*The scene opens with Chad Lights sat opposite The Ace, who looks very casual and relaxed in his T-Shirt and jeans as Chad addresses the camera...*
Chad: Ladies and gentlemen, I'm standing by now with an exclusive sit down interview with a man who finally got an answer from the former World Heavyweight Champion, Steve Awesome this past week at Collision and now after weeks of waiting and months of speculation, it will finally happen...two former friends, two men who were at one time inseparable brothers and part of one of the most popular tag teams ever in nCw history will meet in a match that we haven't seen in a year - the fabled Dragon's Den Match at Metamorphosis...with this in mind, my first question has to be how does it feel to be part of this historic match?
Well Chad, let me start by saying Spike and I didn't always see eye to eye and many people have now said that his career is over, but knowing Spike Kane as well as I do, I wouldn't be so quick to count him out, I can't say whether he'll ever decide to return after what happened, but I wish him well in whatever he decides to do next....
Chad: I see, speaking of Spike, it seems you will be following in his footsteps this Sunday by competing in a match that he made famous, does that responsibility weigh on you at all?
A lot of people once coined me as the most promising of Spike's proteges, I began my professional career under his wing, he was my mentor behind the scenes whereas on screen he was a mortal enemy, and I know it might be considered to be breaking kayfabe to say that...but the fact is, it has finally happened...the day I knew always was on the horizon...the day I became the last of our group to truly outlast Spike Kane...and now it falls rather poetically to me to ensure the Kane legacy is not forgotten, the baton is in my hands...the band will march on albeit to the beat of a different drum...I am the last of us XWF originals still competing together...The Hollands, X-Con, Triple D, Ryan Matthews and I were in the business a long time together - and the Dragon's Den was the most popular of Spike's crazy innovations, and I'm glad it has stood the test of time...in this case, the innovation has outlasted even the innovator...and I don't know if it is through coincidence or design but now it is up to me to outdo anything previously seen in the Dragon's Den before, the student attempts to outdo the teacher...
Chad: That seems like a tall order, I don't know if anything can outdo last year's match where we saw Davey Ortega put through a flaming table and many would say Ortega has never been the same since...
What many people don't realise Chad is, that the history of the Dragon's Den is far more violent than even that one match nCw has seen, you see Steve may think he knows me well, but last week he made the statement that I better be ready to go to a place I've never been before...
Chad: The Dragon's Den?
Yes, but you see if Steve had been just a little bit smarter and actually done his research thoroughly, instead of sunning himself up in Tahiti, drowning out the fact that he lost the World Championship with a few Tequilas, he'd have realised that I have been there before, I've been inside the Dragon's Den, I've been into the belly of the beast, and sure it wasn't infront of an nCw audience but that night I went against the beast master himself - Spike Kane a few years back...
Chad: Really? I did not know that...what happened?
I neither won nor lost that night, the match ended after both of us were knocked out following my trademark FameAcer from near the top of the dome...so if Steve Awesome expects to make another Davey Ortega out of me this Sunday, he is mistaken, you see he and I may have a love for gambling but that is where our similarity ends...
Chad: Speaking of ends, Steve said no matter what happens, win or lose, this rivalry between the two of you will end at Metamorphosis...your thoughts?
And why shouldn't it end Chad? This all started at Road To The Gold a few months ago, I competed twice that night and still Steve Awesome's ego would not be denied, he had to make a statement by making me tap out...in 2008, Steve and I had three matches and he is currently two one up on me, but just like the PPV suggests...2009 is a time for change...for too long this hungry caterpillar has remained dormant in his cocoon...the time for a metamorphosis is upon us, Chad and this butterfly shall not be pinned to Steve's wall, rather it shall emergy triumphant in all its glory and majesty and soar high above the reach of Steve Awesome...
*Chad blinks disbelievingly*
Chad: I'm sorry...but did you just call yourself a hungry catepillar?
*The Ace laughs*
Indeed I did, it seems all those bed time stories to little Soli have rubbed off on me, speaking of which, I have to ask, Marie is my daughter's middle name so why did Steve address me as such last week?
Chad: I don't know, perhaps to irritate you by calling you a girl's middle name or perhaps he was just confused...
I'd go with the second one myself, knowing Steve has always been more than a little confused...he said I can't seem to beat him, but the fact is I have, even if it was only once and to hear him tell it, he'll undoubtedly give you some wishy washy excuse as to why, he'll insinuate that I had the referee in my pocket that night, but I ask you, when have Angel and I ever truly seen eye to eye? But I digress, this isn't about Angel...there will be no more excuses, it wasn't my fault Steve got trumped by the lesser Kane at Transgression, the Ace of Hearts was left broken...and why? Because he failed to realise that you never bet against the black man when it really counts, because in the deck of life, black will always trump the red...as will be the story at Metamorphosis when the Ace of Spades will prove to be the only Ace that matters...the timebomb may be ticking Steve, but what good is the tick without the tock? The metronome of the Smokin' Aces sounds no more, you've lost the rhythm...the fire you claim I have fuelled still inevitably burns a smokeless flame, and this Sunday, the smoke will do what it does best, and that is to choke you out...see Steve, contrary to what you may believe, I have thought all this through, you want to knock the stupid out of me, that's fine...you want the excuses, the puns and the jokes to end, and they will...they will all end this Sunday when I force you to accept that you are and always will be the butt of them all...at Metamorphosis, enough is enough and its time for a change and believe me Steve, when that change comes it will be nothing less than Awesome...
*The Ace gets up and walks off shot, leaving Chad to wrap up the interview...*
Chad: This has been Chad Lights, thanks for joining us...and we'll see you at Metamorphosis...
*The scene fades to black*
