This city desert makes you feel so cold
Its got so many people but its got no soul
And its taking you so long
To find out you were wrong
When you thought it held everything
You still think that it was so easy
You used to say that it was so easy
But you're trying, you're trying now
Another year and then you'd be happy
Just one more year and then you'd be happy
But you're crying you're crying now
Its got so many people but its got no soul
And its taking you so long
To find out you were wrong
When you thought it held everything
You still think that it was so easy
You used to say that it was so easy
But you're trying, you're trying now
Another year and then you'd be happy
Just one more year and then you'd be happy
But you're crying you're crying now
Unknown Voice: For every piece to fall in place...forever gone without a trace. Your horizon takes its shape, no turning back, don't turn that page. Come now, I'm leaving here tonight. Come now, let's leave it all behind. Is that the price you pay. Running through hell...heaven can wait...
The scene opens up inside of a small diner on the outskirts of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the site of nCw's Metamorphosis. The door swings open and Joe Everyman and Scotty Callaway come walking in and sit down at a table. Cliffs of Dover can be heard playing in the background. After a few moments, a waitress comes back and gets their drink order and walks away. The camera then zooms in on the table from the side view.
Scotty Callaway: This is pretty damn nice, man.
Joe Everyman: Yeah it is, set up to win the tag titles is always nice.
Scotty Callaway: I meant the diner.
Joe Everyman: Well yeah, I'm glad we went to a little place. This ain't no Waffle House, but it will do just nicely.
Scotty Callaway: But, Waffle House sucks.
The entire diner goes silent and everyone stares at Scotty.
Scotty Callaway: Er...um...Waffle House is amazing. Nothing is better.
Everyone else then goes back to their meals.
Scotty Callaway: Man, that was close.
Then, the waitress comes back and gives the guys their drinks, a beer for Joe, and a Sprite for Scotty.
Joe Everyman: Manly there Scott.
Scotty Callaway: Quiet...
Waitress: So, what will you boys have?
Joe and Scotty both quickly pick up their menus as the waitress looks slightly mad.
Joe Everyman: Ummm...I'll have the bacon cheeseburger.
Scotty Callaway: And I'll have the deep fried shrimp basket.
The waitress then takes the menus and walks away.
Joe Everyman: Still going with the manlyness there Scotty, I like it.
Scotty Callaway: Oh shut it...now come on, we got a huge match coming up in a few days. Do you have any good strategy?
Joe Everyman: Well...let's see. We've beaten two of these teams before, and the other two are great teams for a long time ago. Really, all we need to do it pick our spots. It's always worked before. And in a match like this, not every team is going to be in there. We just have to wait for our spot and hope it's late in the match.
Scotty Callaway: But what happens if we're the first team?
Joe Everyman: Then we'll do what we always do.
Random Diner Patron: No show again?
Joe and Scotty turn towards the man.
Joe Everyman: Excuse me?
Random Diner Patron: Oh...um, nothing.
The man then turns back to his food.
Joe Everyman: Jackass...this diner is getting weirder and weirder.
Scotty Callaway: Yeah, I hear ya there. So come on, what is our main strategy?
Joe Everyman: Patience.
Scotty Callaway: Come on, I want to know.
Joe Everyman: No, patience is the key.
Scotty Callaway: Is it? Why?
Joe Everyman: Because patience is what we need to do in this match. If we are late on the list, we sit and watch our opponents. And when it's our spot, we rush in and take what is rightfully ours. Patience in training too. We cannot work ourselves to death. We have to be on our toes on this match too. And because this is a tag team match, more of our game needs to be mental than physical. Another thing that takes patience rather than a blitzkrieg like attack on them.
Scotty Callaway: You know, you're right. Patience...that's something I need. Like, when is our food getti...
Then, the waitress comes back up and gives Joe and Scotty their food and walks off.
Joe Everyman: See, patience.
Scotty Callaway: Yeah yeah yeah.
Joe picks up his burger and is about to take a big bite, but his phone start ringing from within his pocket. Joe lets out a sigh and puts down the burger and picks up the phone.
Joe Everyman: Hello? Oh hey Maria.....yeah, we're still at the diner.....I got a burger, Scotty got shrimp.....yeah, that's what I said about him too.
Scotty frowns, and hangs his head.
Joe Everyman: .....um, yeah, we'll be back by then, why? .....are you serious? You've GOT to be kidding me!
Scotty Callaway: What is it Joe?
Joe lowers the phone for a second.
Joe Everyman: Guess who came to see our match this Sunday?
Scotty Callaway: Who?
Just as Joe begins to speak, the feed cuts out and goes to static.
