A daytime scene opens. Featuring a stretch of city sidewalk. A large brick wall encompasses the entire viewable area, and you can spot the works several graffiti artists in various places. On the left of your screen, "The Manchester Muscle" Kevin Kruger walks into view. He opens his dialog while looking directly at the wall.
Kevin: Once upon a time... there was a young, tiny ant named Shaddix. And in the ant colony where he was from, Shaddix was one of the smallest ants of them all.
But one day, while carrying his breadcrumb to the storage pit, Shaddix saw something sparkling in the distance. He walked through the reeds, and stepped out onto the edge of a fresh, clean pool of water. The sun overhead was sparkling down on it, making the water look almost magical.
Well, Shaddix was thirsty after a long day's work, so he leaned over and took a quick drink from the water. It tasted good, and he sat there for a moment and closed his eyes to enjoy the refreshing feeling. A few seconds later, when he opened his yes... the pool of water was gone! And so was his breadcrumb! Shaddix began looking all around, and he soon noticed that the trees and grass had all shrank!
Confused, Shaddix quickly tried to get home. Soon, he spotted the familiar mound of his colony, but went into despair as he realized it had shrunk as well! He thought he was going mad, and he took off running from sheer panic. Before long, he came upon the Great Ocean... and it too seemed very much smaller. In fact, it just looked like another small pool. Shaddix thought maybe, if he drank again, everything would go back to normal. So he leaned over...
...And saw his reflection. He stopped, shocked, and realized that the world hadn't changed, but HE had! He was no longer an ant, but he was one of the colossal horn-beasts! As the surprise went away, Shaddix started to smile, and he thought to himself, "Gee whiz! A Horn-beast! Now I'm one of the biggest creatures of them all!"
With joy springing out of his heart, Shaddix took off down the forest path and soon cleared the trees as he ran into an open field. He ran this way and that, back and forth, and loved the sound of his mighty hooves slamming against the ground! He leapt up, and soon started running in circles. He was the happiest creature in the forest!
Kruger, who's been pacing about and gesturing in his telling of the story, now looks to the face the camera for the first time. His right arm rises up, and he makes a gun out of his hand.
Kevin: A loud crack ripped through the air, and old Mister Crowley lowered his rifle and peered off into the distance. From beside him, his 8-year-old son murmured, "Pa, did ya get it?"
"I think so, William. Never seen a bull go mad like that before."
Night fell on the area, and back at the colony, Shaddix' parents were waiting to see if he'd come home. But as it came time for all ants to enter, they shrugged their shoulders and slipped back into the ground.
After all, he was just an ant! A billion die every day.
Kevin pauses, smiles to himself, and then continues.
Kevin: The moral of the story is that no member of the NCW roster should get too happy over any recent success. When I eventually cut you down, you go back to being just another forgotten ant in the big scheme of life. I'm soon to be the gun-toting master of these here parts, and though my sight is set on certain people, I can spare a moment to line anyone up and pick anyone off!
Some of you may get 15 seconds of fame, but I will come along and pull the trigger on you because I intend having 15 more years of fame and I intend eventually taking out all in my way, the most important being the big headed, egotistical, self-centered pr**k named Shaddix.
Kevin smirks, and turns to walk as he drops one quick, jabbing line.
Kevin: This week at Sovereign I start putting this plan in motion and the first man, Shaddix will feel the bullet when I pull the trigger.
Kruger gives the camera a long, hard look before turning and walking off. Once he clears the scene, the camera drops down to show the ground, and zooms in very closely to reveal the small, squashed body of a dead ant.
