don't call the Yankees the greatest team, because it's not true. So why do you call Boston the greatest? because they have a good team?
Now let's note that during this entirely too long "two cents" I did not say that Boston, past or present, "sucks". Because, they do not or did not. I have backed up why the Yankees are a good team, they are still extremely dangerous and should make the playoffs this year, provided the pitching picks up. and last year, the yankees were BELOW .500 going into the all-stat break, and still made the playoffs. So I would't count on anything really.
And that was entirely too much typing.

Oh, and earlier, when I mentioned the past, I said that due to one of you guys saying the Bo-Sox are the new Yankees. You can NEVER replace that, my friends. And once again, I bow to you Ricky.
