....Into the Fire
PREVIOUSLY....
The dining room is in a shambles as the lights have gone out, alarms ring out, smoke has begun to fill the room, tables, chairs and even pillars are thrown all over the place. In the corner where the Kane’s were sitting the table has been moved by the violent force, lying on the floor covering up his baby girls is Brad Kane, doing his best to protect his twins. Megan has Lily standing up and is dusting some ash off of her face. Spike is underneath the table, consciousness slowly returning to him....River however is unconscious on the floor and her head is bleeding. Freya and Lacey....are nowhere to be seen....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So now your sitting awaiting with bated breath for the conclusion, to find out what reall happened. To see if the Kane family can survive this tragedy.
, merely days before Revolution: Mind Games. But we're not going to conclude the drastic drama unfolding, no instead we're going to go back a few days...
Earlier this week.
We open up on a large park area, trees litter the skyline and a gravel and dirt track leads through the grassy area. In the distance we can see a small black dot coming towards us as a steady pace.
Mind Games marks the anniversary of where my nCw career really picked up. This time last year I was at war with Lance Ryan and his little band of cronies so it's no real surprise that I stand here today fighting at another level of what may as well be the same war. It's still Lance versus me, but this time he has a different band of cronies, instead of surrounding himself with people who are somebody or will amount to being somebody....instead he has surrounded himself with a has-been and a never-was. Adam Knite and Joe Everyman respectivly of course...
The dot is still moving but the camera doesn't move, instead the voice over continues.
If Joe Everyman is really who the Age of the Revolution believes should be the face of this company, then they are more misguided than anybody thought so beforehand. For a few weeks we watched the build up, the "warning signs" about the imminent arrival of a faction, of a powerful faction that swore to change this place, we listened to their sermons...how they were opposed to everything the nCw had become, how people had raped this company and business....then the first thing they do is stake a claim for the nCw World Title...gee....thats really innovative there, that really shows how your upset with what nCw has become...it just shows one thing really.It shows that Lance Ryan, Adam Knite and Joe Everyman, are exactly the same as the people they despice so badly....irony at it's stupidest.
The dot is getting closer and now it's obvious its a person in sportsgear jogging.
So the Age of the Revolution are not only raping the very federation that made them, they're hypocrites, liars, and worse than the people they oppose. Worst of them all however is Joe Everyman, the man who believes he deserves a World Title shot. Please, thats like saying Scott Hall has the worlds best attendance record! Joe Everyman is nothing more than a leech combined with a prostitute. One minute he'll claim to be the best wrestler here, the only deserving roster member worthy of a title shot, the next...you wont have any idea where he is. Let's face it Joe you've beaten me once in my career, once when I was on a horrible downward spiral, every other time I have destroyed you, even at XHF's last ever show I destroyed you. Do you honestly believe you stand a chance here in nCw were I have risen above everybody but one person, one person I would call my equal....the very man you follow. Lance's Mind Games are the best, his words can sway even the toughest of minds....but you? You'd follow him for peanuts, just to be in the precense of somebody so accomplished...
The person, Spike Kane has now reached the camera. He stops and bends over with his hands on his knees to catch his breath, he then smirks as he looks at the camera.
]This Sunday Joe....you'll be in the precense of somebody just as accomplished as LAnce Ryan, you'll be beaten and battered by him, you'll be desroyed and sent right back to the land of obscurity once more where you can get yourself a stiffy over beating Milo Holland in a singles match, your single most greatest achievement.....you don't even deserve to be on the card for Mnd Games Joe, let alone in such a high profile match....but I will use you for all your worth, I will send a message to LAnce and Adam, using your body to do so....and trust me Joe....I know you will when I say these words....it will NOT...be ....pretty.
Spike grins his trademark sinisters look before he cracks his head and begins to job on past the camera and off into the distance.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We come back to the hotel scene now. Fires rage all over the place as the building begins to fill with smoke. Brad Kane is on his feet holding his two twin daughters. He runs across the room to Megan who is leaning over Lilly, Lilly is crying as Megan tries to comfort her.
We have to get out of here, where's Mike and River?
Brad looks over near the wall were Spike is sat on the floor with River's head in his lap, tears are streaming down his face covered in blackness from the smoke. Brad climbs to his feet motioning for Megan to do the same as the crouch and cross the room.
Spike get up, we've got to go!
She...she....she won't wake up!
Snap out of it bro, we need to get her and ourselves out of here...NOW!
Spike's eyes seem to roll back into focus. He grits his teeth as he nods at Brad. He climbs to his feet, lifting his pregant would-be fiance with him. Brad leads the way managing to hold both the girls in one arm. Megan cradles Lilly as she panicks following Brad whilst Spike looks like some kind of martyr as he holds his unconscious girlfriend behind them all. Almost with ease they manage to reach a Fire Exit and begin to head head down the two flights of stairs. As Brad kicks open the door for a brief moment theyare blinded by the bright lights of the police, ambulance and fire vehicles that have their siren lights flashing. In an instant fire men are upon them helping them away from the building. One runs up to Spike in particular..
Help me...she's unconscious, and she's pregnant...
The fireman nods as he takes River off of Spike and heads towards a paramedic, Spike follows almost in some kind of trance. Meanwhile Brad and Megan stand near another ambulance as the medic checks over the children, suddenly Brad's head snaps as he hears something that sets his heart on fire.
Lacey: DAAAAADDDYYYYYYYY!!!
Brads jaw drops as he sees Lacey screaming for him out of a third floor window. Almost at the same time a secondary explosion goes off in the building. Firefighters on the ground floor are sent sprawling and the window itself blows outwards just after Freya grabs Lacey and disappears inside the building.
Oh my god...Lacey....Freya....
Brad tries to go into the building but instead is being held back by three firefighters.
Firefighter 1: Sir, it is not safe to go near the building!
Brad begins to struggle against the guards. Megan sees this and then looks around spotting Spike distraught as he talks to the paramedic looking over River. She runs over to him and pulls him towards her.
Mike! Mike!! Lacey and Freya....they're still in there!!
Spike's face turns from one of anguish to one of terror, the thought of losing the two women in his life in one fell swoop quickly taking him over. He shakes his head trying to get rid of those thoughts. The firefighter that helped him bring River over looks at him as if to tell him he can't go.
What's your name?
Firefighter 2: Sheppard, John Sheppard...
You got family?
John Sheppard: Brother and a wife yeah....kid on the way...
Would you do anything to keep them alive?
John Sheppard: I get your point...I can't let you go in there with good conscience, but I can't stop you either....so...I'm coming with you.
Spike's jaw locks with determination as he turns and jogs towards Brad who is screaming and shouting at the firefighters. Spike instinctivly smacks one of them right in the face flooring him. Brad quickly acknowledges the situation and the three of them sprint towards the hotel as the firefighters help their fallen comrade.
You know you'll get done for that....
Lacey and Freya are more important.
A glimmer of respect flashes over Brads face just as they breach the hotel. The stairs immediatly in front of them are aflame and half destroyed so they turn to the left and begin to head through the slowly destroying building. The flames lick at them but luckily enough they escape the vast majority of damaged areas. Brad stumbles across a staircase and they begin to make their way up, the Firefighter Sheppard taking the lead. It seems almost too good to be true as the climb the stairs and as usual it turns out to be just that. Part of the staircase has been destroyed, Brad slams his fist into the wall, barely able to control his rage.
I'll boost you up, then Sheppard and you two can lift me up, yeah?
They all nod in agreement and begin helping each other up, the fire in this part of the building doesn't seem to be half as bad but it is still there. Brad gets up and turns to help Sheppard as Spike boosts him up. They both then turn to Spike to try and help him. Spike jumps but they miss him, suddenly flames begin to reach the part where Spike is he panicedlly jumps and this time they catch him. The two struggle as they drag him up just as the floor beneath him gives out.
Christ....that was close.
Brad looks at him as if he wants to slap him, but suddenly frustration takes over again as he sees there way down the corridor is completley blocked by fallen debris.
Now what the hell are we supposed to do?
John Sheppard: We could go up to the next floor and find a way down..
Good idea.
So they take off up the stairs, one after the other. They reach the next floor which has seen just as much damage from the fire but there is enough space to walk.
John Sheppard: Be careful where you walk. The structure of the building isn't very sa-
Wha-fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!
Spike had stepped onto a poorly supported part of the floor and fallen through to the floor below.
ARGH!! JESUS CHRIST!! MY ARM! MY ARM!!
Negating all safety Brad jumps down through the gap and grabs the pillar that had fallen onto his brothers arm and uses all the strength he can muster to get it off. Spike rolls away as he clutches his arm in pain. Sheppard hangs and then drops down from above.
John Sheppard: You ok?
I'm good, it just hurts like hell....
]color=pink]SPIKEY!! BRADLEY!!![/color]
Freya had been sitting below the window clutching Lacey close to her. Now she's on her feet and sprinting towards her brothers. She lets Lacey down who all but jumps into Brads arms, Freya however grabs Spike and hugs him before dragging Brad over too.
John Sheppard: Not to ruin you moment guys...but...fire, destroyed building....y'know, imminent death..
Spike nods as he clutches at his burnt arm and begins to follow Sheppard, Freya is with Spike as Brad holds Lacey as if his life depended on it. Sheppard kicks open a door which leads to an outside fire escape at the back of the building. Then the camera changes to Megan standing out the front her arms folded as she paces worried sick. Suddenly a massive explosion all but levels the building, not a single part of it left untouched.
NO!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Megan drops to the floor and cries loudly and visibly, before she turns to see her family slowly walking towards her from half a block down the road.
....thank....god!
She gets off her knees and runs full pelt towards them almost clotheslining Brad as she grabs him in a tight embrace crushing Lacey between them. Eventually they all share a big hug, Freya even gets Sheppard involved in the hug too. Before he pulls Spike away from them.
John Sheppard: What we did was excessivly stupid...your all going to need medical checks, but you drasticly need to get that arm seen too, ok?
Spike nods at the guy accepting everything.
Hey wait.....thank you....umm...you like wrestling at all?
John Sheppard:Yeah, big nCw fan...
So you knew?
John Sheppard: It didn't matter, I'd have done it anyway.
Thanks Sheppard....to show my appreciation, stop by for Mind Games on Sunday, I'll sort you out with some ringside tickets....you deserve them...
And just like that the scene fades as Spike begins to faint from the pain of his arm.
