Recently, I've been doing a ton of thinking. I've thought about this and I've thought about that and I found out that when I sit down, I still don't have the answer that I need. Why do some people get things that they don't deserve. I know I've gone over this but this person just doesn't need the things in life that make him happy. When you look at this person, they're the epitome of everything. They think they're the best thing since bread was invented.
I simply don't understand this concept of letting people get things in life that they don't deserve. I see these people, these drug dealers getting tons of money, even more then what some of these main event players in New Championship Wrestling make and they get to buy the best cars, the greatest TVs and so on. Where in the logic in that? Then you see these people who strike it big in the lotto. Some of the deserve it because they'd been struggling through life, working their way towards something they deserved but it burns me to see someone who already has everything, who has that three car garage get something they don't need.
There is a difference between want and need. There is a difference between the deserving and undeserving. Its like me going out into that ring and busting my ass to earn the respect. I don't deserve anyone to say "Hey Brad, you're awesome out there when you wrestle." I don't deserve it because quite frankly, I'm been a flake in this company. I'm always coming and going, mostly going because I can't keep my own crap straight. So now when someone says that I deserve the respect of my peers, I'm forced to shake my head in disagreement and it's just not being humble.
It's about recognizing when you gotta set things straight in life. That you gotta know when to keep going to earn their respect through months and years of hard work, earning their trust back instead of someone just saying that you need that respect because you might deserve it through another promotion, what you did there. It doesn't mean anything what I've done in that promotion or that promotion, all that matters is what I've done in this promotion.
I earned their respect last year by starting back up at Mind Games. I started the road to respect here in this company at this time last year. Then I went on to have match of the year at the next pay per view. So it's fitting that this time around, I'm on the opening preshow for this grand card. I don't mind being on the outside looking in because in the end, it's still a chance for my to ply my trade in front of the world, to earn that respect that I once had.
Its ironic though that in this preshow match, its being called an X-Division Battle. The very thing that I made my name in this promotion is coming back to me, the X-Division. I ripped through that tournament last year to claim that title as mine. It's a shame that it seems everyone has forgotten that at one time, I was considered the creator of the X-Division in this company. I had the first Assault X match in this promotion against Christian Kane and we made it so grand, so great that people wanted it to be the best match of the year. How many wrestlers can say that?
So while the X-Division has had all it's Cage Death matches or what have you, it looks to finally be getting back to what matters, wrestling. That's the signature of this division gentlemen, that's what were supposed to be about. The rest of the show has it's glitz and it's glamor with the guys fighting it out with interference and all the tools to make something legendary in the entertainment aspect. But us, we're supposed to go out there, bust our ass to give the "smart" fans what they want to see. That's wrestling!
Jimmy Zane, Nelly Angel and Ricky Johnson, the three men I have to battle it out against to show what the X-Division is all about. When I look at this group, I see four guys, not a single one the same wrestler. We all have our own style of wrestling that makes us who we are. That's what makes the X-Division so great is that varied style and I'm almost certain that on Wired, people will get the X-Division the respect it deserves.

A community gym with quite a few people in it. People of all sorts in fact. Most of them look like families of people who are out on a basketball court. They're cheering their hearts away for their loved ones as it looks like Brad Kane is in a basketball league, wanting to expand out from staying at home all the time, possibly making some new friends. He's sitting on the bench opposite from where he can see his family as they all wave towards him. He nods, wanting to make a big distraction for his team. A buzzer sounds as the player coach motions for Brad to go in. Standing up, he makes sure his white jersey top is tucked in as he jogs towards the scorers' table.
Number three going in.
The buzzer sounds again as Brad jogs onto the court, slapping the hand of a teammate. Brad's hair is slicked back into a ponytail as he has a headband on, keeping the sweat out of his eyes as it looks like he seen action today. He starts on defense as the clock starts back up. Two minutes left in the game as his team is down by five. The crowd cheers as Brad is guarding someone at least three inches taller then he is. Using quick hands, Brad is able to knock away a pass that goes towards his assignment as one of his teammates is able to steal the ball successfully. They start the offense up, not wasting a single moment as Brad is able to wiggle free and get open. He gets the ball as he squares up. Brad shoots as it goes in! The lead is cut in three as the crowd begins to go insane.
His family is standing up, cheering for him as he gets back on defense. He's on the point guard right now, trying to play lockdown D but he's too slow to keep up as the guard drives the lane, looking for a layup. It gets blocked as a taller teammater grabs the ball and runs it up the court. One minute left in the game as Brad tries to get free again and isn't able to. A teammate takes a shot as it clanks off the iron. Brad is able to sneak in for a rebound as he kicks it back out to a wide open player for a three... ITS GOOD! All tied up with about forty seconds left!
The opposing team calls timeout as everyone on Brad's team looks to be energized by the last two trips down the court. Everyone huddles around the player/coach.
Alright, here's what were gonna do. Andrews, you take number eleven. He nearly killed us last time down the court. Smith and Kane, you two sag back on your men, they haven't been shooting worth sh*t tonight. Lock down defense guys. On three Hunters.
One!
Two!!
Three!!!
Hunters!
The buzzer goes off again as everyone trots back out onto the court. Brad is on someone his size wearing the exact same number as the ball gets inbounded. He sags off, giving him some space as the ball gets passed to him. Brad goes up into his face as the guy thinks he can shoot a jumper over Brad as Brad leaps up into the air and gets a piece of it. The crowd cheers until they hear a whistle blow.
We got a foul on number three white. Two shots.
Brad has a what the hell look on his face as he gets up in the ref's face.
What in the f*ck was that call? I got all ball you blind son of a bitch. Pull your head out of your ***damn ass.
The ref goes to the scorers' table as he GIVES BRAD A TECHNICAL FOUL AND EJECTS HIM OUT OF THE GAME! The crowd boos as Brad looks livid. His teammate are forcing him off the court as he heads into the locker room. He slams his fist on a locker as he sits down on a bench. He hangs his head, almost in shame as he hears the crowd groan as the buzzer goes off. Everyone on the team runs into the locker room and pats him on the back, trying to comfort him after that huge mistake.
Man, that ref was dumb.
Thanks Paul. I hate getting kicked out of every game like this.
Well if you learned to keep that anger under control, you'd be better off. You're a good player Brad but come on, you can't get in the ref's face like that. This isn't pro wrestling you know.
The two chuckle as Paul goes off to his locker. Another guy pats Brad on the back, almost wanting to smack him in the back of the head.
Way to blow the game retard. Dur, I can get the ref's face because I do it for a living.
Back the f*ck off Jason.
I'll back off when you pull your head out of your ass. Fake ass bitch.
Brad stands up and turns around, seeing eye to eye with Jason.
What'd you just say?
You heard me. You're a fake ass bitch with that pro wrestling crap.
You wanna see how fake it is?
You gonna pretend punch me?
Nah, this is gonna be real...
Making a fist, Brad decks Jason back into a locker! Everyone hears the noise as Brad and Jason start to fight. The rest of the team tries to break it up as a voice begins to boom.
KNOCK THIS ***damn SH*T OFF!
The naturally stop as they look at their coach. He looks very pissed at everyone.
What in the hell are you doing? You're ***damn teammates, act like it! I made this team because I saw the best during tryouts. I didn't see a bunch of people fighting because who might have cost us the game. Sh*t happens, get over it. We got a game on Thursday. Kane, Smith, you two are suspended for it. Get the f*ck out of my locker room, right now.
Brad sighs as Jason wipes some blood off of his lip.
Yes Coach Williams.
They grab their bags and leave the locker room, not even exchanging a glance at one another. Brad heads out of the community center to see Megan waiting outside for him. Everyone else is gone as they must've taken two cars. Brad is still in his shorts and jersey, trying to stay warm in the cold Boston night. Megan smiles seeing her husband as she gives him a hug before they walk towards the car.
You were great out there tonight. I counted eleven points, three rebounds and four assists. Who cares what the ref thinks, you were awesome.
Brad nods his head, not wanting to talk about the game right now. Megan realizes this as she switches the tone.
Freya took the kids back home and said we can go get something to eat. How does that sound?
Sounds fine to me. I'll change in the car.
I'll help you.
He smiles as the car gets unlocked as they pile into the backseat. Thankfully it's dark out and its a good time to say goodnight.
