*The scene opens with this introduction sequence...*
*The scene then switches to Presenter Evan Davis standing in the den...*
Evan: Welcome to The Dragons' Den where once again budding entrepeneurs are nervously waiting to pitch their business ideas and inventions to The Dragons, each entrepeneur thinks they have what it takes to succeed provided they get the cash backing they ask for. First into the den are husband and wife team, Jake and Kathy Conway from Birmingham...and they're looking for a £250,000 investment to solve the all too common problem of Awesomeness...
*The scene cuts to The Ace and Kathy nervously walking up the steps to the den together, once insude the couple look anxiously at the multimillion dollar investors infront of them...*
Hello. My name is Jake Conway and this is my wife Kathleen, we're here today to ask for a quarter of a million pound investment in our company OnlyOneAce.com, in return for a 25% share in our company...
Kathy: We believe there should only be one Ace in any given deck of cards, and with your hopeful investment here today, we hope we can knock out the Ace of Hearts, a popular brand and gimmick infringement as marketed by our rival Steve Awesome...we currently have thousands of ticket sales and many more Pay Per View orders so we believe there is a strong market for this...thanks for listening, we will now take any questions you may have...
*The camera shifts to The Dragons all making notes as Evan does a voiceover...*
Evan: It sounds like a polished pitch, and straight away Richard Farley has some questions...
Richard: Hi I'm Richard. You mentioned having sold thousands of tickets but I don't think you told us what for...
The ticket sales and PPV orders are for an annual event called Metamorphosis and will be hosted by a company called Fate Entertainment under the brand name of nCw...we hope to show the world that we are the original and best by beating our rival at this event...
Richard: I see...and supposing I were to invest here today, what would you use the investment for?
Kathy: Well, we were thinking £100,000 for a party, £50,000 for medical bills and the other £100,000 for distributing and marketing our unique Only One Ace deck of cards...
Evan: The couple seem to be holding their own under Richard's scrutiny...and Peter Jones is the next to have his say...[/i]
Peter: I think it's ridiculous, how can you value your company at a million pounds? And let me tell you, you're going to need a lot more than one hundred thousand pounds for marketing, you have no idea, this is not a business opportunity for me and for that reason, I'm out...
Evan: An infuriated Peter Jones has walked away from a deal, but will Richard Farley who seemed initially impressed with the idea make them an offer?
Richard: Unfortunately for me, I think I'm going to have to agree with Peter on this one, so I too am out...
Evan: Two Dragons out in quick succession, and now Deborah Meaden is ready to declare her position...
Deborah: You mentioned a company, and a brand, tell me more about them, do you own them, how does that work?
No, unfortunately we own neither, the company and the brand is owned by Leonard Fox and run by his daughter Kelly...and the event hasn't been patented...
Deborah: There's nothing rlse to discuss, I'm out...
Evan: To the shock of the other Dragons, it appears the host organisation is not owned by the couple and that nothing has been patented, leaving the whole idea open to copycat rivals...and to make matters worse Theo Paphitus is about to drop another bombshell...
Theo: You guys have no idea do you? Not only is your whole valuation of your business ridiculous and uninvestable but the entire concept is flawed, let's say I gave you £250,000 of my children's inheritence, the problem still wouldn't be solved...you may get rid of the Ace of Hearts but what about the rest of the suit? Not only that, you'd still have three Aces in the deck, not one...so I'm out...
Evan: Duncan Bannatyne is the only Dragon left in, will he throw the desperate couple a much needed lifeline?
Duncan: The whole idea is just ludicrous and ridiculous so I wont be investing...I'm out...
Evan: Its all over for Jake and Kathy Conway, in the end they just couldn't persuade any of the dragons that their idea worked...
*The scene cuts to The Ace and Kathy standing by with Evan Davis...*
Evan: It all seemed to fall apart, what was it like in there?
They're wrong and we'll show them they're wrong this Sunday at Metamorphosis...
Kathy: Live only on Pay Per View...
We will prove that there's only one Ace in the Dragon's Den...
Evan: I wish you the best of luck, goodbye...and next in the den is Joe Everyman with his unique patented lean mean grilling machine, where he claims the pounds will never show...but he hasn't shown up so that's all the time we have for you this week, see you next time...
*The credits roll*
