"You know, it's funny. Watch the Grammy awards, the Academy awards, hell any award show really, and everyone first and foremost thanks God for all of their success. Everyone praises God for giving them this chance, and blessing them with talent. Nobody remembers the work they put in to get where they are. Musicians don't remember the nights of playing to three people at a club. Actors don't recall the days of audtion after audition with no call backs. It's all God's design. Or maybe they're just being humble. Now before anyone gets all uppity, I am a faithful Christian, and I always drop by a church Sunday morning before the show no matter what city it is in. But, if God is the sole reason you ever accomplish anything, it almost doesn't seem worth trying does it? What kind of pride can you take in yourself if everything you do was handed to you by a being with more power than anyone can imagine? What's the point of living your dreams if all the work and effort you put into it was the will of someone else? I know God watches me. I know God loves me. But as many people as this might offend, my will is my own. I wrestle because I love it. I wrestle because I trained for hours and days on end to get to where I am. God may have created the universe, but my parents were my creators, and my God is just someone looking out for me. A cheerleader, if I can be permitted to be corny for a minute. And when it's all said and done, I hope that I stand at those gates, and they open before me. And the first thing I hear is..
Welcome Home

(The balcony of the Courtland Merriot in Toronto. Falcon leans against the polished marble railing, the beautiful skyline of the Maple city stretched out like a vast expanse of desert. He checks his watch, thinks for a moment, then pulls his cell phone out of his pocket. He quickly dials the number, and hits the button for speaker.)
Reception: Courtland Merriot. How can I help you today?
Falcon: This is Kyle Braddock in room 710. Has Steve Awesome checked in yet?
Reception: No sir. Nobody has seen hide nor hair of him today.
Falcon: Ok, thank you.
Reception: You're welcome sir. Anything else?
Falcon: No, thank you.
Reception: Have a nice day, sir.
Falcon: You too.
(Falcon hangs up, and sighs. It was already Thursday, and not only had Steve not checked into the hotel room Falcon had reserved for him, he hadn't been seen on the web or TV either. Falcon was about to turn for the door when a familiar voice came from behind him.)
? You know he's not going to take up your invitation. Why do you keep checking?
(Falcon turned around, to see himself, sitting pristinely in a chair, a glass of hotel bourbon in his hand. The trussed up in a suit version of his personality that usually showed up to dispense "advice". While it was never anything Falcon wanted to hear, but it was unerringly accurate.)
Falcon: Perhaps not. But, why not give it a shot?
Kyle: You always were the hopeful one.
Falcon: Full time rationalization is depressing. Why are you here? I thought I was done with you.
(The clone laughed. Falcons face just became one of annoyance.)
Kyle: You're never going to be done with me. You think because I don't come to see you every week that I just went away?
Falcon: You said it. I am the hopeful one.
Kyle: Touche.
Falcon: So, what do you want?
Kyle: You really think you can save Steve Awesome?
Falcon: I can, and I will.
Kyle: That I don't doubt. What I do doubt is if it's worth it.
Falcon: What do you mean?
Kyle: Why does Steve Awesome deserved to be saved? He's an asshole, and people like that don't just change. Why do you think you'll be able to make this time different?
Falcon: It's already started. I've shown Steve Awesome that everything he valued was actually worthless, and everything he took for granted and lost because of it, was priceless. But, he hasn't lost everything yet, and until he does he will never truly understand what he's trying to be.
Kyle: That's it? That's your great reasoning? You do need me more than you think.
Falcon: You tell me then. What am I doing wrong?
Kyle: You're trying to save the hopeless. Steve is going to realize that everything you can take away from him, he can get back. And since he can do that, it becomes a matter of time before your salvation becomes shortlived, and he goes back to being the same way he was. You saw the same thing with Kole. His negativity caught up with him, and he lost it. But if he comes out of it, he's just going to cycle through all of it again, and nothing will have changed in the end.
Falcon: The journey is more important than the end or the start. It doesn't matter what happens when Steves career is over, what matters is what he'll be able to look back on, either with pride or regret.
Kyle: Pride that he truly changed, and regret that he didn't I assume?
Falcon: Something like that.
Kyle: Now you're just grasping at straws.
Falcon: Am I?
(The clone just smiled. It was extremely difficult to dope out the meaning of these visits. Hallucinations or not. Sometimes Falcon hated his own mind.)
Kyle: Well, I'll leave you to your waiting game.
Falcon: You know where to find me when you need to annoy me again.
Kyle: That my friend, I do.
(The clone stood up, saluting Falcon with his drink, and headed for the door. When he got there, he grabbed the handle and pulled but the door did not actually open, but he passed through it as though it had, and was gone.)
Falcon: Sometimes, I hate myself..
Angel: Oh come now, you're not that much of a douche.
(Falcon looked over to an adjoining balcony, to see Angel standing there, doing the same thing he had been.)
Falcon: You heard all that I guess?
Angel: Yeah, I'd of interrupted and told you that you were nuts, but.. I don't know. I guess I didn't want to butt in. You know?
Falcon: Yeah. (pause) Thanks.
Angel: Anytime compadre. Let's go get some lunch. We're starved.
Falcon: Alright. Let's roll.
(Fade.)

The day has come to an end
The sun is over my head
My Polyamorous friend
Got me in a mess of trouble again
So
Just when you think that you're alright
I'm crawling out from the inside
I never hurt anyone
I never listen at all
They've come to get me again
The cloud is over my head
My Polyamorous friend
Got me in a mess of trouble again
So
Just when you think that you're alright
I'm crawling out from the inside
I never hurt anyone
I never listen at all
Just stay away from the white light
I'd say your right sides your best side
I never hurt anyone
I never listen at all
Well how do you know?
Well how do you know?
Well how do you know?
Well how do you know?
So
Just when you think that you're alright
I'm crawling out from the inside
I never hurt anyone
I never listen at all
Just stay away from the white light
I'd say your right sides your best side
I never hurt anyone
I never listen at all
Let's GO!!
