- WWE.com has announced that Shane “Hurricane” Helms and Paul Burchill have been released.
Shane Helms’ most recent WWE run began back in 2008. Since then, he has served as both a backstage interviewer and wrestler and performed as both Shane Helms as well as The Hurricane. He was arrested along with Chris Jericho in late January for public intoxication and was part of the ECW brand when it folded earlier this month.
Paul Burchill had been with WWE since 2005 and was also part of the ECW brand before it folded. There was talk he’d be moving to RAW.
Both men were wished the best in all future endeavors.
I'm not surprised about Helms at all. He really ****ed up.

And you just know with Jeff, Shannon, and Shane over in TNA, it's only a matter of time before Matt Hardy follows them.

Helms was elbowing people in the face and getting them in trouble. They were taking a taxi and it wouldn't have been a problem at all if it weren't for Helms.

They also released referee Scott Armstrong. Didn't see that one coming either. He seemed like one of their top, go-to referees.

It sucks Helms got the ax, but makes sense. Burchill also makes sense. Maria's playboy spread wasn't that great and she's not all that, but she is in the next Apprentice, so it's surprising they'd release her before that show is even started. Scott Armstrong is also a bit surprising, he must have done something.

I bet right now that Charlie Haas ends up in TNA as soon as his no-compete crap ends.

Unfortunately, TNA will do about as much with Haas as WWE did...virtually nothing. The guy has a severe lack in charisma, which makes him only useful in places where in-ring talent is superior. I see him being in the indy's asap

Yeah, TNA will mis-use him like they do with alot of guys that left WWE and people predicted would be awesome in TNA. Really if you're not an already big time established guy, then you're not going to do any better in TNA.
