Hey there NCWites, as you can see you fans have spoken and the Fox Report is no more. This week I begin my new column, Knitelife, for your reading pleasure. The poll was close, but in the end Kniteliff pulled away and I'm actually quite fond of the new name. I'm going to miss "The Fox Report", me or my dad had been using that name for several years, but all good things must come to an end.
This Week's poll will be more of a traditional variety where we'll see what match you fans are looking forward to the most this week, then see how that match actually turned out on next weeks report. I'll refrain from giving my opinion as not to skew the results, but... a certain former World Champion is making his return to NCW television....**wink,wink**
LAST WEEK REVIEW
So, I think we should start off with the obvious here... that big slimey jerk laying his hands on me and holding me on the top of a semitruck. Seriously... what the hell!? You know, Kaos and his antics took a perfectly good show and turned it upside down, but luckily Steven put his body on the line for me and stopped the madness. Wasn't that sweet of him?
But moving on, last week was supposed to be about the Coliseum Qualifiers. We had some great matches and some good surprises. Andrew Jacobsen, Ricky Johnson, Paul Star, Will Washington, Jimmy Zane and Kristoff Liam Bates will be moving on to Sovereign. Congratulations to all of them, because they earned those spots. However, it does bring up an interesting note with KLB and Jimmy Zane both being part of Infamous, but that's a discussion for next week.
Trauma saw the Dirty Deal and Magically Gross tag team fued escalate as they cost Magic D their place in the tag team tournament. This should be interesting, two violent rednecks taking on two mentally challenged clowns.
To steal the show, in what was a huge surprise, Alex "The Phoenix" Jones managed to pull out the victory int he main event. He picked it up when Steve Awesome's attention was on Hardcore Harry, but he didn't know that, and it's not his fault. It was a great win, bouncing back from his loss last week.
This week's shows were a lot more balanced and had less cheap runins, so I'll have to score it signigigently higher, and go with an 8.9 for the week. There were some great shows this past week, and if you haven't seen them yet, I suggest you check the archives on the official web page and check them out.
THIS WEEK'S PREVIEW
As was sorta mentioned above with the poll we have some great matches this week. I don't even know where to start, but I'm guess the first thing I want to point out is that Gib, AKA: Homeless Harold, will be going one on one with his son Xander, the guy who stabbed him in the back and almost killed him, in an Xtreme match. This match is going to be freaking crazy. Angel has brainwashed Xander into despising his father, and Gibby is trying to make amends of his sins. Gib has been like a big brother to me for years and I hate seeing him like this, but if this is what it takes for him to get rid of these demons, then it has to be done and it's his choice.
Then we have a big tag team match where two sets of three women will be looking to gain a shot at the Women's championship. In a very interesting match, the women are forced to work together for a chance to be opponents at Sovereign. Pretty neat match if you ask me.
And of course, I can't have a preview without bring it up so here it goes... THE RETURN OF ADAM KNITE! That's going to be great, oh did I mention he's going to be teaming up with Steve Awesome as The Awesome Knites (That's the name I've given them)? My boys will have their hands full though, because Hardcore Kaos (the name I've given them) are both crazy and blood thirsty. I mean that's going to be an amazing match between four very talented wrestlers.
So make sure to tune in this week NCWites because there isn't going to be a dull moment on the entire show, with the exception of Boring fAce being in the opening match... but he has the awesomeness of Doc to contend with, so it won't be all that bad, but without further waste, here are my picks of the week, and this week since I'm debuting my new UPSET OF THE WEEK, I'll be throwing Trauma into the mix to try and even out my weekly crazy prediction.
Last Week's Record: 3-4 – Not that great.... but decent I suppose. I'll try and do better this week.
Overall Record: 3-4
FOUR CORNERS MATCH
Doctor Dream vs. Jack Hammond vs. Venom vs. Mike Machado
Dream has a PHD in kickass but there is a former World champion and a highly hyped Venom in this match. I'll have to believe the hype and go with Venom.
TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
Severe Payne vs. Ron Gibson vs. Jason Lovegun
Last week Lovegun failed me, I'm gonna have to jump ship and go with Severe Payne this week.
SINGLES MATCH
Curtis Kanyon vs. Freakke the Carnival King
Unless Kanyon has som unknown fear of clowns that hasn't been made public, I'll have to go with him, despite me desperately wanting Freakke to pie and pin him.
MAIN EVENT: SINGLES MATCH
Xavier Cross vs. Alex Jones
Alex Jones is fresh off winning a three way match between himself and two NCW World champions, it'll be a shame if he lost this week after that.
----------------------------------------------
SINGLES MATCH
The Ace vs. Doc
I have to put my backing behind Doc here, he's just way more exciting than Boring fAce.
SIX WOMEN TAG TEAM MATCH
Julietta Lee and Emma Danielson and Emma English vs. Cleopatra and Ayla St. James and Roxi Johnson
Cleo and Ayla are an actual team, while the two Emmas and Julietta have had their shares of problems in the past. I'm gonna have to side with Cleo's team, because none of them have had shots at he women's title while 2 out of 3 of the other team has, and has failed.
TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT FINALS MATCH
Dominicus Republic vs. Tempestad and Gabriel Karras
On one hand Rob Diamond is an asshat. On the other hand Nelly Angel lives up to his name. It's hard to pull for that team, simply because of Diamond, so I'm going with Temp (who is still rolling by the way) and Karras.
XTREME RULES MATCH
Homeless Harold vs. Xander Famularo
Gibbers is going to give his son a spanking figurative speaking.... and maybe not figuratively. Who knows with Gib.
TAG TEAM MATCH
Steve Awesome and Adam Knite vs. Kole Kaos and Harold Campbell
Seriously.... if you don't know who I think is going to win this match, then you should read a different column.
!!!UPSET OF THE WEEK!!!
SINGLES MATCH
Sephiroth Du Lac vs. Angel
That's right, this is going to be my upset pick of the week. Where I will every week try and go out on a limb and pick an upset, and yes, I'm picking the world champion to lose to a vampire. Call me crazy, but I see something in Sephiroth and this match could be a turning point in his career, despite him having a stupid Twilight schtick.
MAIN EVENT: TRIPLE THREAT TAG TEAM MATCH
Jimmy Zane and Kristoff Liam Bates vs. Will Washington and Paul Star vs. Ricky Johnson and Andrew Jacobsen
Will Washington and Paul Star, two of the youngest and most talented wrestlers on NCW's roster will be able to survive this wicked match between the six Coliseum participants.
THE FAB FIVE
Another week, and another chance for me to tell you who did a stellar job and caught my eye.
5. Harold Campbell – It's not every week you get a chance to pin a former World Champion, but Harold pulled it off on Trauma.
4. Doc - He's been out of NCW for a while, but he came right back and won his first match. Impressed me.
3. Paul Star – Xavier Cross is not an easy man to beat, but Star pulled it off and he gets a Coliseum birth as a reward.
2. Tempestad – The Masked Muchacho is still winning.
1. Alex Jones – Got the pinfall victory on Steve Awesome, in a match that also featured current Champion Angel? That's impressive.
WHAT TO KEEP AN EYE ON
Who to keep an eye on: As evidenced by my upset of the week, Sephiroth Du Lac will be the wrestler to keep an eye on this week. He's coming off a loss and he's facing the current World Champion, expect him to come out with a purpose and expect him to pull off the upset. Another wrestler who might create some fireworks... Doc, he's got a chance to really turn some heads with a solid performance against Ace.
Match to keep an eye on: I know I sound like a broken record with this... but come on Steve Awesome and Adam Knite tag teaming against Hardcore Harry and Kole Kaos? Tell me there isn't anything exciting about this match. Adam and Steve are furious over what happened with me, and they won't be playing around. Also, watch for the Xander and Gib match, but you might want to make sure your children turn their heads, because it's going to be bloody and violent.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
Well it's been a fun time starting up this new column and I really hope that I can find ample time to bring you the best work I can every week. I'll do my best, and if I seem to slacking just remember to give a good push in the right direction. In closing I just want to give out a big public thank you to Steve Awesome. He put his neck on the line for me, and it was really sweet. Thanks Steven.
Be here next week fans for another exciting addition of the newly branded KNITELIFE!
