The scene opens up in the dark, rainy streets of Washington DC. The camera moves along the streets at a quickened pace, finally stopping at a rather large house. A familiar dark blue Escalade is parked out front, with a bright yellow Ferrari parked behind it. A song can be heard playing in the background...
The camera fades out and then back in, outside, in the backyard. A pool shines with the bright light of the mood. A lot of movement and sound can be seen and heard for the inside. Then, the glass sliding door opens up, and a shadowed figure walks out. As soon as it walks out from the deck into the moonlight, it's shown to Joe Everyman. He is wearing his streets, and a pair of swim trunks, with the nCw logo on the side. He walks over to the large boom box sitting on the patio table, and clicks next. He then walks up to the pool and sides down on the edge, letting his legs dangle into the water. He leans backwards and leans on his elbows, looking up at the moon.
Joe Everyman: Tomorrow night...will be the night of nights.
The boom box in the background begins playing Limelight by Rush, and Joe can hear is clearly.
Joe laughs to himself.
Joe Everyman: What a perfect song to be playing...it fits so well. Because you see, tomorrow, one of us will be standing in the limelight, and the others will be jealous of that man's power. Lance Ryan, Spike Kane, Trent Helms, and myself, all hold the same power in this match. We all stand on common ground, looking upon that hanging belt. We will all begin at the same time...but we will not end the same way. One man will climb up and bring down the nCw World Heavyweight Championship...and become the man. They will become the standard of the entire nCw roster. They will be the man who stands at the top of the mountain, calling all of the shots. They will simply be the king...a spot two of these men have already held. Spike Kane and Lance Ryan have been king before...and from what I've heard, it feels good. I've talked to Lance Ryan and Spike Kane before, both former World Champions...and they feel the same way. Even though their views on everything else varies, their views on the World Heavyweight Championship remain the same. Once you hold it...you can do or say whatever you want, because you are simply the best. No man can win a World Championship off of a fluke victory...you either win or you don't. It's simple...and none of us will win this off of a fluke. We will either win and become king...or fall and go back to where they belong. And if you ask me...I am more than ready for that task.
The song ends, and the next one begins...which is Always by Saliva.
Joe Everyman: Hmm...that's an odd twist. I learned something this past Sunday...and that is that no matter what, I can pull out something huge. Because I know everyone in the back was thinking the same thing...that Spike Kane was going to destroy little Joe Everyman. Well, I proved everyone wrong. I proved once again that I am the biggest rising star in the entire nCw. Everyone always counts me out, no matter what standing they have with me. They could be my friends, my mortal enemies, or neutral with me all together...but they have the same feeling, and that is that they know I will never become anything big. Well, I proved them all wrong. And I know Spike Kane will say it was a fluke...but in my eyes, there is no such thing as a fluke. You either win or you lose...simple as that. And last week I defeated my long time rival, Spike Kane. And it felt good. But, it had a long time coming. No matter how strong or cunning someone is, the "underdog" of a battle will always pull one out. No matter what...they will come out on top. And as soon as I had my hand raised, I felt that feeling. I felt the feeling of accomplishment. I felt the feeling I've been missing for several months...that feeling of respect. As soon as the crowd erupted when the referee's hand fell for the count of three, I felt it. All the thoughts in my mind said I had won...but I still couldn't believe it.
Joe Everyman: Even when I went into the back, and I was congratulated by my friends...I still couldn't believe it. I had finally accomplished something I had tried to do for the longest time...and that was to defeat Spike Kane. I had done something I thought would be the impossible. I defeated my former mentor, my former friend...and my enemy. It was an accomplishment, not only I, but most of the nCw roster believed would never happen, but I did it. I may have lost my fair share of battles, but when it comes to something as big as that, I will win. And I know Spike Kane will say what he always says...it's only one win, and that he has destroyed me in the past. And really, I don't give a damn what Spike Kane thinks. He was a former World Champion, a former great man...but all of that is gone. All of my respect for you is gone...and good riddance if you ask me. I once believed you were a great man, but everything I thought of you is gone...I just want to destroy you and your former self. Last week, I took you to the edge, and beat you down and gained the victory...but that isn't enough. I had the gun, and I was ready to fire...but I held back. And do you know why? Because I wanted to wait until Last Stand to take you out.
Joe Everyman: Spike Kane...it is all over for you. I could have shot for the kill last week...but I held back. I wanted to give you a chance at the World Heavyweight title, just so I could destroy your hopes and dreams again. Spike, your career is over. There is nothing left, and after Last Stand, I will show you how true I am. I know there are two other men in this match, but they have this same rivalry going. Spike, this rivalry of our has been growing and growing since January of two thousand and seven...over a year ago. As soon as you left No Warning Shot to join the British Brotherhood, I knew all I had ever held for you was gone. And it's been a slippery slope since then...I had faced you numerous times, and not ever been able to pull out the win. We stood in your zone, your realm at Night Of Champions, and you took that victory from me. But...all of that is in the past. I defeated you once and for all. It is done between us after Last Stand. I promise I will make sure you do not win that match. And when I am standing tall, looking over your broken, blooded body, holding the nCw World Heavyweight Championship, you will know it is all over. You will have nothing to stand for. Spike...it ends at Last Stand.
As Always ends, Wasted Time by Fuel begins playing. Joe then looks down at the pool, with the moonlight reflecting against it.
Joe Everyman: Even though this song is about heartbreak...in my mind, it fits Trent Helms in a way. Sure, him and I have like no history together inside of the ring. We have never been in the same match together. Because really Trent...you are one confusing man. I've seen your promos, and I can honestly say I was amazed. I look at you and see a confused man. Because, you may say you are the best in the universe...but you are yet to prove that to me. Just like last month, when you tried to win the nCw World Heavyweight Championship...but fell short. That's why I think this song fits you so well...because you fell short and wasted your time. And even though I have no direct beef with you, I know you won't be able to do it this time either. Everyone says I am the underdog in this match, but in all honest, I think you are. I don't think you have what it takes to win in a match like this. You kind of remind of a one Davey Ortega...but I digress. Trent, I know you're the underdog in this match. I've never seen you really pull out something like this, no matter what it was for. You aren't like you used to be, and you need to go back to that. Trent...it would be smart for you to not waste your time and save yourself the heartache and just sit this one out.
The song fades out, into...Falling For The First Time by the Barenaked Ladies.
Joe Everyman: And that brings me to the reigning World Heavyweight Champion...Lance Ryan.
Joe Everyman: Lance...when are you going to learn. I am not the man I used to be...I am not the lowly little jobber I was back when I first joined the nCw. I am not anywhere near that man...simply, I have evolved. I have become a greater man, a greater wrestler. I have become all I have wanted to become...except for one thing. I am yet to become the World Heavyweight Champion...you're World title belt is the thing I crave the most. Nothing will stop me from gaining it too. Lance...you are my main obstacle. I took Spike Kane out and Trent Helms is no threat. You are the only thing that stands between greatness and me. And the thing is that...I know you don't have what it takes. Lance, you are past your prime. There is nothing that you can do about it. When a man is past his prime in this business, nothing can bring him out of it. No amount of talk, no amount of training, nothing...nothing can help you now Lance. And the thing is that...I know you can feel it. You know that you are past your former self. You are past those long nights as nCw World Heavyweight Champion. Your fan base is seeing it too. When someone falls from the limelight, the fans see it too. You are like the John Cena of nCw.
Joe Everyman: I know it's confusing, but let me explain. Lance, you are the John Cena of nCw. Everyone was backing John Cena at Wrestlemania twenty-one against John Bradshaw Layfield, because everyone out there hated him. Remember when you won the World Heavyweight Championship for this reign...you defeated Spike Kane and Jack Manson, and the fans hated both men. You were going in as the good guy...and you came out on top. John Cena did the same thing, defeated JBL as the "underdog". And then Cena went as WWE Champion for months. And as he went, the fans began turning on him. Even when he was the WWE Champion...even when he was the hometown boy, the fans would still turn on him. No matter who we was facing, the fans would boo him. And do you know why? Because they got sick of him. The fans saw he was lacking, and they were sick of him as champion. And when he finally lost the WWE Championship, the fans were finally able to turn away from him. And now look at him...he's out of the spotlight, and finally gave time for the others who deserve a shot more than him. Newer, younger and more talented wrestlers to move up and claim what is rightfully theirs.
The song fades out, and the next song is Square One by Coldplay...
Joe Everyman: Lance...you have everything all wrong. See Lance, I have no adoration for you. I don't adore you at all...sure, I know you are the top man here right now, but that doesn't mean anything to me when I know I'm next in line to take what is mine. I used to think you were great...but that was months ago. Since then, I've seen the light, and I found the truth. Back then, I realized you are beatable, and I realized you are not the God you claim to be. I saw my destiny...and that was to defeat you. I've been waiting patiently for my time to shine, and it's finally here. And Lance, I know you know it will happen. You may talk a big game...but is all of that true in your mind? Do you really believe what you say about me? For you see...I am not grateful I am in this match. People who are grateful know they are not worthy of what they are receiving. I know I am ready and willing to do this task set before me. I am more than worthy to be in this match. I am a two-time nCw National Champion, and the longest reigning to boot. I am a main eventer already...you are just too blind to see it. I have defeated Milo Holland, I have defeated James Franklin Karn...and I have defeated Spike Kane. I am more than ready for the Main Event status I so rightly deserve.
Joe Everyman: Lance, my love for you faded just as quickly as my love for Spike Kane stood. Lance, I used to respect you a lot more than I do now. The only reason I respect you at all is because of the championship you hold around your waist. The nCw World Heavyweight Championship created respect, no matter who you are. You could be a nobody, or a main eventer, and it creates loads of respect for you. But for me...it is fading. It is fading because the zero hour is almost upon us. It is fading because I can see your fate. I can see that you will fall. And when that does, all of my respect for you will be gone. Because as soon as that happens, you will be below me, and will have to regain my respect back. When you are the top dog, you don't just love everyone. You can be an egomaniac, you can be a complete jackass, you can do whatever you want...and that is because you have earned the right at that. When you are king, you hold all the power. You can behead the men you think can take over your kingdom, and the peasants just stand and cheer. Lance...your peasants, your guards, your knights...they are all turning on you. I used to be in that position...I know how it felt. I was once below you, as a stable mate. You made that group to show how much you cared...you created it to train three men who you believe were going to be the future of the whole nCw. Vertigo Durtmurder, John Anthony and myself. Vertigo is gone, Anthony became nothing...and look at me. Did you really believe one of those men would be the one who would dethrone you?
The song fades out onto the final song on the cd...And Justice For All by Metallica. As the song starts, Joe stands up and looks off at the moon again. He reaches up, as it was a hanging belt above a ladder. He then turns towards the camera again.
Joe Everyman: Lance...this Sunday truly is your Last Stand. A fatal four way, No Limits Ladder Match...do you really believe you stand a chance. You are facing the three greatest men in the whole nCw locker room, and possibly, the three greatest men in all of professional wrestling today. All of us have earned these spots, and all of us deserve to be the man...all of us deserve to be the nCw World Heavyweight Champion. And yet...all of you, everyone around the world counts me out of this match...including yourself. Everyone says I have no right to be in the main event of Last Stand...nobody believes in what I can and have done. Lance...you say I have no right in being the World Championship match...you say I am only National Champion material. You are sadly, sadly mistaken. The nCw National Championship is a stepping-stone into the main event. It is the final task one takes before they walk into the limelight and into the main event. It is something I have done, and it is now my time to shine. I have never prepared for more than this...I have never trained this hard...I have never been more ready. And still, you sit on your throne and say I am nothing. I have defeated all of the greats, and yet, you say I have no right in this match. Is it because you are afraid? Is it because you know your time is over? Or is it because you have nothing to stand on? Whatever it is...you best come prepared.
Joe Everyman: Lance...this is your final hour. After Last Stand, you will have nothing to live for. Your dreams will be crushed, your career...all but destroyed. For, after this Sunday, I will become the nCw World Heavyweight Champion, and lock myself into greatness. There is nothing holding me back now. Nothing stands in my way besides you. And I know that I can tackle this task and come out the greater man. I have worked too hard and for too long to let it all fade out now. I have never been this more prepared...but I can see in your eyes, you do not feel the same. I can tell you are not prepared enough to win this match. You have never had to tackle three other men before...and you never have had to face me. You have literally zero idea what I am capable of. You thought me everything you know...as did Spike...but little did you two know that is what would lead you to your destruction. The apprentice always overcomes the master. It's a fact of life. The exodus is here for all of you...Lance, Spike and Trent...your day of reckoning is here. All of you are drunk with power. All of you look at each other and claim victory...but I stand here knowing all of that is a lie. Behind those strong words is a weak and destructible interior. I can see it in Trent's eyes...I can see it is Spike's heart...and I can see it around Lance's waist. And as soon as I take that away from him...he will be nothing. I will rise up and take when is rightfully mine. I will stand tall and become the nCw World Heavyweight Champion. It will not be a fluke...it will not be a jip...it will not be something you can plan for...it will simply be...destiny. Lance...this Sunday, you finally will take your rightful place behind me. You will fall pray to me. You will be moved to the back burner. You will fall to me...your new nCw World Heavyweight Champion. Spike...Trent...Lance...your times are over. The Era of Everyman will begin at Last Stand. It's time for a new beginning...and it will happen this Sunday. Destiny brought me into this match...destiny brought it to Washington DC..destiny caused all of this to be. Destiny will cause me to win the nCw World Heavyweight Champion...and destiny will put me into my rightful place...as king...
Joe's words fade out as the camera moves up and zooms in on the moon...as it fades onto a quote.
After a few seconds, it fades out, and a new one comes up.
The quote fades out, and the feed cuts out.
Restless tonight
Cause I wasted the light
Between both these times
I drew a really thin line
It’s nothing I planned
And not that I can
But you should be mine
Across that line
If I traded it all
If I gave it all away for one thing
Just for one thing
If I sorted it out
If I knew all about this one thing
Wouldn’t that be something
I promise I might
Not walk on by
Maybe next time
But not this time
Even though I know
I don’t want to know
Yeah I guess I know
I just hate how it sounds
If I traded it all
If I gave it all away for one thing
Just for one thing
If I sorted it out
If I knew all about this one thing

Living on a lighted stage
Approaches the unreal
For those who think and feel
In touch with some reality
Beyond the gilded cage
Cast in this unlikely role,
Ill-equipped to act
With insufficient tact
One must put up barriers
To keep oneself intact
Living in the limelight
The universal dream
For those who wish to seem

Those who wish to be
Must put aside the alienation
Get on with the fascination
The real relation
The underlying theme
Living in a fisheye lens
Caught in the camera eye
I have no heart to lie
I can’t pretend a stranger
Is a long-awaited friend
All the worlds indeed a stage
And we are merely players
Performers and portrayers
Each another’s audience
Outside the gilded cage
Must put aside the alienation
Get on with the fascination
The real relation
The underlying theme
Living in a fisheye lens
Caught in the camera eye

The song ends, and the next one begins...which is Always by Saliva.
I hear, a voice say "Don't be so blind"
It's telling me all of these things
That you would probably hide!
Am I your one and only desire?
Am I the reason you breathe,
Or am I the reason you cry?
Always, always, always,
I just can't live without you!
I love you!
I hate you!
I can't get around you!
I breathe you,
I taste you!
I can't live without you!
I just can't take anymore
This life of solitude
I guess then I'm out that door
And now I'm done with you!
(Done with you, done with you, done with you, done with you, done with you)
It's telling me all of these things
That you would probably hide!
Am I your one and only desire?
Am I the reason you breathe,
Or am I the reason you cry?
Always, always, always,
I just can't live without you!

Does it make you feel, more like a man?
Was it all, just a part of your plan?
The pistol's shakin' in my hands
And all I hear is the sound!

Say it to my face
Look me in the eyes
And say what you have to say
You know we can't erase
These words before they bind
And turn the final page
Ah, here comes alone again
'Cause everything's broken
Everything's vacant
Everything's wasted time again
Sentiments, hopeless
Innocence, jaded
Everything's wasted time again
And so we leave this stage
And all our best written lines
And all the acts we played
So say you want to leave
And say we'd never have
The way we always hope and we'd cry
Look me in the eyes
And say what you have to say
You know we can't erase
These words before they bind
And turn the final page
Ah, here comes alone again
'Cause everything's broken
Everything's vacant
Everything's wasted time again
Sentiments, hopeless
Innocence, jaded
Everything's wasted time again
And so we leave this stage
And all our best written lines
And all the acts we played
So say you want to leave
And say we'd never have
The way we always hope and we'd cry
Ah, here comes alone again
'Cause everything's broken
Everything's vacant
Everything's wasted time again
Sentiments, hopeless
Innocence, jaded
Everything's wasted time again
And so we leave this stage
And all our best written lines
And all the acts we played
So say you want to leave
And say we'd never have
The way we always hope and we'd cry
And say hello to alone again
'Cause everything's broken
Everything’s vacant
Everything's wasted time again
Sentiments, hopeless
Innocence, jaded
Everything's wasted time again
Someday we might find
(Someday we will find)
Some sacred place in time
(Yeah, in time)
But until then
All we will share
Are dreams we left behind
'Cause everything’s broken
Everything's vacant
Everything's wasted time again
Sentiments, hopeless
Innocence, jaded
Everything's wasted time again
'Cause everything's broken
Everything's vacant
Everything's wasted time again
Sentiments, hopeless
Innocence, jaded
Everything's wasted time again
And so we leave this stage
And all our best written lines
And all the acts we played

And say we'd never have

The song fades out, into...Falling For The First Time by the Barenaked Ladies.
Joe Everyman: And that brings me to the reigning World Heavyweight Champion...Lance Ryan.
I'm so cool, too bad I'm a loser
I'm so smart, too bad I can't get anything figured out
I'm so brave, too bad I'm a baby
I'm so fly, that's probably why it
Feels just like I'm falling for the first time
I'm so green, it's really amazing
I'm so clean, too bad I can't get all the dirt off of me.
I'm so sane, it's driving me crazy
It's so strange, I can't believe it
Feels just like I'm falling for the first time
Anyone perfect must be lying, anything easy has its cost
Anyone plain can be lovely, anyone loved can be lost
What if I lost my direction? What if I lost sense of time?
What if I nursed this infection? Maybe the worst is behind
It feels just like I'm falling for the first time
It feels just like I'm falling for the first time
I'm so smart, too bad I can't get anything figured out
I'm so brave, too bad I'm a baby

I'm so chilled, no wonder it's freezing
I'm so still, I just can't keep my fingers out of anything
I'm so thrilled to finally be failing
I'm so done, turn me over cause it
Feels just like I'm falling for the first time
Anything plain can be lovely, anything loved can be lost
Maybe I lost my direction, what if our love is the cost?
Anyone perfect must be lying, anything easy has its cost
Anyone plain can be lovely, anyone loved can be lost
What if I lost my direction? What if I lost sense of time?
What if I nursed this infection? Maybe the worst is behind.

You're in control is there anywhere you wanna go?
You're in control is there anything you wanna know?
The future's for discovering
The space in which we're traveling
From the top of the first page
To the end of the last day
From the start in your own way
You just want somebody listening to what you say
It doesn't matter who you are.
Under the surface trying to break through
Deciphering the codes in you
I need a compass,draw me a map
I'm on the top I can't get back
Whoah. Woah.
You're in control is there anything you wanna know?
The future's for discovering
The space in which we're traveling
From the top of the first page
To the end of the last day
From the start in your own way
You just want somebody listening to what you say
It doesn't matter who you are.
Under the surface trying to break through
Deciphering the codes in you
I need a compass,draw me a map
I'm on the top I can't get back
Whoah. Woah.
First line of the first page
To the end of the last place
You were looking
From the start in your own way
You just want somebody listening to what you say
It doesn't matter who you are
It doesn't matter who you are
You just want somebody listening to what you say
You just want somebody listening to what you say
It doesn't matter who you are
It doesn't matter who you are
Is there anybody out there who is lost and hurt and lonely too
Are they bleeding all your colors into one
And if you come undone as if you'd been run through
Some catapult that fired you
You wonder if your chance will ever come
Or if you're stuck in square one.
To the end of the last place
You were looking
From the start in your own way
You just want somebody listening to what you say
It doesn't matter who you are
It doesn't matter who you are
You just want somebody listening to what you say
You just want somebody listening to what you say
It doesn't matter who you are
It doesn't matter who you are
Is there anybody out there who is lost and hurt and lonely too
Are they bleeding all your colors into one
And if you come undone as if you'd been run through
Some catapult that fired you
You wonder if your chance will ever come
Or if you're stuck in square one.

"There are only two forces in the world, the sword and the spirit. In the long
run the sword will always be conquered by the spirit."
- Napoleon Bonaparte
run the sword will always be conquered by the spirit."
- Napoleon Bonaparte
After a few seconds, it fades out, and a new one comes up.
"Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character,
give him power."
-Abraham Lincoln
give him power."
-Abraham Lincoln
The quote fades out, and the feed cuts out.
