Tempestad is hard-pressed to keep a straight face as he sits in the hotel room currently occupied by himself and his sister, Maria. Both of them are on the couch and Tempestad has Tommy Victor's video up on the wall.. He turns to Maria, sighing as he does so, and speaks with the demeanor of a man who'd just had a fifty-pound weight dropped on his chest.
“Maria...do you have any ideas for what to say to this man? I mean, apart from the obvious? Sometimes, these people can be so deliberately and frustratingly confusing that it drives me mad.”
Maria nods to Temp, taking a moment to mentally review the contents of the video. She grins, settling on something.
“Okay, here we go...Victor, you really want to complain about the PUNS? Between the “I'm going to beat the hell out of you” and “my wife stole my kids and my best friend left me” stuff, you decide to whine about the NAME PUNS? Please. Get over it. Did you hear Tempestad complaining when that idiot Nelly Angel was mangling his name on a weekly basis? No. You'd think that you could just grow up and stop caring about it. I think hermano managed to get over the name-calling when he was what, eight? Ocho, si?”
“Siete.”
“Seven. And where do you think you get off calling mi hermano a coward? He has never, EVER taken a shortcut in the ring. He always fights like a man. Just because he does not stand there and turn into a human punching bag doesn't mean he's a coward, you idiot! It's called a fighting style. Where's his belt? He hasn't had a shot at one. He got cheated out of his only chance at a title. If you want to get your kicks by insulting others' manhood, then be prepared to learn that Tempestad can do much more than just fly.”
Temp grins, patting Maria's shoulder. He looks over to her, nodding at her.
“My...you have a talent for this. Maybe I should just let you do all my talking for me?”
Maria flashes a grin back at her brother, clearly enjoying that prospect.
“Why not? After all, I'm already Sephiroth's manager. Helping you out won't be too much more work. And besides, I think this is going to be fun. Okay, Victor. Here's the story: You think you're one of the top-level superstars here? Please. I think that HEXX is a higher-level superstar than you are! See, you might be the Xtreme Champion. You might brag about your ability to cripple people with your bare hands. But honestly, if you think that luchadors are cowards? You need to do some real research. Lucha libre is FOUNDED on honor. It's the basis of the sport. High-flying is just what they do. If you really want him to face you like a man, I think Andrew has been teaching him some of his suplexes. How embarrassing would that be, Tommy? To talk trash about how much better your fist-fighting is and how mi hermano needs to fight like a man and then get taken down by technical wrestling? You'd look like a joke. Not that you need any help to do that...”
Maria nods, smiling as she really gets into the feel of things. She speaks just a bit louder now, letting her emotions shine through more than usual. Temp blinks, surprised that he was able to get this level of responsiveness out of her.
“Controversy? You want to talk about controversy? Talk to me. I was the one getting flogged for who I loved in front of millions of people! I got assaulted by that monster Karras! I can name off dozens of things more controversial than you in the last month: Charlie Velez smashing Cari Cross' gravestone. The Zelda and Falcon affair. The Adam/Kelly/Steve love triangle. The Ayla and Cleopatra incident. The Front Office's actions. Compared to all of those things, you're just a drop in the pond.”
Maria stands up, cracking her knuckles. Temp stands with her, solemnly nodding his head to help add effect to her words.
“If you think that mi hermano is going to be a pushover on Suspense, THINK AGAIN! You will have the toughest fight you've had since getting that belt. Considering your only opponent was Freakke the Clown, that isn't exactly stiff competition. On the other hand, if he won the X-Division Title, he has to be somewhat good. Here's a question for you, Tommy: did you break the undefeated streak of a man who had run roughshod over the competition for two months? Did you have to work your way up from the streets to get to where you are now? I heard your little tirade about your father. Just because you didn't like your papa, you think you had it bad? We had no parents! We were street orphans in Mexico! You have nothing on us. And nothing on Tempestad, because you will get put in your place. Count on it. Heaven is coming to Embrace you. And its Embrace is firm and harsh.”
Maria steps back, looking to Tempestad with a humongous grin on her face.
“Well, hermano? How did I do?”
He hugs her with an equally large smile. Maria bounces up and down in excitement.
“You did amazing. Come on, we need to finish watching the movie.”
The two sit down and we fade to black.
