~*~*~Sacrifice, Perseverance and…deceit? Hardly three words that fit together when you are thinking about championships, victories and illustrious careers. Three words that really do not appear together when describing one object, topic or person. However, as you are about to find out, there is one person that can say that he attained all of his success on one level or another using all of these three attributes at the right times and in the right places. That man is none other than the heavyweight champion of the nCw World, a man that has been known as an Icon, a legend, a hall of famer and a trailblazer. At times he has been beloved by all and at times he has been hated by all, this Sunday an entire year of running comes to a head for nCw and the reality is that just like the first pay per view in that year, Lance will be headlining the last pay per view of that year. Three men will stand in his way and try to prevent him from once again retaining the World Title, three men in the way of what is believed to be destiny, three men that will have to overcome all of the sacrifice, perseverance and deceit that Lance Ryan can bring to the table.~*~*~
Weaving a web - of lies and deceit
It's a dangerous game - we play
All this time - the pain eating us away
All this time - the memories refuse to fade
A rotting shell of dying trust
We share this hell at any cost
Phases and stages
Circles and cycles
And empty charade
This pointless masquerade
A dangerous game
A dangerous game - we play
~*~*~The scene opens and we see Lance Ryan sitting alone outside of his large home. He is smoking a cigarette and he has a very straight face about him. He looks up into the camera and his serious expression does not change. Lance is dressed in a very dressy pair of pants and a black Armani shirt that is open to show off his abs. He lifts a glass and takes a swig of something and then in a very calm and even voice he begins to speak.~*~*~[/i]
Lance Ryan: I am going to cut right to the chase here. No filler, no bull**** laden lines, just come straight at the three of you. You three are all that stands between me and the destiny of still being the World Champion as we come to the end of year one here in nCw. You three are also about to bear witness to some of the truths that have been vaulted for fifteen years, and some that you have come to witness in this first year of nCw. First, I am going to put this in perspective for the three of you, this does not by any means have to do with only you three, nor does it only have to do with nCw and my career…what you are about to find out is going to impact every life that has ever touched mine, and every life that has ever been enthralled to watch as Lance Ryan climbed to superstardom. From everyone that has ever managed me, cheered me or teamed with me, right down to anyone has been lucky enough to call me a friend.
There are very few moments in a person’s life when they are overtaken by shock and have their entire world destroyed, but this will be one of those moments for a lot of people. Trent, you know what those moment’s feel like, you had one not long ago when you realized that Mercedes really didn’t love you, she was in it for the money. Spike, you had one of those moments when you lost your beloved child. You found out that just like most things in life, you sucked as a father. You brought life into this world for fleeting moments, only to see it taken away. Joe, you are about to have one of those moments this Sunday when you realize that you do not belong anywhere near the top of a wrestling card. But let me tell you, finding out your wife is a whore, losing a child, and finding out that you just aren’t that good…really don’t compare to the epiphanies that you will all bear witness to tonight. Your lives, your successes and failures, are nothing like my success…and you are about to find out that a man that you once all respected is really a man that you should idolize. A man that can play this game better than any other human being alive, and most of all, a man that none of you can hold a torch to.~*~*~
~*~*~We are taken once again to a time and place that is distant from the present. We recognize the halls of a hospital and we are looking into a hospital room. Inside the room are none other than Lance Ryan and a woman that appears to be a post pregnancy Jessica. Jessica is holding a baby in her arms and Lance is watching on with the glow of someone that is looking at his child, his son, for the first time. Jessica looks physically and mentally worn out and Lance looks like he is waiting for a good time to speak, wondering if Jessica can take the conversation that needs to be had here. Luckily his thoughts seem to be interrupted as Jessica speaks up first.~*~*~[/i]
Jessica: Lance, why are you here? You said that you wanted nothing to do with this child. You said that you were basically cutting us loose because you needed to pursue your dreams and you needed to see what you could do in the wrestling world.
Lance Ryan: The truth is…I still feel that way. But you were right nine months ago on that beach when you told me that everything that I had said before seemed like a lie. I cannot be a man that doesn’t own up to being a father. I cannot own up to being a man if I am not in your life in some way shape or form. This is my son. I have helped in the creation of…
Jessica: Jamie. I have decided that your son’s name will be Jamie.
Lance Ryan: Jamie. I love it, such a beautiful name.
Jessica: Lance, you need to realize something, I know that you want to be a part of his life, even of our lives maybe, but I cannot allow you to move in with us again, I can’t have Jamie grow up through his first years wondering who this man is that is coming in and out of his life. You know that I love you, and I know that I made it seem like you shouldn’t go after this dream, but you have to. You need to. You know that I love you and that is never going to change, and I believe that life holds a lot in the cards for us, but you firstly need to do what you need to do. I will always be a part of your life, and you will always be a part of mine, and maybe…maybe one day we can reunite and fulfill things that nobody could ever believe. I know that we would, and will make a great team.
Lance Ryan: You have no idea how much it makes me feel release to hear you say those things. That is basically what I wanted to say to you. I vow to always support you, to provide everything that you and Jamie ever need and I will be around as much as I can to at least see you…the love that I have burns deeply for you too. That is never going to change. Nobody can ever touch what I feel for you…the potential that I feel that we have.
Jessica: I love you. There is nothing else that can be said, for now though I need to be alone with our baby Lance, I need to be a mom, one day he will know who you are and we will again be a family. Mark my words. I know that if we both will it, it will be. That say will come when the world will be our oyster.
~*~*~With those words Lance knows that what is done is done. He gets to his feet and he and Jessica share a warm embrace and a long kiss. Then without a word, Lance touches the hand of his precious child and walks out of the room.~*~*~
~*~*~Our scene again switches back to Lance who is sitting alone again in the chair. He takes another haul off of his cigarette and then smirks into the camera.~*~*~[/i]
Lance Ryan: Never before have I kept my word to any bitch. No woman will control me I always said. My heart would always belong to me and me alone…but the truth was, that day, eighteen years ago…I gave my heart away and truer words have never been spoken…especially by me. Jessica and I have always been together, behind the scenes mind you. Every time we have had the chance we have met for nights of passion. We have had sex that could shake down the foundation of a house…I was ****ing her when I was with Cassandra, I was ****ing her when I was with Kelly Fox…Jessica has always been a part of my life. You see, I never lost touch with her or with Jamie…it was all a lie…all lies to make the people feel sorry for me and feel like I had been a tormented father for all of these years. Jamie has known his father since he was five years old. It was then that I started telling him of the industry, it was at that young age that we, Jessica and I, started showing Jamie the ropes and how to succeed in life and in the wrestling business. The first family of wrestling we always called ourselves, and little did everyone know that we were always there, always working behind the scenes and planning for the day that is about to come.
~*~*~The scene again fades and this time we see ourselves in a court-room. There are a small amount of people in the room. We recognize Brad Kane, Lance Ryan, Matthew Ryan, Cassandra Ryan and Zell Ryan, and also seen in the back of the room we recognize Jamie Ryan and Jessica…two people that were not known at the time to us, or Cassandra.~*~*~[/i]
Judge: Lance Ryan, if you would, please let us know what your feelings are towards these proceedings. You stand to lose half of your assets and custody of your child, the young Zell Ryan.
Lance Ryan: Honestly your honor, I speak from the heart when I tell you that I could care less. If this woman feels that she is entitled to half of what I have worked my entire life for because she ****ed me a few times and gave birth to that pile of ****ty diapers over there, so be it. All that I know is that I don’t want her, that child, or anything to do with them to be any part of my life. They are killing me quickly every day that I have to be in their presence. Your honor, I am a wrestler, I live on the road, I don’t want to be tied down, thus, whatever you and that bitch deem fit to take, it’s hers.
Judge: Sir, I must tell you that I have never seen such a deliberate lack of love for two people that you share a bond with. I am disgusted to have you in this court-room today. It is in the best interest of Zell Ryan to have his sole custody given to Cassandra, and it is in their best interest to have half of all of your assets liquidated to them. Also, as they need a place to live, I am also giving them one of your houses as of one week from today. If there is no other business, I will have the documents drawn up and I suspect that I will not need to worry about those documents being enforced?
Lance Ryan: No your honor.
Judge: Very well. This court is dismissed.
~*~*~The judge slams his gavel and then Cassandra, her lawyer and Zell leave the court-room quickly as do all of the other unknown people that were present. After everyone else is gone, Jessica and Jamie approach Lance and Lance gets to his feet and takes Jessica in his arms. They share an embrace again and they grin as they stare into one another’s eyes.~*~*~[/i]
Jessica: Perfect. That could not have gone any closer to what we planned if we wrote it all ourselves. Now it’s onto stage two. We need to make you look more disheveled and more broken down than anyone has ever seen you. After all, you did just have your mean spirited woman take your child and all of what you own in a court of law. The people need to know what she has put you through. It is going to destroy you even more of course when you find out that she has gone behind your back and started to sleep with your son Jamie.
Jamie: Indeed. It’s a shame that an old cougar like her can’t keep her hands off of the next generation of the Ryan family. The people are going to be disgusted when they find out that she seduced me.
Lance Ryan: Are you sure that you are ready for your part son? This is a huge role. This is the first time that the first family of wrestling will be together on screen. This is the start of something epic.
Jamie Ryan: I am absolutely sure that I am ready. Are you ready to have me “put you on the shelf” when I put you through those tables?
Lance Ryan: The sooner we get through that stage, the sooner doomsday for nCw will come.
Jessica: That sorry piece of **** is going to regret the day that she ever met Lance Ryan and the Ryan family.
~*~*~The scene fades and once again we are back to Lance Ryan. He is laughing loudly now to himself as he thinks back on what he did to Cassandra and her poor pathetic life.~*~*~[/i]
Lance Ryan: What a poor soul. She was never anything more than a pawn in my game. Never did I love her, never did I expect to spend my life with her…she was nothing more than one more step to what is going to come this Sunday. All of you fell for it though. You all felt that poor Lance was watching his entire life fall before his eyes, you all couldn’t believe that a woman that I was deeply in love with could possibly take everything away from me like she did, and the best part of all is that when I ridiculed her in front of the world and took back everything that I had earned…you all cheered me. You all looked to me as the greatest man in the world for showing that dirty good for nothing bitch the gutter that she would live in. They say it best when they say hook, line and sinker. That wasn’t the worst though. The world never feels more sorry for a man that has lost his father figure…the man that showed him how to live and how to succeed by being honest and trustworthy.
~*~*~The scene fades one more time to a scene that we remember from last month. Lance sitting on a hospital bed and despondent. The doctor is in the room and explaining to Jamie and Matthew that Lance hasn’t spoke for days and that he hopes that the sight of him will help them along. The two then go into the room and relive a moment that we all remember well. This moment of course came after Lance checked himself into a mental hospital after the passing of his father figure and grandfather, John Ryan. We watch everything play out and then we see something that we didn’t see before. We watch as the doctor comes back into the room and he removes his smock and moustache. We suddenly recognize Lance’s son, Jamie Ryan.~*~*~[/i]
Jamie: Lance, I am glad to see that you are starting to come around. I know that dealing with the loss of a loved one can be hard. I am sure that John was indeed a great influence upon your life.
Lance Ryan: Yes, if only I had ever had a grandfather named John, then maybe I would know what it was like to lose a strong willed human being like John.
~*~*~Lance, Jamie and Matthew share a laugh as Jessica walks onto the scene and is smiling from ear to ear.~*~*~[/i]
Lance Ryan: Those poor pathetic people will never know what hit them. I can see them all at home, losing sleep over the fact that their beloved champion missed Collision and now is facing the death of one of his heroes. Can you imagine the cheer that they are going to give to me when I walk out that curtain to face Trent and Steve? I am going to be overcoming all odds just to show up in that ring in the mental state that I am in.
Jessica: Oh sweetheart, how on earth are you ever going to be prepared to wrestle that match after the heartbreak that you have faced in the past few months? First that horrible breakup with Cassandra, then you found out that Jamie was back and that he hated you…and now…now…Johnny is dead. How are you still alive, much less ready to fight?
~*~*~Lance jumps to his feet and wipes the makeup off his face that was made to make it look like he hadn’t slept in days.~*~*~[/i]
Lance Ryan: I could go right now…but better to let them worry about me for a few more days.
~*~*~The scene fades back to Lance now who is sitting beside a woman now, a woman that we recognize from a few small appearances over the past few weeks. Also sitting on the other side of Lance is Jamie. The three have their arms around one another and all are grinning.~*~*~[/i]
Lance Ryan: That’s right sports fans. There was no John Ryan. There was no death, and there was no heartache for me last month. I felt the pity emanating even from Trent Helms and Steve Awesome as they faced having to beat up a man that had gone through so much…all of that pain that I must be feeling…they couldn’t possibly face taking my title away from me. Easy money if you ask me. All of this, everything that you know about Lance Ryan is a ****ing lie. A well thought up and elaborate lie about a man that really doesn’t even exist. But who could have thought up such a plan?
Woman: Well, while I cannot take all of the credit, what I can say is that it was easy to find fool proof ways to cement our legacy before it even began when I had money coming in hand over fist from a successful and loving partner. Seamless is what it was.
Lance Ryan: That’s right. Jessica…or as you will know her…Jessy Rayne. The mother of my precious son Jamie and the woman that is truly the bitch behind the brawn in my career. Eighteen years in the making and the entire nCw world is about to feel the shake of the ground beneath them Sunday…the foundations will be falling. But don’t worry, there is another surprise to come…Sunday…you will see.
Now, this is usually the time when I focus on my opponents and tell you why they will lose, why they suck and why they don’t match up to me, but I think that today’s history lesson speaks well enough for me. There are only two facts that need to be known going into this match. The first is that none of those three men knows what they are getting into. Trent, Spike and Joe have just discovered that the man that they all know and respect…never existed. It’s been a game all along. None of you know what the hell to expect when I get into the ring this Sunday, and as I said, there is one more piece of the puzzle to come…but who can it be?
The second fact is this…I no longer care about the gold. Sure, I love to be the champion, but there are better things to do than be a poster boy for a company that one really doesn’t care about. Those things you will find out soon. The reality is that win or lose on Sunday Lance Ryan is not going away. I never wanted to retire, nor will I. The nCw is only now going to get to know just how ruthless Lance Ryan is and can be. Sunday is a new beginning. With or without the title the terror is now rising and with or without the title you all still have nothing…and I have everything.
