First off Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe was alot better than I thought it would be, because lets face it crossovers are seldom any good, for instance I don't care much for Marvel/Capcom.
But this game I feel stayed relatively true to the MK franchise and hurrah for the return of the fatalities that weren't in Armageddon, also Subzero (my fave) Batman and Joker all kick ass in this game, as do notable others. My gripes with the game include the rather minimal and easy story/arcade modes and the lack of characters, also the far too difficult kombo challenge mode doesn't help, that's why there shouldn't really be a sequel. I'd prefer a wholly MK game next time.
Not a bad effort, worth buying if its cheap and great for kicking my bros' collective asses.
6/10
Next I love the Tekken Franchise and this game again did not disappoint its loyalo following, glad to see that they havent gone character lock mad in this game as they have in previous games and though I've only been playing a short while, I love it. Nina Williams remains one of my all time faves and though the bonus rounds and final stages seem daunting in arcade mode, the latter can eventually be overcome as I did this morning...and got far too excited about it.
Has to be said that I really dig being promoted through ghost mode and it means that my brothers and i can still compete for the highest ranking when we're not busy kicking each other's asses. Well worth the buy, especially if you're a Tekken fan.
9/10
Must be noted I havent really played either of these online yet as PS3 owners are dying out snd we're being overrun by the X-Box mob, but if any of you have a ps3 and either game, I'd be happy to whoop your piddly ass!

I'd have to disagree on both counts I'm afraid.
While MK vs. DC did bring the return of the fatality system it also failed to take into account the numerous fans cry for a true "Mortal Kombat" game. The fact that they had to make such a kid friendly version alienated true fans and while the story line was tackled seriously the whole premise is ridiculous. The fatalities were so cartoonish and the "Brutalities" made any true fan of the series sick to our stomachs. While I did enjoy the Kombat Kombo system and the idea of fighting while falling from great heights, like Armageddon this game should be seen but not played. If you feel like a good fighting game with some descent storyline and that stays true to the roots play Street Fighter IV. Here's a hint Midway give us what we really want. An MK game that stays true to the first game. Even the second. You do that and we'll all get along just fine.
Gameplay: 6/10 Entertainment: 4/10 Replay: 5/10 Overall Average: 5/10
Evaluation: Hit and miss
Next my evaluation of Tekken 6. I'm a huge fighting game fan and Tekken is a great game... usually. But I have a question for all Tekken fans. Why the heck do we need to play dumb story based mini games to unlock fighters? I bought a dang fighting game. I don't care about the stupid adventure of a robot and an amnesiac I just want to fight! Don't get me wrong... in past games it was fun to bowl. But it didn't require bowling to play as Kuma or Eddie Gordo or even that awful Paul Pheonix. The mere fact I have to jump through hoops to get to the fighting filled me with a horrible rage. Now some of the new characters were good and while I was cheesed off on how to get a few of my old favorites the others made it worth my while. Having said that I leave the makers of Tekken with a final thought. Focus on the fighting, leave the mini games or I'll stick to DOA from now on.
Fighting Gameplay: 9/10 Mini game gameplay: 2/10 Entertainment: 5/10 Replay: 4/10 Overall Average: 6/10
Evaluation: Screw mini games and let me fight!

I was talking to Pav But tbh, in my own opinion there is no difference between them. Yeah you have a browser, who cares thats what my laptop is for. Yeah PS3 has a blu ray player win there for sony. Xbox has more games, PS3 has free online, Xbox live is better blah blah blah I'm tempted to buy one just to whoop you fools online, but at the moment it seems more like "Ha! I've got money!" console than a gamer's console. If I can find a decent priced one I'll get it...but untill then, suck my nuts. As for the games... MK Vs DC. got pretty far, pretty quickly...kinda lame. I'm an MK fan and I loved Shoalin Monks, like the next gen version of Streets of Rage (especially when you unlock Scorpion and Sub Zero) but this seriously lacked. Marvel vs Capcom owns the pants off this thing. Tekken 6. Not played yet, looks pretty swish though. We're having a tournament at work soon, so gotta get some practise in. and just for Seph. Street Fighter IV Decent game, don't like the new characters at all. The last boss is a complete cheating piece of programming and online is full of fireball spamming retards. It's definetly worth a play but I'm not really a fighting gamer...unless of course it;s UFC or Wrestling.

I have to admit I haven't had either game very long and those were just my first impressions so I'll stick by them, yes MK VS DCU was toned down compared to regular MKs and the storyline basis leaves a lot to be desired, but the main fun for me is having so called comic nerdy super match ups like Batman vs Superman, I don't take the game seriously as a true MK game but damn it is an enjoyable waste of time whilst we hope there's a thoroughbred MK game on the horizon for PS3, and really isn't that what all games are about?
And as for Tekken, I still love it despite its flaws which I can forgive.
Mike, I'll be honest X-Box didn't seem worth it to me after its reputation for red rings of death, paying for live etc etc, so for me it was really a case of sticking with the devil I knew, even if you disagree.

Mortal Kombat has always been a ****ty fighting game. it couldnt do 2-D fighters on the level of King of Fighters or Street Fighter and it doesnt have the depth of 3-D fighters like Tekken or Virtual Fighter. All it basically had was a gimmick and that gimmick got old and when it came time to revamp, they just did nothing, the games have just gotten bland.
As for PS3/360 argument you can go wrong with either, etc. Paying for Live... considering the MS service is just worlds better than Sony's... i think it is fair. (Firmware updates.... MY ****ING GAWD, and I have a PSP so it's 2x worse) RRoD... it's really a toss up older consoles are crapping out, the newers ones are said to be improved, but that is why we have warranties.

Have to agree with X on the Mortal Kombat statement.
Anyway, me and my brother-in-law bought our PS3's on the same day, Black Friday deal PS3 slim with 2 free games (InFamous and Arkham Asylum) and 1 free BluRay disc (The Dark Knight). The next week his Xbox completed the unholy hat trick of Xbox problems, he got the E74 error. He's already experienced the RRoD and the disc scratching problem before. I couldn't help but tease him due to the fact my sister wouldn't let him open his PS3 because it was a Christmas present. I told him I'd let him come over and watch me play my games, since she told me I couldn't let him play it.... lolZ.

PS3 has its own version of the RRoD and it's a new thing, and sony don't have extended warrenty like Microsoft.
Sony sucks.

Hey guys , I think you won't remember me , but I registered here as Kronos but had some real life problems and didn't show up to my match . Now I'm back with a new character. My opinion about those two games : Tekken 6 Haven't played , but saw people playing and all the stories , the mini-game thing sucks balls and that's what made me not buy Tekken , I like the storylines , but I got bored after all. 7.5/10 MK vs. DC I played once and I liked it in some ways , but one thing that didn't made me buy that game was the Heroic Brutalities . Since when heroes kill ?! DC is cleaner than AWA Sunday Night All-Star Wrestling !

Plus the only reason Microsoft has the extended warranty was because so many were failing. Remember the Xbox originally only had a 3 month warranty. Anyway, my story wasn't about bashing the Box, but more about making fun of my brother in law and sharing a humorous story.

I haven't played Tekken 6, and probably won't for a while because I can't afford to buy computer games right now. I did buy MK vs DCU though, and thought it was OK. I played it for a few weeks, but got bored and went back to not played my console at all. Oh, and you all suck! Sega Game Gear owns 360 and PS3!
