...you get too careful with the steps you choose
You don't care about winning but you don't want to lose
After the thrill is gone...
You don't care about winning but you don't want to lose
After the thrill is gone...
The scene opens up inside the living room of Joe Everyman's house. It is pitch black outside, with only a few cars occasionally driving by. The camera moves around to the living room, where everyone is sitting around, watching a movie. The closing bits of the movie ends, and Scotty Callaway gets up and flicks the lights back on.
Scotty Callaway: I still can't believe that Maria and Joe got to stay here for Thanksgiving.
Maria Williams: Well, my parents wanted to meet you.
Amber Williams: Plus I warned them how Joe and you are around eachother.
Joe Everyman: We're not that bad...are we?
Maria Williams: Don't you remember when you two...
The camera fades in and out with wavy lines, triggering a flashback sequence.
It opens back up 2 years previous. It's in an old XHF locker room.
Joe Everyman: Ok Scotty, hold this.
Joe hands Scotty a big bucket of water. Joe then reaches down and grabs a big bag of little sparkles. They both slowly walk out into the hallway and see someone coming. It's Mark Evil.
Joe Everyman: Now!
Scotty then throws the giant bucket of water on Evil, and Joe throws the bag of sparkles on him, coating him with them. Joe and Scotty then bolt down the hallway and around the corner.
The scene then waves back in to see the living room. Joe and Scotty are laughing hysterically. Maria and Amber are both shaking their heads.
Scotty Callaway: Still bums me out that Joe wasn't there.
Amber Williams: Well, my parents are kinda picky, and only wanted to focus on you.
Maria Williams: I still remember when Joe had to meet mom and dad...
The scene fades into waves again and triggers another flashback.
It opens back up into November of 2006, Thanksgiving Day. Joe Everyman is sitting alone at a large dinner table, that is loaded with all kinds of Thanksgiving goodies. Joe looks very nervous. Maria then walks in and puts her arm around Joe's shoulder.
Maria Williams: Come on hunny, I'm sure everything will be ok.
Joe Everyman: How are you so sure?
Maria Williams: I'll be here, and I'll help with anything you need.
Just then, Maria's parents walk into the room. Her father is carrying in the turkey, and puts it onto the table right in front of Joe. Joe licks his lips at the sight of it. Maria's father and mother then sit down opposite Joe and Maria.
Roger Williams: So, this is your Joseph?
Joe Everyman: Joseph?
Maria Williams: Yep daddy, this is him.
Roger Williams: He seems fairly big...Joe, what do you do for a living?
Joe Everyman: I wrestle.
Maria's mom then chimes in.
Heather Williams: Wrestle? Like...in the movie Fight Club?
Joe Everyman: No no no, like professional wrestling.
Maria Williams: Oh no...
Roger Williams: A professional...wrestler?
Joe Everyman: Well, yeah
Roger Williams: Isn't that stuff fixed?
Joe Everyman: No, not at all.
Roger Williams: Do you work for that ****ty WWF?
Heather Williams: Roger, watch your tongue!
Joe Everyman: That's WWE...and no, I don't
Roger Williams: Still say that is a crock of failures...
Everyone then eats their meals in silence.
The scene then fades back in.
Scotty Callaway: It was really that bad?
Joe Everyman: It was horrible. Maria also told her dad that day that she was also a pro wrestler.
Scotty Callaway: Wow...how did he take that?
Maria Williams: You know how Amber and I rarely talk about our parents?
Scotty Callaway: Yeah.
Maria Williams: There ya go.
Joe Everyman: Well Scotty, how was your experience there?
Scotty Callaway: Well...
Everyone sits around and looks around.
Scotty Callaway: No flashback for this?
Joe Everyman: Guess not.
Scotty Callaway: Hmm...well, trust me, it was bad.
Amber Williams: Well, I think I'm ganna go lay down for a bit.
Joe Everyman: Ok, guest room is open.
Amber then gets up and starts walking to the stairs. She stops at the first step and looks back at the couch.
Amber Williams: Scotty?
Scotty Callaway: Yes?
Joe Everyman & Maria Williams: GO!
Scotty Callaway: Oh!
Scotty then gets up and bolts after Amber who is already walking up the stairs.
Maria then looks over at Joe, who has a puzzled look on his face.
Maria Williams: What is it Joe?
Joe Everyman: Just thinking about my match this Sunday.
Maria Williams: I think it's great that you made it onto Transgression!
Joe Everyman: Yeah...but I still don't know who the hell this guy is.
Maria Williams: Well, lets run down the list of people it could be. He's fairly big, so that rules out alot of people.
Joe Everyman: Yeah...but, if I had to guess, it would be one of 4 guys.
Maria Williams: Who are?
Joe Everyman: Well, theirs always Mark Evil.
Maria Williams: Well, yeah
Joe Everyman: But all he is is a turd that won't flush.
Maria laughs.
Joe Everyman: Um...the others would be Deathtrain, Curtis Bauer or Kuroi.
Maria Williams: Bunch of losers there.
Joe Everyman: That may be true, but they are still a part of my past. If it is any one of them...it would have to be Deathtrain.
Maria Williams: You really think so?
Joe Everyman: Well...he always was able to beat me, and then finally, I beat him. He must have thought of some way to get revenge on me.
Maria Williams: Maybe...but I still don't know. Oh, do you want anything to drink?
Joe Everyman: Um...I'll have a Pepsi.
Maria Williams: Ok, I'll be right back.
Maria gets up and walks into the kitchen. The camera then moves around and centers on Joe.
Joe Everyman: I need to figure out who the hell this guy is before this Sunday. I have so many leads...but who?
Joe leans back onto the couch and ponders this for a moment.
Joe Everyman: I know it's someone from my past...but who?
Maria then walks back out and hands Joe his Pepsi.
Maria Williams: I'm ganna go hit the sack. I'll see you in a little bit, ok? I love you
Joe Everyman: Ok, I'll be in in a sec...I love you too.
Maria then walks upstairs and dims the lights down.
Joe Everyman: I don't know who the hell this Masked Man is...but I know he won't be able to hold me back. Ever since I got kicked out of the Revolution, I've felt this presence...almost, like it was a part of me that was missing. Maybe this Masked Man is the answer to that. Or...maybe I am just rambling on for what I want to happen. All I know is that I will find the answer this Sunday. I will unmask this Masked Man. You hear that Masked Man? I will find out who the hell you are this Sunday at Transgression. I will unmask you, and show the world what a coward you really are.
Joe's words fade as the screen turns to black.
Now you will receive us. We do not ask for your poor or your hungry. We do not want your tired and sick. It is your corrupt we claim. It is your evil that will be sought by us. With every breath, we shall hunt them down. Each day we will spill their blood 'til it rains down from the skies. Do not kill, do not rape, do not steal; these are principles which every man of every faith can embrace. These are not polite suggestions. These are codes of behavior and those of you that ignore them will pay the dearest cost. There are varying degrees of evil. We urge you lesser forms of filth not to push the bounds and cross over into true corruption, into our domain. But if you do, one day you will look behind you and you will see we three and on that day you will reap it. And we will send you to whatever god you wish. And shepherds we shall be, for thee my Lord for thee. Power hath descended forth from thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command. We shall flow a river forth to thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti.
