OPENING
Are you ready Knitelife fans, because it's Monday and that of course means another Knitelife column. It's been a hectic week for me personally, but I won't let that interfere with my journalistic integrity. I won't let my fans down, because I am here and I am bringing you this week's Knitelife with 20% less tears.
The poll last week was over what was the most shocking moment coming out of Sovereign, and you fans really expressed your opinion because it was a landslide victory for Will Washington being thrown off the cage, and somehow finding a way to return and win the match. I'm a little surprised Steven planting one on me didn't get more votes, but it got the runner up by a mile award.
It was an amazing event that I'm sure will bein the minds of all NCW fans for a very long time. Washington running back to the ring with his stretcher with him, then goes on to win? It's a great story, but sadly it'll be all for nothing if he can't beat Gib at A Night to Remember, but hey, there is no time to dwell on that for Mr. Washington, right now he just needs to keep on celebrating the fact that he's NCW's Gladiator.
You know a lot of people have been asking me about my feelings to Steve, and I just want to make it perfectly clear that Steve is a wonderful person, he's just misguided right now. So don't think of him as some home wrecking playboy, hey I'm a very captivating woman right? hey... no laughing.
REVIEW OF LAST WEEK
Oh wow, we had some great shows this week. Suspense and Trauma were about their normal selves, entertaining, but nothing spectacular, but what do you expect from the B shows. Collision is where we shined this week, and boy did we shine.
We kick off the night with a four way match that was amazingly intense. Angel managed to pick up the victory against Joe Everyman, Harold Campbell, and Jack Hammond. He then made his intentions to Gib known, that he wasn't going to stop his brutal attacks until Gib gives him a rematch. It was a scary to see, and I have to think Gib won't stand for it for long, and lets hope he does give Angel another butt kicking for it.
After that we had the revealing of the Ayla St. James photoshoot, where my dad dropped the bombshell that he was going to strip Zelda Knite of the Women's World title and make Ayla the new Women's champion, the Millenia champion. Now this is complete BS to me, Zelda earned that title, and just because she refused to do some photoshoot doesn't mean she can be stripped of the title, luckily later in the night Ruston Bourne of the NCW championship committee, informed us that the Board and Committee plan on fighting this decree from my dad.
We have a new X-Division champion, as Andrew Jacobsen won his title back from Paul Star and is now a two time champion, congratulations go out to him, he worked hard for this honor.
This week we debuted what is sure to be a reoccurring feature in NCW as the women's division grows, our first Mixed Tag Team match. In what turned out to be a fantastic match, Zelda and Steve managed to just sneak out with the victory, adding to Zelda's lists of "firsts" for this Women's division.
Then finally we came to our main event, a huge eight man tag team match. The match was what you'd expect as all of these men tried to tear each other apart. In the end though, I'm glad it was Nelly who picked up the win for his team, I know it must of hurt him to be the cause of success for Infamous, but if anybody was going to win that thing, I'm glad it was him.
I'm going to give the shows an 8.8 this week. They were very entertaining.
PREVIEW OF THIS WEEK
Last Week's Recored:: 7-4 :: I did a great job with Trauma, going 3-1, but I really screwed up my Collision choices going 4-3 there, but still an overall decent job on my part I guess.
Overall Record:: 26-15 :: Hey, at least it didn't get worse, I'm 11 up in the win column, so I'll take it.
Upset of the Week Record:: 1-2 :: Hey I finally got one right!
TRAUMA
Mark Evil vs. Mystery Opponent
How am I supposed to predict a match when I don't know the opponent? Fine... i'll just go with Mark "I Shouldn't be Alive" Evil.
Mike Machado and Mike Honcho vs. Magically Delicious
The power of those two Staches can't be stopped, especially not be Happy and Hexx, who only have face paint to counter the magical delight of those staches.
Temepstad vs. Xavier Cross
Tempestad has had a phenomenal record as of late, winning a great deal of matches, but I don't think he has enough for the National champion this week.
Joanne Cannelli vs. Tara Fenix
Joanne managed to steal a win this past week on Suspense, catching Tare Fenix with the brass knuckles, Tara's vowed revenge and I think she gets it in this Xtreme match.
Philip Burns and Alex Jones vs. Dirty Deal
Philip Burns is holding open tryouts for his tag team partner. He won a shot as per my Dad's demands by winning the handicap match last week. I just don't think Burns and Jones have enough chemistry to defeat a team like Dirty Deal.
COLLISION
Angel vs. Doc
This is going to be a fantastic match, Doc has been rolling since joining back and looks unstoppable, so I'm going to go with him. But this won't be my upset of the week because....
!!!!UPSET OF THE WEEK!!!!
Andrew Jacobsen vs. Falcon
I think this match will be more surprising. Jacobsen is on the cusp of being something great, when he beats Falcon here, he'll cross over from potentially great... to just great.
Conejo vs. Charlie Velez
I don't know much about the Dreaded Conejo yet, he looks like he has a lot of potential, but until I see more, Charlie Velez has to be my pick.
Jack Hammond vs. Joe Everyman
Both of these men seem to be slumping and having a rough time finding a win, I think I'll pick Hammond in this match because he seems better at rebounding from a tough loss than Joe Everyman.
Sephiroth Du Lac vs. Ricky Johnson
The Xtreme title is going to be on the line here, Ricky Johnson has a nice history of winning belts, but a not so glorious one of keeping them, so I'm going with history and picking Sephiroth.
Kristoff Liam Bates and Ayla St. James vs. Zelly (Zelda Knite and Lord Dominicus)
I've learned my lesson about picking against Zelda and Nelly is fresh off a pinfall victory over Gib, too much momentum here.
Gib and Will Washington vs. Steve Awesome and Adam Knite
Adam is my husband, Steve is my best friend, I consider Gib my big brother, and Will Washington saved me from a terrible chair accident this week..... I'm not picking a winner here.... sue me.
No matter how you cut it... it's going to be a great show this week as well. The cards are stacked thats for sure. There are going to be some great matches this week, a showdown between Angel and Doc to start the show and the tag team match to finish it.... don't miss it this week.
THE FAB FIVE
5:: Emma Danielson:: She had a fantastic week, I predicted her to pull off the upset and she did, things could be looking up for her.
4:: Nelly Angel:: Hey, he pinned the current World Champion, that's something to brag about.
3:: Ayla St. James:: She had a lot of pressure on her shoulders to live up to Leonard Fox's hype, but hey, she came out and won her first match as "Millenia" Champion.
2:: Angel:: Sometimes it's hard to rebound after a tough loss. Angel not only rebounded, he made a statement basking in Harold's blood.
1:: Andrew Jacobsen:: He just won his second X-Division championship in his rematch against Paul Star, congrats AJ.
WHAT TO KEEP AN EYE ON
Alex Jones is returning to the ring after being out a couple weeks with a medical emergency. Should be interesting to see how he looks in this match. Luckily he has a partner like Burns.
Andrew Jacobsen just keeps finding a way to win matches, he's a two time X-Division champion now and has a chance to really make his mark with a win over Falcon. Make sure to keep an eye on this man, as he could soon be holding the NCW World Title.
Angel vs. Doc is going to be the can't miss match this week. Angel is one of the best and Doc is quickly proving that he is as well. This match opens the show, and could very well shadow every other match on the card, don't miss it.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
It's a big pile of crap what my dad is putting Zelda through. She's won virtually every match thrown at her, she's jumped through all the hoops, and the fans love her. He needs to back off and leave her alone.
This Angel and Gib thing may never end. These two just outright can't stand each other and I'll be surprised if one of them is able to walk after it's all said and done. The brutality of this feud has only just begun.
Falcon is getting scary.....
It would seem some former NCW stars have been really bad mouthing NCW in the press as of late. That's a real smart thing to do right? Trash the company that was completely dedicated to your career for over two years? The company that gave you your big break? You know what they say about burning bridges.... but hey, keep believing the C in NCW stands for "corrupt", because I completely understand reality is a hard thing to face, so you have to make up **** in your make believe world.
Finally, thank you to all the loyal NCW fans, NCW has been growing wildly as of late and more fresh talent just keeps pouring in. There have been some great matches lately, and the ratings are growing, it's a good time to be a part of NCW.
Until next time..... peace.
