OPENING
Sorry if I don't seem like myself today loyal Knitelife readers, but if you watched the show I'm sure you can understand. I'm just at a loss right now and not sure where to go. However, I'm not going to sit here and bore you with my love life problems, this is the Knitelife and I owe it to you to be a trooper and pull through this and bring you the best column I possibly can, so here we go.
Last week's poll was over which team should get the next NCW world tag team title shot, and it looks like the fans have spoken and they want more Booo Urns. They don't care with who, they just want him to get that title shot he was promised and then look good behind that desk.
This week in honor of Burns, we're going to find out the Knitelife's reader's favorite late night talk show host. Will the snake in the grass Jay Leno pull off a thrilling victory or can one of the younger guys pull it off? We'll just have to wait until next week to see who will win this battle royale.
We had some good shows this week, thanks to all the NCW fans who were able to come out and cheer for your favorite wrestlers. It just shows how we're often imitated but never duplicated, we have our haters out there, so lets show them what their missing.
REVIEW OF LAST WEEK
We had some good matches this week, but I'm not going to lie, this wasn't our best showing the past few weeks. We had a few superstars out, and we'll have a few out this week as well, but I really felt we could of done better. That's not saying the shows were bad, they just weren't our normal NCW quality and that saddens me.
Through it all we did get to see some great things, like the debut of Mmmmm, Mike and Mike, they sure know how to make us laugh if nothing else, however they might also be gaining some momentum in the ring, easily defeating Magically Delicious. If they can pull it all together, could be a dangerous team in the future.
We got to see another the rematch between Tara Fenix and Joanne Cannelli which certainly didn't disappoint as they fought in an Xtreme match. Like Simon and Willy said on the show, I don't think those two are done with each other. They are building a little rivalry in the ring and the fans are eating it up.
Then on Collision we had Angel and Doc working the fans into a frenzy to kick off the show. Those two men put on a show, it's a shame Angel had to go and ruin it by being a douche, but Doc got the win and what has to be considered an upset.
Falcon and Jacobsen put together a nail biter, and shared a great moment of sportsmanship, however it gets ruined by Infamous of course. Rob Diamond... class act.... no not really.
Oh, and the Zelda Knite winning streak keeps growing, making Ayla St. James tap out in another Mixed Tag Team match.
Overall, I'd say we had some good shows, but like I said I thought they could of been better. I'm going with a 7.8 this week. Hopefully we'll get back on track this week and bring some more of the great NCW action you look forward to.
PREVIEW OF THIS WEEK
Last Week's Record :: 8-3 :: Hey, that's pretty good, had another amazing week at Trauma going 4-1, but paired it with a good Collision as well.
Overall Record :: 34-18 :: Would you look at that, that's pretty darn impressive if you ask me.
Upset of the Week Record :: 1-3 :: Good lord.... it's the kiss of death I tell you.
SATURDAY TRAUMA
MIXED TAG MATCH
Joe Everyman and Maria Williams vs. Charlie Velez and Joanne Canelli
Should be an interesting match, but you'd have to think that the Everman's have the advantage of being husband and wife... I think.. who cares.
SINGLES MATCH
Jason Blair vs. Freakke
Blair didn't fare so well stepping out on his own last time, but I think he fixes that this week.
TAG TEAM MATCH
Philip Burns and Xavier Cross vs. Motor City Mafia
Picking against Burns was my only wrong choice last week on Trauma, I won't make the same mistake twice. He and National champion Xavier Cross will be able to take down the former champions.
MAIN EVENT: SINGLES MATCH
Jimmy Zane vs. Andrew Jacobsen
Jacobsen pushed Falcon to the limit last week, and he'll do the same against a talented Jimmy Zane, but this time the X-Division champion walks away with a victory.
SUNDAY COLLISION
!!!UPSET OF THE WEEK!!!
SINGLES MATCH
Ron Gibson vs. Tommy Victor vs. Jack Hammond
Here we go, I just want to say sorry to Tommy Victor before hand, because if you lose, I totally blame myself.
TAG TEAM MATCH
Doc and Sephiroth Du Lac vs. Mike & Mike's Marvelous Mustache Monopoly
They may not be friends, they may be opponents shortly, but for one night they'll work together and sadly defeat Mmmmm.
SINGLES MATCH
Curtis Kanyon vs. Venom
Curtis is a good wrestler, in singles and tag team matchups, but Venom will be the better man.
SINGLES MATCH
Tara Fenix vs. Zelda Knite
I can't pick against Zelda, Tara Fenix has a lot of talent but Zelda, she just keeps finding ways to win.
NO DQ/PINFALLS COUNT ANYWHERE MATCH
Rob "Dominicus" Diamond vs. Falcon
*Special Guest Ref, Kristoff Liam Bates
With Bates as the referee I don't see how Falcon can win, this is going to be a screwing and sadly there won't be any KY laying around.
nCw X-DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP NUMBER ONE CONTENDERS MATCH
Severe Payne vs. Alex Jones vs. Nathan Doe
Gotta go with the man who has been there before. Payne and Doe will get their shots, but on this night it will be The Phoenix who rises to the top again.
MAIN EVENT: SINGLES MATCH
Will Washington vs. Nelly "Lord Dominicus" Angel
Nelly is rolling, but our Gladiator is fresh off two tag team loses in two weeks and he'll be looking for a win, nobody could stand in his way this week.
THE FAB FIVE
5. Sephiroth Du Lac :: He's the new Xtreme champion, I shouldn't have to say anything else.
4. Zelda Knite :: That streak just keeps growing and she made the "Millenia" champion tap out.
3. Tara Fenix :: Takes a lot of guts to get back into the ring with somebody who beat you the week before, she did it and got some revenge.
2. Jack Hammond :: He's been off with various minor injuries and issues, he's been slow to get back int he groove, but he defeated the former 3x National champion, good work from him this week.
1. Doc :: Angel is a former world champion, Doc didn't care and won that match, fantastic job.
WHAT TO KEEP AN EYE ON
There's going to be a lot to watch this week, but firstly I'm going to say you have to keep your eye on this Rob Diamond versus Falcon match. These two may leave each other so broken that they won't be able to walk out of the arena. I see this ending badly for Falcon, but if anybody can fight those odds it's him.
Doc has simply put, been unstoppable lately, and this week he teams with his Night to Remember opponent Sephiroth Du Lac who won his first NCW title last week. It's going to be interesting to watch, will they come together to win or will they let their emotions get the best of them?
Make sure to keep an eye on this Nathan Doe fellow, he didn't do so well in his first stint with NCW but I've been told he's rededicated himself and he's got a fire to go out there and show the world what he's made of, he just might do it with that attitude.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
You just don't know how sad I am to see Adam and Steve like this, the two most important people in my life and they are both fighting over me. I... just don't know what to do, but please don't take any sides, you can only make the matter worse. Yes, I'm talking to all you fans who showed up at the arena with custom "Team Adam" and "Team Awesome" shirts and signs.
Adam's a very emotional man, he just couldn't keep his promise, that is very well evidenced.
Hey, we crowned two new champions, two weeks in a row. That's gotta be exciting for the fans who showed up.
Bates got beat up by a girl.
Well that's all I got, sorry again if I seemed off, not been the best week for me. Make sure to keep tuning into the NCW action and make sure to keep reading this column, **laugh**, until next time...
