::The scene opens up inside Manson's private gym. He's surrounded by a group of trainers, including his ex manager Ol' Tony. Seems Manson has been busy on his leave from nCw. The trainers are all stood watching him, analysing him. Tony is shouting orders at him. We move closer to the group and can see Manson is doing a few rounds on the heavy bag, his muay thai roots still with him as he lays a powerful combo to the back, rocking it forcefully. The sweat drips from his brow as the winter sun gleams through the window. As we get closer still we hear that Tony is informing Manson of the teams involved in the tag team gauntlet match::
[blue]OT: Dirty Deal.[/blue]
[red]JM: Who?[/red]
[blue]OT: N.A.Z.I [/blue]
[red]JM: ... Please, worthless.[/red]
::Another combo, the trainers look on as more studying takes place::
[blue]OT: Redneck Renegades?[/blue]
[red]JM: Again, who?[/red]
[blue]OT: And Echoes of Freedom[/blue]
[red]JM: Got it, that all of em?[/red]
[blue]OT: Yep, that's all of them.[/blue]
::Manson stops and turns round, his grey workout vest soaked around the neck line from sweat::
[red]JM: You forgot one more team.[/red]
[blue]OT: I did?[/blue]
[red]JM: Yeah, late addition, the future tag team champions of nCw, The Upper Echelon![/red]
::Tony simply smiles wryly and rolls his eyes. Manson smiles cockily as he turns and throws a final hard roundhouse kick to the midsection of the bag. The trainers all quickly jot down information, information we don't need to bore ourselves with. Manson sits down on the bench next to the large ring in the center of the gym and wipes himself down with a towel. Tony comes over and sits with him as the trainers all walk off out the gym::
[blue]OT: Do you really need this "entourage" of trainers you got going on?[/blue]
[red]JM: Probably not, but it doesn't hurt to have the best of the best working with me does it?[/red]
[blue]OT: But you already got the best, you got Ol' Tony back in your corner. You don't need those "scientists".[/blue]
[red]JM: Ha, they aren't scientists, they are the best personal trainers money can buy.[/red]
[blue]OT: Yeah, and I bet not one of them has ever stepped foot in that ring, or even had a single fight in their lives.[/blue]
[red]JM: Possibly, but they know what they're talking about so they stay. You're still my main guy, don't worry.[/red]
[blue]OT: Damn straight. So come on Jack, the camera's are back in your life, i'm sure the fans want to know everything you've been up to since you left, and why have you returned? And most importantly, why bring back Upper Echelon?[/blue]
[red]JM: You sounded like Chad Lights for a moment there with all those questions. I'm sure some people do want to know where I've been and what I got up to etcetera. I could give you the full run down but I'd run out of promo time unfortunatley, so I won't. First is first, why I left in the first place.
After the stable wars had ended, I just felt drained. Emotionally and physically. I inherited Spike's war, a war I wasn't ready to take on my shoulders and fight. I was stupid. Even stupider to take control of Social Distortion, hence why I dis-banded the stable soon after.
I had to leave, I felt I had pushed myself as far as I could go in nCw, I felt I wasn't making the progress I should have been. After all, I'm Jack Manson, I was feared by many. And I lost that aura somehow, somehow it vanished. I was just another name on the roster, being left behind and getting stuck as Spike's lackey. I even betrayed all my beloved fans, the fans who made my job worth doing in the first place. I wasn't myself and called it a day. I had to leave, to truly get my focus and hunger back.
And so within four months of not doing anything with myself and living off the money I earned at nCw I got that old familiar feeling back. I missed it. Everything about it. I can't live without it, I know that now. So I made the decision to return, but not to nCw. I had only just returned from a short break months before, I couldn't just come back and expect things to be fine for me. Instead I did the whole touring thing. Joined a few indy feds, made an appearance here and there for a special one off match or two. Even worked some of the Japanese promotions, just to keep in shape and find that hunger.
And that's when I bumped into Davey. I had heard on the grapevine Ortega was also doing the rounds, so I made a few calls, spoke to a few people and managed to track him down. After that we met up for some drinks and got talking. About nCw, the state of things, Upper Echelon, unfinished business. You know all the stuff you would expect two friends to talk about after not seeing each other for a while.
Ater that night we decided to tour together, even got ourselves booked in a few tag team matches, not as the Upper Echelon, just to help each other out a bit. Our chemistry hadn't left us. Even in our first match I knew it was all there still, it never went away.[/red]
[blue]OT: Can I remind you just how unsuccessful Upper Echelons first outing was? And thanks to Ortega no less.[/blue]
::Manson frowns::
[red]JM: No you can not. I haven't forgotten anyway. That was then though, it's different this time. There's an understanding, a common goal. And stop interrupting me![/red]
[blue]OT: Sorry. Continue.[/blue]
[red]JM: To keep a long story short we both got tired of touring and agreed we had unfinished business back in nCw. We knew we wanted to return there one day when Davey suggested Metamorphosis. It was perfect. Metamorphosis, the process of change. Things in nCw have to be changed, and we decided to be part of that change, starting with the tag division. Initially we had a target set, to beat Spike and Trent for the gold, but Trent wanted no part in being tag champion with Spike, and Spike was more interested in trying to save nCw from AOTR. Obviously that went down the drain so we had to settle with being put in this tag gauntlet match, which is no big deal to me and Davey. We’re quite happy to take these joke teams to the cleaners before taking those titles as a reward.[/red]
[blue]OT: Man, still as cocky as ever I see.[/blue]
[red]JM: Come on Tony give me a break here. You read out the list of teams involved, ask yourself, do any of those teams really pose a threat to me and Ortega? Honestly now.[/red]
[blue]OT: All I’m saying is don’t take these guys lightly.[/blue]
[red]JM: I’m not going to. But lets have a team by team break down shall we? Let’s take N.A.Z.I, Hexx and Mimic. Two people who have had no success in nCw whatsoever! I don’t actually think either of them have won a match here, at least I can’t remember them winning any. Those two haven’t got a snowball in hell’s chance of coming out of Metamorphosis as tag team champions Tony, okay? Take it from me, they’ll be the first team to be eliminated from this match. It’s already decided.[/red]
[blue]OT: Okay so maybe you can afford to take these guys lightly, but the rest I wouldn’t be so sure about.[/blue]
[red]JM: Again, let’s look at who else is involved here. The Redneck Renegades. Couldn’t be more inbred if they tried really could they? I’m actually **** scared that some of their stupidity rubs off onto me during this match and I end up stringing non-coherent sentences together like those two. I mean how difficult is it to pronounce THAT and not DAT? You really expect me to take these two seriously?
Bo and Luke Duke are going to be schooled in the art of ultra-violence quickly and painfully. Hopefully my fists repeatedly smacking their heads will knock a bit of long lost sense into them? We would all be so lucky.[/red]
::Manson turns and looks towards the camera, seemingly forgetting Tony is next to him::
[red]JM: Now boys, I have done a bit of homework on you, namely watching your laughable promo’s and in-ring performances, just to gauge what nCw has to offer Upper Echelon now. And I gotta say, I’m not impressed. Even after all that gum flapping you did last week you still lost a match against a team equally as weak as you.
Do you know how embarrassing it is to have to face teams like you? I expected to face two of the most talented people nCw has to offer, that being Spike Kane and Trent Helms. So imagine my disappointment when I’m instead going face to face against two chump stains like you both. In fact, a whole other bunch of chump stains are in this match too! Already the year is off to a bad start and I haven’t even stepped foot in that ring yet. I guess that winning those tag titles will help ease the embarrassment somewhat, just a shame me and Ortega won’t be winning them from Spike and Trent. Guess you can’t have everything your own though eh boys?
Now it’s quite plausible you have no idea who I am, right? I’m “The Maniac” Jack Manson and you probably have no idea of my history with this place, so I won’t bore you with the details, but go ahead and get someone to read you the nCw history books, I don’t expect you to kill off any remaining brain cells trying to read it yourselves. Once you’ve done that only then will you two realise you have no hope of winning those tag titles this Saturday.[/red]
::He takes a swig from the bottle of cold water stood on the bench next to him, his grey vest seems to be slowly drying now::
[red]JM: Now, who else is in it?[/red]
[blue]OT: Dirty Deal? They beat Redneck Renegades recently on Trauma.[/blue]
[red]JM: Doubt it was very hard to do. Didn’t Dirty Deal lose to Joe Everyman and Scotty Callaway the other week?[/red]
[blue]OT: Er yes, I think they did.[/blue]
[red]JM: What else is there to say that Joe and co didn’t make painfully clear the first time round? I mean really, they seem just as stupid as Bo and Luke Duke. But these two are worse, not only do they lack talent, but they then blame that lack of talent on excessive alcohol intake. Fellers, if you wanna try and save face and tell the world you lost to Joe and Scotty because you were drunk, that’s fine. Only problem is… Nobody bought it. Maybe once you realise you can’t beat the Upper Echelon, you and the rednecks can form a little stable? The Idiots Society has a nice ring to it I feel.
And as for ruining our comeback? Won’t happen. You guys ain’t worth the time of day, I’ve had to fight constipation that’s harder than you two, probably smelt better as well. I don’t really want to waste much time talking about you guys, end of the day you’re just like the rednecks, worthless.[/red]
[blue]OT: You almost done? I’m hungry.[/blue]
[red]JM: Well go get something to eat then.[/red]
[blue]OT: Awesome![/blue]
::With that Tony scarpers off out the gym and to Manson’s kitchen, no doubt he’ll eat him out of house and home::
[red]JM: That brings us to the last team involved. Echoes of Freedom, Joe Everyman and Scotty Callaway. Those other teams may be worthless, but I know enough about Joe Everyman to know not to take him lightly. Remember Joe? The last time that happened you took the National title from me. And from that day onwards I swore to myself to never underestimate you again. And I won’t break that promise at Meta. But with that said, you aren’t exactly the rising star of nCw that you were right before I left. World title shots were on your agenda, big things were expected of you, and you bombed at the last hurdle. And the last few weeks you’ve been fighting obscurity, facing off against losers week in, week out. It’s demoralising Joe, to see what you’ve become. But don’t worry, I’ll help propel you back in the front pages of all the publications in the world. And it’ll be for all the wrong reasons. It won’t be “Joe Everyman, the rising star is back” no, it won’t be anything like that. It’ll be “Joe Everyman, loses it for Echoes of Freedom”. Because you will, you can’t handle the big time Joe, the pressure gets to you like its gotten to Ortega. Davey has since remedied that, but you haven’t. And at Meta you’ll fall flat on your face again, I just hope to have the pleasure of hammering the final nail in the coffin of your promising career.
As for your partner Callaway? There isn’t a thing he can do to change the outcome of this match. He can’t save you, he couldn’t even save himself from Sexy Jason. I do hope you both turn up at Meta, because if there is one team I’m looking forward to beating the most it’s you two. So please, bring you’re A game or whatever it is you bring and give me and Davey the pleasure of pinning you for the vacant Tag titles.
Remember this all of you. 11/01/09 Metamorphosis. The Upper Echelon, New tag team champions![/red]
::With that Manson gets up from the bench and walks over the doors exiting his gym. As he gets there he’s greeted by Ortega, both men shake hands as Ortega turns and walks with Manson through his home::
[red]JM: What’s up dude? Why are ya here?[/red]
[green]DO: I thought I’d come round and do a bit of training, maybe some sparring later?[/green]
[red]JM: Yeah, sure. I need to eat first though. And I’ve just cut a promo, it’s been on my chest since we returned, I’m sorry I didn’t wait for you first.[/red]
[green]DO: It’s fine man, we’ve both got our own things to say, The Upper Echelon promo will come. In the mean time just do what you gotta do.[/green]
::The scene fades to black as both men reach Manson’s kitchen::
[blue]OT: Dirty Deal.[/blue]
[red]JM: Who?[/red]
[blue]OT: N.A.Z.I [/blue]
