That same dilapidated house. That same overwhelming creepy feeling. You almost just say screw it and go home but suddenly you hear a large crash and then a bunch of cats run and hide underneath the house. It came from the backyard and you go rushing toward it to see what it could have been. The backyard was like a jungle. The grass had grown long and thick, and the bushes had long since turned into trees that block anybody from seeing into the yard. You could see plenty of cats lining the tree branches and sunning themselves in the yard. Meanwhile The Cat Lady and Tommy the Cat are found training in a ring made with garbage.
The Cat Lady stands, gazing dementedly at Tommy The Cat as he gingerly peels himself up off the mat where Cat Lady slammed him down. He holds his back in pain and once he gets to his feet he stumbles back and leans against the garden hoses that are used as tape. Tommy nods his head.
“Okay…so….you obviously still have your strength.”
Cat Lady remains quiet and nods her head. Her matted down brown hair flaps along with the movement. Tommy takes another moment to grimace in pain before taking a sigh and walking closer to her.
“That’s good. But I’m not going to lie to you Cat Lady, this Joanne lady isn’t going to stay down with just strength alone.”
Her head snaps in anger toward his direction. He takes a step back and holds his arms up in fear.
“Hey hey…..don’t get angry with me. I have something to teach you that might be beneficial to you in the……*HACK* *HACK* *SPUTTER* COUGH* COUGH* HACK*”
Tommy holds the one moment finger up, leans over the side and spits something out on the ground outside the ring. He looks up at her and shrugs.
“Sorry…hair ball.”
He clears his throat.
“So anyways, I know a move that I can teach you that can help you in your match against Joanne. You see, she has an injured arm. One that has plagued her since the beginning of her career. I say you use that to your advantage Cat Lady. When you get into your match against her…..rip her arm straight out of socket. Show her and the people that they shouldn’t take you lightly…at all.”
She nods her head slowly and begins cracking her knuckles.
“It’s easy to do Cat Lady. Just take her arm into your paws and pull on it until you hear it pop. You do that and you’ll be on the right track again. Do you understand?”
She nods her head slowly, her face looking a lot like Gomer Pyles from Full Metal Jacket. Suddenly she reaches out and grabs Tommy’s arm. She twists it around and then uses her strength to hoist him into the air by his arm. Tommy cries out in pain before she yanks his arm down and he flips onto his back and shoulder. He whimpers a bit from the landing and holds his arm and shoulder in severe pain. He looks up at Cat Lady whose cold, soulless eyes, gaze off into nothing once more.
“A simple yes would have been fine….”
He groans a bit more in the ring before the scene fades.
We find her again. Sat in the corner of the hallway of her house. Her head leaned against the wall and her brown matted hair covered her face. She breathed slowly but methodically.
“The other day, I had to go get weighed in for my match on Suspense this week. Leon Wesker, the ncw medic, he was on hand to find the exact measurement so they could put it on my profile. After it was all over Leon cautiously walked up to me, like most people often do, and he took a seat next to me. After a few moments he finally worked up enough courage to open his mouth. He turned and looked at me with his tiny head attached to that pencil neck and he told me….He knew all about me. Said he had been studying up on me and found out how I lived. Who and what I decide to spend my time with and then he added on that he could help people like me. He said he wanted to find out what was wrong with me.”
She stays propped up but her head slides toward the ground.
“And I said…..”
She begins to laugh a little.
“What’s wrong with me? What makes you think there is something wrong with me? You live with cats, was his reply. You live in a run down house, you don’t dress or take care of yourself correctly. I want to help find out what made you this way Cat Lady, I want to find out what’s wrong with you. Then I told him….”
Her lip begins to curl with anger.
“Maybe….Leon….you need to change your question around a little bit…..DOCTOR. Maybe you need to stop trying to figure out whats wrong with me and start figuring out what’s wrong with all of them!?”
She points out toward a window. Outside where the rest of the world was.
“Maybe you need to stop poking and prodding through my head and find out whats wrong with people like JoAnne who feel it’s there duty to mock and harass people like me. There was never anything wrong with me. I was a good kid! I played with my dolls just like every other girl. When I grew up, I wanted to be a doctor or a lawyer just like any other kid. But that never panned out because of people like them. It never happened because of people like JoAnne.”
Tears begin to well up in her eyes as she grabs and tugs at her hair.
“God, JoAnne, do you gain some kind of twisted sense of self worth by showing those pictures to me? Did you feel as though you were better then me because you had a nice family that went out on family trips and loved and cared about each other. Was it your way of getting into my head because I garen-damn-tee you that you never want to get inside my head JoAnne. It’s not a great place to be in…take it from me…I live in it every day of my life. I’ve seen first hand just what my mind is capable and its not pretty. It’s dark, calloused, and ugly just like myself. And it was made that way because of people like you JoAnne. Pretty girls who insist on breaking me down into nothing but **** for some sort of personal gratification. You could have been different JoAnne, you could have been the first to show some sort of compassion toward me but you chose to go the same route as the rest of the world…..and because of that…..you get the same fate as the rest of the world.”
She finally looks up from her trance and moves her hair from her face. Her twisted gaze travels passed the lens itself.
“When that bell rings JoAnne, I’m going to unleash the pain that I keep buried inside me. I’m going to use you as an outlet to release the tension I’ve kept bottled up for all these years. I’m going to take that injured arm your too proud to have checked out and I’m going to pop it right out of it’s socket. I’m going to force you onto the shelf JoAnne, I don’t even care if I win the match or not. I just want to hurt you. I just want to maim you….I just want someone like you to finally FEEL SORRY for the horrible things they’ve done or said to me. You say you can take me out no problem yet you’ve never seen me in action. You don’t know what I’m capable of…but you soon will. You’ll see exactly what these hands are capable of doing once I put my mind to the right place……and let me just tell you JoAnne….”
A twisted smile forms on her face.
“….I’ve been waiting for this opportunity…for a long time.”
She starts to laugh as the scene cuts to static.
