The scene opens on Jack Hammond, sitting once more in his 911, looking quite somber. His bruises seemed to have faded somewhat, but they seem to be more defined by his frown. He looks towards the camera and begins to talk.
"So it seems that my opponents in the upcoming triple threat for the World Championship have seemed to think that my previous promo was a little less than serious considering my rabbiting on with that usual joking tone I take. Xavier was thinking I'm dwelling too much in the past and quoting Rocky IV in the process, and the Ace was kind enough to give an entire lecture, picking apart every single sentence of what I said."
He can't help but smirk a little as he continues.
"As much as I appreciate my esteemed colleagues talking my ears off my head, I feel I need to make a more 'grown up' response to make myself seem like a more upstanding and worthy Champion; A man who deserves to be holding the title coming into the main event at a Pay Per View and will bring respect and dignity to the belt I have around my waist."
Jack pauses and looks a little guilty.
"But then I thought about squirrels again and I lost my train of thought."
He shrugs with a cheeky grin before continuing.
"In all seriousness, it does appear that I'm coming off a little too friendly and pulling a few too many jokes in my last promo. Going into a match that could see me walk away without the title where I'm figuratively putting on a jester's hat is not exactly a good idea."
He shrugs.
"I'm not saying I look any more or less dashing in one and me and Mindy will be having our yearly Valentine's Day 'royal court' night, where I'm the humorous yet mysterious jester and she's the curious and yearning maiden, but I've gone on long enough."
Jack coughs, waving a hand to distract himself.
"Now, while I do come off as a bit of a joker, I'd like to remind some people who seem to have forgotten something; I am the current nCw World Champion. Deserving or not, that's what's I am, and I don't intend to relinquish the belt on the off chance that I like to crack a few more jokes than the other man."
He looks a bit more intently at the camera.
"I did not get here just by making people laugh. I put my heart and soul into every match I had, I've put my body on the line and people out there are more concerned about my rather short temperament...and size."
He coughs.
"Now, I think many of us have tended to focus less on this upcoming match and more upon the current stable who would like nothing more than to bend us all over those ring ropes and ask us to brace ourselves as they line themselves up to...well, do I really have to go on? Even I'm starting to feel uncomfortable."
Jack shifts in his seat.
"Needless to say, I've been accused of 'losing focus'. I had a tendency to get to a stage where I had a chance to grab a title and I bolloxed it up because I was more worried about...something else...I can never remember to be honest. My cars or my hair most likely, but the point is I can promise that I have never been more focused in all of my life."
He grins confidently.
"Ace, allow me to offer my congratulations for being able to talk about everything and anything about what I've already said and having the scientific mind to dissect it all and then point out in a promo that should in all honesty be accompanied by a powerpoint presentation in order to make sure we understand what you mean. However, I may have mentioned this before but I kind of got distracted halfway through...I swear, I've got a squirrel infestation back home."
Jack chuckles to himself.
"Xavier, I think you've made it clear I can stop trying to be buddies again, so let me thank you for taking a weight off my shoulders; Now I can truly let loose without fear of anyone saying that I'm the bad guy now. And I'm sorry to disappoint, but someone does stand in your way, X."
He hoists up a thumb to point at himself.
"I vowed last time to bring every ounce of what I had to the ring in our last match and you have to admit that you had no easy job trying to keep me down. I hate to repeat myself but this Sunday, I promise you I will bring all that I have, all that I am to this match and the person to stand in your way will be the man who you've vowed to 'break'."
He smirks.
"Many men have tried and none have succeeded, X. I've been beaten, spat on, battered, disrespected, bruised, but never broken. I will never lie down and give up. So long as you threaten what I stand for and what I hold dear to me, I will never bow to anyone. You want to change that? I dare you to try, Xavier. Just don't be surprised if your Rocky quotes ring true and this underdog watches the credits roll as the hero once more, a title raised over his head."
Jack smiles.
"So let me apologize in advance to my opponents if they feel I've been less than serious coming into this match."
He reaches off screen for something, rummaging around before placing said object on his head.
"And now if you'll excuse me, I've a fair maiden to ravish."
He wobbles his head a little, the bells on his jester's hat jangling and his face breaking into a cocky grin as the scene fades out.
