“I would not agree to participate in any form of warfare again. Wars have proved nothing, other than that everyone emerges from them as a loser in some way or another.” - Jack Davis, oldest survivor of WWI at 107yrs old 2002.
[green]::The sound of gunfire fills the air. Men screaming, some in pain, some in anger. Explosions throw debris and dust into the atmosphere, blinding and suffocating all. Bullets whiz past as we advance up the battlefield. Soldiers run past us, heading to the front line whilst some men who have seen too much to keep a steady head flee the opposite way in retreat. Machine gun fire rattles off in the background as the screams get louder and the anguish grows. We pass a dying soldier laying helpless in the water logged field. His left leg has pretty much been blow to shreds, his camo uniform is soaked with blood from the wound, he has accepted his fate and lies there looking up towards the night sky where the stars are shining brightly over the battle field. A mans arms come into view and removes the soldiers helmet. The wounded man looks up, deviancy in his eyes. We stare back into the mans eyes and within a few seconds we have pretty much shared our stories of being in this war. We know the pain and suffering we‘ve gone through for this fight of a greater good. No words are said, they don’t need to be said. The wounded man reaches out and grabs his pistol, and hands it to the man looking down at him. Although we can’t see the other man we feel his hesitation as a thousand and one thoughts rush through his head right now::
This man is someone’s child, maybe he even has some brothers or sisters.
How the hell can I end this mans life?
::The wounded man grimaces in pain, tears well up in his eyes as he looks at us, pleading for a quick release from this mortal coil::
Suffer no more, my friend.
::The man places the gun nozzle on the floored man’s forehead. A slight nod of acknowledgement from the dying man and then it’s all over. Although the bang doesn’t match up to the explosions going on around us, it was the loudest bang that we’ve ever heard. It’ll never leave us. The man slumps down, his head splatting into the soft soil underneath him. The bullet hole in his head begins to trickle blood slightly as the arms in view drop the gun to the ground. Our vision moves away from the dead man and looks up, taking in our surroundings. Is it all worth it? At the end of this war, will everything be okay? Will the end justify the means? Probably not. The result of this match will indeed prove nothing. Our soldiers will continue to honour and serve for their stables after this war until they can no longer go on. We are soldiers and we are born to fight.
The scene switches and we see a bloodied and exhausted Jack Manson, catching his breath down in one of the barbwire laden trenches. Bullets ricochet across the edge of the trench, causing sloppy mud and water to fly down to the trenches. Manson looks down at his boots squelching in the mud. He drops to his knees and his camo uniform immediately becomes soaked around the knees and shins. His gun falls helplessly from his hands as he looks on at his men, fighting the good fight. Opposite him Xavier Williams is peaking over the trench wall, holding his rifle and firing aimlessly into the darkness, firing towards the area where the bullets are coming from. Williams is also bloodied, and looks exhausted. He‘s running purely on adrenaline. It won‘t last. Suddenly everything slows down, imagine bullet time if you will. Manson hears a low groan from behind him and he slowly turns and witnesses Rob Diamond holding his right arm in pain. He falls back and rests against the muddy trench wall. Manson rushes over and checks Diamonds arm. Useless now. Manson shouts for a medic, for anything, but nobody comes. There‘s a large explosion just above them and they are soon showered with rubble and dirt. Tanks. As the dust partially settles Manson comes up from his cover. His ears are ringing and his vision is blurred from the shockwaves of the blast. He looks toward Diamond and sees his comrade… dead. Manson fills up with anger and rage. A rage he‘s never felt before in his entire life. He screams out in anger has he turns to Xavier Williams and shouts something to him. Manson picks up his rifle and gives one last look towards Xavier and then, he climbs out of the trench and runs towards the darkness. Xavier is soon and following Manson. Both men are firing their rifles as they head towards the enemy. Men are being blown to bits all around as the two soldiers continue on their harrowing journey. Suddenly Xavier is shot straight through the shoulder and stumbles, losing his footing. He manages to keep himself from going over though and continues through the pain shooting through his arm, almost preventing him from holding his gun up to fire. Manson looks back to make sure he is okay and then turns round. He‘s knocked from his feet high into the air. He doesn‘t know what hit him. He lands hard on the ground, winded. His gun falls a few feet away from where he‘s lay. He hears Xavier shouting out in anger as he runs past him. Manson sits up slightly and sees Xavier drop his gun and throw a hard punch at a man who Manson can‘t quite make out. The two men fall to the ground and Xavier is on top of the attacker, raining fists down into the mans face. Manson tries to get up but feels a sharp pain in his stomach preventing him from doing so. Two men are stood above him, stomping him down into the ground. He tries to curl up and protect his ribs and vital organs but it doesn‘t help. Jack closes his eyes tightly, wishing and praying that this pain will stop. He can‘t take it any more. He doesn‘t need to keep going through this suffering. Kill me now he thinks to himself. Suddenly the blows cease and Jack opens his eyes. Is he dead? Not quite. He‘s still on the battle field. The two men have gone and Manson slowly gets up. All he can see are men fighting each other. Their guns have gone, and now it‘s down to each man‘s bare hands to win this war. He recognises some familiar faces in the mass of bodies all kicking the **** out of each other. Xavier is beating down on Angel, Falcon and Ace are tumbling around on the ground trying to out do each other. Kole Kaos is on top of AJ Phoenix, his hands wrapped round his throat choking him. As Manson stands up he sees a looming figure coming closer to him. He knows this man as Jackhammer. Manson stands up, and readies himself for the fight. Jackhammer charges towards him and Manson charges in return. Just as the two men meet there‘s a bright explosion all around them. Manson sees the men around him disintegrate around him. He drops to the ground and covers up on the ground. He shuts his eyes once more, mainly due to the extreme blinding light that’s surrounded him. Then nothing. Silence. The guns have stopped firing, the men have stopped screaming and shouting, tanks have stopped rolling, and the explosions have ceased.
Manson opens his eyes as his vision readjusts itself. He gets up and looks around the battlefield. He‘s not sure what‘s real and what‘s imaginary now. That vision just now, what did it mean? All it did was show him the battle. He stands up tall and looks around. He‘s the last man standing. After the hellish war he and his team mates have been through, he‘s the last man standing. Of course, that‘s what it all meant. Overcoming the adversity brought by Social Enemies, Lethal Intent, and Corporate Empire. Out of all the men fighting in this match, He is the last one left::[/green]
[red]JM: So here we are. It’s almost D-Day for us eight men. After, well, after what seems like an age of us being down each others throats the time has come for us to meet in that ring and kick the living **** out of each other till there’s only one of us left. It’ll be quite a night guys won’t it? I’m looking forward to this match I gotta say. I know I’ve been kinda lax about the matches I’ve been involved in these last couple of weeks and for that I do apologize. I apologize to my Social Distortion team mates, and also my opponents. I didn’t give you the fight you all deserved. However, this week I get to rectify that little setback. And I get to shut up a few of the Social Distortion doubters out there who think we are the weakest link in this match, or that we are pretty much dead and buried because Spike left us. We don’t need Spike, and we are far from dead and buried. Sure Diamond, Dominicus, whatever the hell he wants to call himself these days, can’t string a win together, I’m in a slight losing rut also, and Xavier lost his title last week. But that’s nothing to get concerned about. That’s just a set back for us. We will overcome this problem by winning the stable “war” at Battle Grounds.
I feel like I’m holding the whole weight of the world on my shoulders right now. People are expecting results. And we aren’t delivering. I’m not delivering. But it will be a true test of my character to overcome all this and be the leader I know I can be. Let’s face it, I’ve done nothing for the cause of Social Distortion just yet. All I did was inherit Spike’s war with Social Enemies. And with that I inherited **** with everyone else that hated Spike here in nCw. So yeah, I was took by surprise when I found out just how hard it is to keep control and order in a stable like Social Distortion. I’ve made mistakes, I admit it. I ****ed up. But I won’t let it happen again. I’ve learnt from my mistakes these past few weeks as Social Distortion leader.
Yeah we might be low in numbers, but I haven’t just sat back and allowed it stay that way. I’ve got very public interest in Xavier Cross joining us here. That guy is a very promising talent here in nCw that’s going far. And after Battle Grounds I’ve got a nice little surprise for Xavier regarding him joining us. What is it you ask? Well, you’ll see after Battle Grounds.
And speaking of members and Battle Ground, I guess I can let you all in on a little secret. At Battle Grounds I’ll be unveiling a new member of Social Distortion. I’ve worked hard to get this guy to join us. He was a bit hesitant to join us, especially considering the rumours that we are on our last legs. But I assured him that whatever the outcome of Battle Grounds, it isn’t going to be the end of Social Distortion. Once I told him of our plans for nCw, he was eager to be apart of it. So get ready for a surprise nCw.
Now, to the real important matters at hand. This huge main event that some of the nCw elite are part of. The reason I said some of the competitors are the elite is because some of them aren’t basically. So let’s just take a look at the people involved in this huge match. We’ve got me, Jack Manson, The Maniac. Yes, I referred to myself as the Maniac once again for this promo before anyone wants to try and pull me up on it and say I do it all the time blah blah. Now we all know plenty about me. First ever National champion, first ever two time National champion. One of the first few people to step foot in this incarnation of nCw, yeah, yeah we all know that. Good, remember it, and remember that my achievements here far outweigh what I ain’t achieved just yet. So anyone who thinks I’ve fell off the perch, or lost my desire to win, they can go **** themselves.
Who else is in this match? Well Lethal Intent are involved. AJ Phoenix and Jackhammer are representing this insignificant group. Yeah that’s right boys. Your group is insignificant. At the end of the day all you chumps in Lethal Intent saw what was going on between the big boys all joining together to keep each other safe and stuff, and thought to yourselves “****, why have none of those great groups came in for any of us? I just don’t understand it”. So instead you boys got together one day, and decided to join together and please your needs to be noticed by us all.
Does it surprise you that I don’t even know who is in Lethal Intent other than AJ Phoenix and Jackhammer? I bet most people don’t know who is in Lethal Intent.
Jackhammer, the National champion. The worst National champion in nCw history. You allowed Sexy Jason to steal that title from you. Sexy ****ing Jason! I mean dude, how could you let that happen? You are a disgrace to the National champion Jackhammer, and the sooner you lose that title the better. Save yourself the embarrassment of losing the title to someone like Sexy Jason and just hand the title over and crawl back under a rock, or wherever you came from. In fact I’ll give you a helping hand on Sunday and I’ll kick you back to your place of origin. You’re way out of your comfort zone in this match Hammer. You won’t last long in the top tier. You ain’t even headlined Collision yet and you’ve been put in a pay per view event. I say it’s lucky. If it wasn’t for this stable war you wouldn’t even be here. You would probably be opening the show with a title defence against some loser like Sexy Jason.
There isn’t much to say to you Jackhammer because you are a mere insect to me. You are of no importance to me mate. Turn up, don’t turn up. It won’t make a difference in this match to be honest.
And I also have AJ Phoenix to fight against. To put in place. AJ, the new X-Division champion. Congratulations on taking that title from Xavier. A job well done. But like Angel found out when he took the title from Xavier, He will be back, he will get up from this loss and come back stronger than ever. You have re-awoken the beast that Xavier Williams has inside of him. I might not even get to have a pop at you in the ring because Xavier will be too busy ripping you a new one and smashing your face into the canvas.
Now yes I saw your promo and laughed at you calling me a has-been etcetera, etcetera. And I suppose I am a has been in a way. I am a has been National champion. I am a has been member of the biggest group nCw had back in the day with No Warning Shots. And I’m a has been a main eventer of many Collision shows and history making matches. So yeah I am a has been of many things. But that’s it. You still fail to acknowledge me as a threat to you and your lackey Jackhammer. And that will be your biggest, BIGGEST mistake AJ. You first came here bitching an crying over Spike Kane’s history and how you were somehow apart of it. And you so desperately wanted to prove to the world you were better than Ol’ uncle Spikey. But you didn’t get that chance because Spike failed to acknowledge you. What little bit of competition you may have been to him when he was still wet behind the ears had long since dried up when you entered nCw. Spike didn’t care for you, and I don’t care for you either. You are nothing AJ. A man dying to be noticed. A self proclaimed rising star of nCw. Until you are given a nickname like that from your peers, please don’t give yourself a nickname or moniker, it’s just plain sad. And you sir, are sad. You’re a sad, pathetic, sorry excuse for a fighter. You and your big, dumb, lumbering butt-pal Jackhammer don’t stand a cat in hells chance of walking out of Battle Grounds as the superior stable. Get that into your thick skull AJ, please for the love of god, before it’s too late and you end up lying in a hospital bed wishing you had taken my advice.[/red]
[green]::Manson looks around his surroundings. It’s bland he thinks, but it’s not the scenery that people are interested in::[/green]
[red]JM: Two down, four to go. I was going to save the best for last, but I feel I should put him out of his misery quick and fast. Angel, buddy. We’ve had a few run-ins now. I throw you from the top of the tron, we have a few scuffles, and now we get to settle the score at Battle Grounds. However we both know that score won’t truly be settled till we get our blood stained hands on each other with no interference from anyone else, right? This is just the prelude to our future battle. When that will be? I don’t know. Not immediately after Battle Grounds I hope, I’m trying to remember the last time I stepped into that ring and you weren’t there. Seriously Angel, I am getting tired of the same old slog that involves you.
First of all, please don’t waste your air time trying to disrupt the friendship me and Xavier have in Social Distortion. Filling Xavier’s head with grandeur isn’t something you need to be doing. He doesn’t need you to tell him he has outgrown Social Distortion. He probably knows this already. I know Xavier is destined for great, great things in nCw. But he knows that right now, he is fighting for Social Distortion. He is fighting for friendship and towards a goal by my side. Xavier Williams is my second in command. He knows his worth to Social Distortion is massive. And if Xavier has dreams that are greater than Social Distortion I won’t get in the way of that. You think you’re so great at manipulating people Angel, but you’re not. You won’t manipulate Xavier into anything. If your pathetic game plan is to try and turn Xavier against me at Battle Grounds then you’re failing. And like I said when Spike handed me the reigns of Social Distortion, all of the members are leaders in our own ways. I don’t order Xavier or Diamond around like I could do. That wouldn’t get us anywhere with the people we have here. We all have big ego’s and big ego’s like that do best not to clash. We are a close knit group, and I’ll be damned if you think you can take that quality from us and cause problems on the inside.
And whilst we are still talking about you and Xavier I may as well explain my actions at Last Stand. Although I’m pretty sure I’ve already done that somewhere along the way here. Xavier had no idea I was going to come and get involved in your match at Last Stand. All I said to him was I had his back. And I did. He didn’t need my help to take that title from you. But you were there on the top of that tron, and I just happened to be up there myself, watching the action. You were there, I was there, I saw my chance. I took it. Do I need a reason why I pushed you off the tron? No, I don’t. And to be honest I don’t have a reason why I did it. I certainly didn’t want to end your career. You have a great career ahead of you in nCw, who am I to rob you of it? And I wouldn’t like to spend a couple of years behind bars for killing you either. And I’m not a total complete bastard as to rob a wife of her beloved husband or take away a young daughters father. I wouldn’t have been able to live with myself if I had done that. I knew there was a chance you could be seriously injured from the fall, but you know what? I knew you would get up from that fall and carry on like nothing had happened.
Now yes I know you want to snap my neck blah, blah, blah. But really Angel. Get ****ing real. All of these stupid and empty threats about taking me out? Are you serious?! You aren’t going to snap my neck Angel, you aren’t going to kill me or anything like that so just stop right there. Think of the implications of you “snapping my neck”, what would happen? More than likely go to jail, lose your job, fail to support your family, not be able to see your daughter grow up, maybe get arse raped from some bigger and meaner men in the pen. You get the drift. It’ll probably be worse than death.
But, if that’s the game you wanna play then go ahead. No skin off my nose. I’m here, you know where I am. We’ll be in that ring together once again. Bring it the **** on Angel. I’m not gonna threaten to snap your neck, or to end your career, I don’t do those things. Nor do I or will I regret not taking things that far.
There’s probably a ton of other stuff I could go on about now. Maybe about your whore of a mother having a gang bang with six guys, or maybe your pathetic violent father who beat you constantly and turned you into the douche you are today. I could, but I chose not to. I reckon you have a hatred for me Angel, I don’t know, it feels that way ha ha. I don’t need to aggravate you any further going into this match. So I’ll leave it at that.
My neck is here to be snapped Angel, I dare you to do it. GO ON![/red]
[green]::Manson stares with a passion in his eyes towards the camera::[/green]
[red]JM: Now, Falcon. I owe you an apology. Where as it seems you have done a bit of research on me, I haven’t done the same on you. You have failed to even appear on my radar till now. I don’t know why, guess that’s just the way things go sometimes. In a way that kind of gives you an advantage over me. You knowing all about me and me not knowing a thing about you. But I don’t mind. I like the challenge this brings. I love unpredictability, and you Falcon, are unpredictable. I won’t know what you’re gonna do next in our match. It’s got me really excited to step in that ring with you.
I know you lost against Ace and Steve last week, so you’ll probably want some sort of revenge on him in our match. And that’s fine. I think we all have a certain someone we will be gunning for in this big match. Or maybe I’m wrong and you don’t care much for Ace anymore. Instead you might care more about Jackhammer and taking that National title off him. I for one hope you do. Jackhammer is a rubbish champion, you on the other hand would make a fantastic National champion. If you ever get the match you want I’ll be there in the front row cheering you on.
But in the mean time you’re just another man I have to overcome to be the one walking out of Battle Grounds the winner.
And finally I come to The Corporate Empire. Kole and Ace. Two men that need no introduction. Ace, I like to think you still consider me to be a threat, maybe not a big one, but a threat none the least. I have a knack for performing when the odds are stacked against me, and I have a feeling people are doubting me to be the man that I once was in nCw. I know I’ve not done as well as I could have done here so far. But neither have you. Sure you’ve had a few decent matches but you’ve never really gotten out of Steve Awesome’s shadow since he arrived. Look at him now, he’s facing Helms for the World title and you’re stuck at home nursing a retarded cat-woman and looking after your child! You could have been the one in that title match facing Trent, because we know you have the potential to be great, but you just don’t use it. You’re a lazy fighter. All this Conway-Jones era crap is stale and old. You are a just another generic face in nCw now.
When I first noticed you in nCw, I was absolutely ****ting my pants at facing you. I didn’t think I could beat you. And I was right. I couldn’t. You took me out. You were better than me Ace, I had good reason to fear you. But then what? You had a decent run as Tag champion, and… That’s it I think? Whereas I went on to get title shots, run with the big boys and make my name well known here.
I no longer fear you Ace. I know you can’t beat me in that ring anymore. Try as you might, you will fail. I’d like to end that with some kind of witty retort about cards and poker. But I’m not a poker player or interested in witty card humour. And it’s already been said before so why bother eh?
And finally Kole. Mr. Kaos. You are more than welcome to try and end my group of soldiers. But it can’t be done. Knock us down and we’ll keep getting back up from the ground, stronger than before. And why do people keep mentioning Tyler Jacobs being part of Social Distortion? Tyler is no longer with us. We keep in touch with him, and he sometimes sends ideas how way but this is my stable now. Tyler and Spike are gone.
However, you are a smart man and I do like your thinking regarding this title request. Will it come off? No I doubt it. The champions all know they will end up losing the titles and wouldn’t risk it in a match that has some nCw elites in it.
And you speak of advantages you and Ace have in this match up? Well… You boys aren’t the only ones with a few surprises up their sleeves heading into this match.
Now I could talk about how we are going to destroy the other stables in this match. But I don’t expect any of us to split up after this match. If anything it’ll make things more interesting. The losers will be desperate to get revenge and knock the top stable from the top of the mountain. It’s a win-win situation for us all. It’s only going to mean more big matches like this for us all.
And I can’t wait.[/red]
