OPENING
I'm writing the Knitelife column this week from the Steve Awesome compound, thanks to my dad. Not only did he force me into being Steve's manager for the next six or seven months, he's making me move in so I can manage his finances and his “lifestyle” whatever that's supposed to mean. So as you'll be able to tell, I'm not in a very bleeping good mood, yes I said “bleeping”... I'll keep this thing rated PG.
I am so mad I'm fuming right now, there is smoke coming out of my ears because of what happened last night. I'll spare you about going into details during the show review and not take away from an amazing card, and say what I gotta say here. You see, Steve said he loved me, if he loved me he would of honored my feelings and accepted that I wanted to be with my husband, but instead he made a pact with my father and started this mess. I hope “love” doesn't make everybody this crazy.
So laste week's poll was about which title was most likely to change hands. The National title won and it in fact it did change hands as Velez was crowned the new champion, however..... every title except one, in fact changed hands... the only title that didn't get one vote in our poll, “Zeldaberg's” Women's World title. So you Knitelife fans are some smart people it seems.
I'm going to refrain from making the poll this week about Steve, because I'd hate to see what my father would force me to do for Steve if he saw and got angry about it, and I really don't feel like being called a whore right now. This week we're going to decide who DDK is going to cash his title shot in against. It should be fun guessing what title he'll go after.
PAY PER VIEW REVIEW
The pay per view in general was an amazing show. As I said above, almost every title changed hands, the fans must of got a kick out of that, and in general we just had some fantastic matches between people who were determined to win. I'm going to make it a tradition to break down the pay per view, match by match, so here we go, lets get this started shall we?
Match 1
NCW Showcase Match
This was a great match. My money was on Brad Kane and I'm sure a lot of people felt the same but DDK, he surprised me and managed to pull out this victory. Good job, and now he gets a title shot whenever/wherever he wants for any title he wants. Not a bad night for him.
Match 2
NCW X-Division Match
The Dueling AJ's put on a match that very well may have stolen the show. These men wanted that X-Division title and you could see it in the way they fought. There was no slowing down, there was no giving in, they just beat each other senseless. In the end Alex Jones took away his second X-Division title reign, but the young gun showed him a thing or two, it wasn't easy.
Match 3
NCW Women's Title Match
Zelda had a lot of emotion going into this match, you could see it on her face, you could tell it by the way she wrestled, she wasn't going to be denied her chance to be in the spotlight and prove Leonard Fox wrong and became the first NCW double champion. Ayla was a true sportsman in refusing to let Cleo blindside Zelda, and Zelda lived up to her promise and by throwing Ayla the Millenia title belt, assured her there was no hard feelings over this incident.
Match 4
NCW Xtreme Title Match
Sephiroth and Doc started a little hatred pretty fast, this “fued” didn't have long to develop, but man did it pay off. In one of the closet matches of the night this one literally went down to the wire and I couldn't tell who was going to win. Doc won his first NCW title, and he earned it, because Sephiroth did not give him an easy night.
Match 5
NCW National Title Match
Charlie Velez and Venom were both looking for their first taste of NCW gold in this match, and it seemed that all night Xavier Cross was going to lose that belt to one of them just because they both wanted it so much. Cross gave a fight, and he made it a memorable match but in the end we were right, Velez and Venom were just too much and Velez walked out with his strap.
Match 6
Casket Match
So the dual Dominici faced off to see who would have to stay Lord Dominicus for the rest of the year. You could see the hatred between these two as they battered each other, even destroying the first casket out there, forcing officials to bring out the backup one. Rob Diamond in the end barely pulled off the victory and he looked overjoyed to not be in that mask anymore.
Match 7
NCW Tag Team Match
Bates and Zane fought hard here, they wanted to keep those belts, but in the end it was just too much Falcon and too much Burns. Falcon was determined to avenge what InFamous did to him, and he finally got a measure of that accomplish.
Match 8
The Fight for Kelly Knite Match
-sigh- I don't know what to think about this... wait yes I do... it's a sham! Adam won that match, but my stupid father comes out and just gives me to Steve Awesome?! How pathetic is that, I made my choice, me and Adam are still together and still in love and now we have to deal with Steve being there every second of our lives for the next year.
Match 9
NCW World Title Match
All three men gave it their all, Gib and Angel stole the match away from our Gladiator with their intensity to each other, and in the end it was Angel who walked out with his second World title reign, in a fantastic duel.
So as you can see, other than one match I really thought this was a remarkable show, I honestly don't see how things could get much better than that. We had highly contested matches across the board and it was indeed A Night to Remember, I'm going to give the show a 9.6, which could have been higher if not for the screw job at the end of the Adam and Steve match, which I admit, is personal bias, but what are you going to do? This is my column.
PREVIEW OF THIS WEEK
Last Week's Record :: 5-6 :: God that was terrible.
Overall Record :: 52-31 :: At least I have a little padding for terrible predictions like that.
Upset of the Week Record :: 2-5 :: I got the match right, I just picked the wrong winner.... danggit.
Saturday Trauma
!!!UPSET OF THE WEEK!!!
Triple Threat
Joe Everyman vs. Freakke vs. JFK
I have no confidence in Joe Everyperson any more. The returning JFK will win this match. I'm only calling this an upset because JFK has been shelved for a good long time.
Singles Match
Tommy Victor vs. Seth Evans
He returned at the PPV to beat Chris Diamond in an impromptu match, and he'll ride that momentum.
Tag Team Match
Mmmmm vs. Divine Intervention
I wonder if anybody can beat these two mustachioed warriors.
Main Event: Xtreme Title Match
Doc vs. Nathan Doe
Going to have to go with the champion in this one.
Sunday Collision
Tag Team Match
Zelda Knite and Julietta Lee vs. Emma Danielson and Rayne
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. There is no point in voting against Zelda. Danielson and Rayne are going to be a good team, but not Julietta and Zelda good.
Singles Match
Kristoff Liam Bates vs. Severe Payne
Bates may have lost his tag team gold at the pay per view, but that won't slow him down, he's still a fine wrestler.
Singles Match
Tara Fenix vs. Cleopatra
I just know by picking Tara Fenix I'm going to be right one of these times, she's too talented to lose this much.
Singles Match
Venom vs. DDK
I'd like to go with the blonde haired wonder in DDK, but I just think Venom is going to rebound from not winning the National title, and pull out a victory here.
Non Title Tag Team Match
Motor City Mafia vs. Falcon and Philip Burns
This is a hard match to pick, I just think the new tag team champions are going to have more momentum than the former tag team champions.
Non Title Singles Match
Alex Jones vs. Rob Diamond
I guess "momentum" is the theme for this week, both AJ and Diamond have it, but I think Diamond might be more excited about not having that mask than AJ is over winning the X-Division title.
Main Event: Fatal Four Way Match
Adam Knite vs. Will Washington vs. Charlie Velez vs. Brad Kane
I can't vote against my man, the love of my life, my soul mate.
So there are my predictions this week. I'm going to try and rebound from a horrid A Night to Remember predictions... man those were bad, but I will pull through it Knitelife readers, and this week I predict I get at least 80 percent right. That's right, I'm predicting how many predictions I get right... sue me.
THE FAB FIVE
5. Doc :: Won the Xtreme title against a vampire, come on that's pretty good.
4. Alex Jones :: Showed the new AJ that he was still an X-Division force.
3. Rob Diamond :: He no longer has to wear the Lord Dominicus stigma around, it was an impressive win.
2. Angel :: 2nd world title victory wasn't easy, but he did it.
1. Zelda Knite :: The only champion to walk out with their title, and became the first double champion for a few seconds, not bad.
WHAT TO KEEP AN EYE ON
There is going to be a lot to watch this week, first I'll say keep an eye on this Adam and Steve situation... because I promise you it's far from over. Adam is not a happy man over what happened last night.
Then there is this main event of Trauma that will be an Xtreme title match. Doc is putting his title on the line very soon after winning it, and his body is pretty beaten up after his match with Seph, I might should of labeled it as my upset of the week.
You gotta see Seth Evans as well, the man looks refocused and frankly kind of scary with his new attitude. He looks like a man on a mission, and that mission doesn't look good for the rest of the roster.
Finally, the match with Julietta and Zelda... they've teamed before with bad results, and they have a history, a bloody one with each other. Will they pull together for a win against common opponents?
THE KNITELINE
Megan Kane;Boston, MA
I know you're getting close to giving birth so if you ever need any help at all, feel free to come to me. Five kids makes me a bit of an expert. Best of luck to you and I hope you don't have to cry on Sunday night!
Thanks Megan, I'll probably call for some advice. Oh, I didn't mind crying at first, those tears of joy at finally telling Adam he was the one, but after that.. it went downhill as you can see.
Vic; Des Moines, Iowa
Who do you think is going to be more of a MILF? Megan Kane or you?
Sorry Megan, but come on, it's gotta be me.
Maria Williams; Washington D.C.
Do you ever plan on competing in the nCw Women's Division? And if so, do you think you could get an upset win against your sister in law?
P.S: Does Steve really taste as awesome as everyone says he does?[/i][/color]
I may try my hand in the women's division after I have this child, but I may not since that'd require me to leave my commentary duties and I really love doing that. Me and Zelda have sparred before when she was training, and she couldn't beat me, but she's gotten a lot better sense then, so I don't know.
... and I'm not answering that.
Dan of Chicago
Kelly, there seems to have been a sudden burst of returning wrestlers as well as new wrestlers to ncw. who would you say has been most surprising of the bunch as a returning wrestler and/or newcomer?
I'll have to go with Venom, he had a lot of hype coming into this company, but the man has produced. He fell short at the pay per view, but I don't expect that to be his only chance. Another one is Doc, I don't know if he's lost since coming back or not.. he's been impressive.
Sarah, Richmond Virginia
Yeah, Kelly, now that Cleo and Ayla have developed a personal relationship do you think that this will open the doors for other lesbian women to break into the pro wrestling scene? Or do you think this will be merely an isolated incident?
I don't care? If they are lesbians, what does that matter? Why would other lesbians think NCW wouldn't accept them with open arms? Life choices mean nothing to NCW.
Bastion Saint; Pheonix, Arizona
If you could pick the next Pay-Per-View main event, what would it be?
Adam Knite vs. Steve Awesome, in a match for my freedom.
Simon Hewitt; Toronto, ON
Hi, Kelly. I was wondering if nCw was planning on doing any shows outside of the United States? I'd love to be able to go to Collision if you guys stopped by the Skydome. I only ask because I haven't seen a non-United States show in a very long time. It'd be nice if you'd let me and all of your international fans know. Thank you.
We've done several shows out of the US before, taking a tour of Canada for about 3 months before. If you check the new calendar you'll even see we have a show scheduled in Toronto coming up.
Well fans, that's all the questions for this week, keep them coming, I'm really enjoying this new section of the column.
MY CLOSING THOUGHTS
My sister-in-law did a great job, I'm proud of her, the Zombies are also really starting to love her "stage dive" she does after every win. People eat her up.
Charlie Velez will make a great National champion.
Rumor is that Gib is retiring because of fears of being too old... if that's true I'm going to miss that big oaf.
Rumor has it that Jimmy Zane walked out after A Night to Remember, it's a shame that somebody with such potential just can't allow himself to fulfill it.
Finally... I love Adam, for weeks I've been saying just that. That Adam was my husband, he was my life, that I loved him. I never questioned that I never once gave serious thought to leaving him. I just didn't want to hurt Steve. When I saw that, that was unavoidable I had to do something otherwise they'd have killed each other, and now it seems I may have only made things worse. Why can't I just find my way out of the middle of this? Why can't I just be with Adam and he and I can raise our child together happily ever after? I wish I knew.
Well NCW fans, that's all I've got for this week, I hope you've enjoyed another week of the Knitelife, and I hope you enjoy all the action this week. Until next time....
