OPENING
Here I am again, did you miss me? I hope so, because I sure missed you for this past week. Ok, maybe not really, because it's a lot of work to put this column together, but still.. I love you NCW fans and as always I'm here to entertain and enlighten you. So without any more rambling and space filling, how about we get straight to the column.
We had some great matches this week with some amazing action, some great twists and overall two A+ shows. I'm getting excited just thinking about some of the matches that are being set into place for the upcoming pay per view and everybody in the back and even in the ring hope you are as well.
Anyway, last week's poll was of course over what you fans thought the biggest surprise NCW has seen the past couple of weeks, and of course sense we have a Young Guns heavy audience it seems, Doc's walking out on the Front Office won. It seems like whenever I put a member of the Young Guns or Destructor into these polls they always win, which amazes me considering all the “desrespect” they talk about. Oh well, I guess that's just how it goes sometimes.
Anyway, this week's poll we're doing something different.... I'm not telling you what the answers are. That's right, you get to pick a number and I'll reveal what you picked the next week. How does that sound? Sounds good to me, but then again... I know the answers, ha ha! Oh, and you can select two numbers.
REVIEW OF LAST WEEK
At this rate we're going to have to start calling Collision NCW's weekly pay per view because man, the shows just keep getting better and better. We had some amazing action across both the shows with Trauma getting better and better and with Collision become more and more big name filled, I don't know how we can keep up this level of production but by God we'll do our best.
Trauma started off the weekend as always and did so with an amazing match between Falcon and Sephiroth Du Lac, that's right... that was the opener for Trauma. We got to see Joe Ragnal upset JFK in an Xtreme match that was back and forth, but most importantly was very entertaining. Congratulations to Rags on his win and for giving us all a great match. Finally for our Main Event, Zelda Knite returns from her concussion and again successfully defends that Women's title, this time doing it against the person who gave her that concussion Maria De La Rosa. It was fantastic seeing her get that measure of revenge, but it was even better seeing Rayne and Ayla St. James throwing their names into the fight against the dead girls. It's about time people stepped up and said enough with their antics. Good job girls.
Now of course, we move on to Collision.... I'm happier and happier that I get to sit at ringside for Collision ever week, because the shows are getting to the point where I want to use the term “phenomenal” but I hesitate because I don't want to get your hopes up too much here. Anyway, with matches like Adam Knite versus Charlie Velez and Doc versus Dave Holland... I just don't see how we can keep giving Collision away for free every week. The show was fantastic, kicking off with a hardcore match between Tempestad and Evan Andrews where you could just see how much both men wanted the win, JFK though had to get involve and ruin it for Tempestad who looked like he might be about to win. Andrews picked up the victory and afterwards he, JFK, Tempestad, and Joe Ragnal ended up in a huge brawl with 5,000 dollar fines thanks to NCW's sheriff.
Afterwards, things just got crazier and even more exciting, seeing Rob Diamond chasing his brother Maniac through the building, seeing Mike Machado return of course we just as awesome, and then seeing Steve Awesome and Brad Kane give DDK a double beatdown while Philip Burns was on commentary with us was just fantastic. There is a lot of emotions boiling over right now and I'm left just wanting to see more at the end of the night.
PREVIEW OF THIS WEEK
LAST WEEK'S PREDICTIONS :: 14-1 :: Holy Hell!? Wow... sorry... but come on.. 14-1! Look at that, only match I got wrong was picking Jason Blair to lose, and I really knew better than that.
OVERALL RECORD :: 176-102 :: I'm 75 up in the win column with that just golden picks I made last week, and I'm loving it, it almost makes up for my horried upset of the week predictions... and speaking of that....
UPSET OF THE WEEK RECORD :: 8-15 :: I finally broke my streak! I had gotten eight wrong in a row, but now thanks to that lovely blue haired kid, I finally got one right. All credit goes to Joe Ragnal... and me.. because I'm awesome.
Like I've been saying all night...this week is just going to continue the pay per view feel of our weekly shows. We've got some great matches lined up for you, and to end the week we have probably one of the best matches that Collision has seen in a long time and is a bit of a Battle Grounds teaser, and I'm not saying it's great simply because I'm in the match. Revolution versus Young Guns in a huge 8 person match, come on... even if I wasn't in that match it be freaking incredible, I'm just an added bonus, like sprinkles on a cupcake. Well... weithout waiting any longer... here are my predictions for these great shows.
TRAUMA
Singles Match
Nero vs. Jason Blair
:: Nero is been out for a while so I'm going to go with Jason Blair and say right now, I'm sorry I picked against you last week Jason... danggit, it was my only wrong pick too.
Tag Team Tables Match
Ron Gibson and Amber Ashe vs. Joe Everyman and Ashlie Ember
:: Oh this is going to be fun, Amber Ashe is a close friend of mine, she was the Maid of Honor at my wedding, so I'm not going to pick against her. And it helps that I hate Ashlie with so much passion.
!!!UPSET OF THE WEEK!!!
Singles Match
Maniac vs. Mike Honcho
:: This is an interesting match to say the least, father versus illegitimate man-child. It's going to be interesting and you know what... I'm calling this my upset of the week. Honcho wins it!
MAIN EVENT
Three Way Match
Ayla St. James vs. LaToya Ryder vs. Malice
:: A very good match up, LaToya has really impressed me the past couple of weeks and I think she has a bright future in this women's division, but I think it might be too early to say she could overcome Ayla St. James who is one of the best, right now. Ayla wins.
WEBSHOW
Singles Match
Hugo Conway vs. Hexx
:: I can't ever pick Hexx to win a match, I'm sorry, it's just not in my nature to be nice to him, just like it isn't in his nature to win.
Singles Match
Deathtrain vs. Mason St. Croix
:: I don't know much about this Deathtrain man, but He's been talked up by a few people in the back who have apparently seen him in the ring, and I guess I'll go with him to win his debut match.
Singles Match
Mark Evil vs. Jayson Matthews
:: Just like I don't pick Hexx to win, I don't pick Mark Evil to win either.
Honor Title Match
Gabriel Karras vs. Red Dragon
:: Since the Honor title has come back, nobody has been able to defend it successfully yet... and know if this week will be any different. I'm going to go with the champion here.
COLLISION
Tag Team Match
Angel and Alex Jones vs. Adam Knite and Philip Burns
:: I tend to just flat out admit my bias, but this week I'm going to try for something different, I'm going to pick Angel and Alex just to screw with you guys who keep talking about how bias I am.
Singles Match
Xavier Williams vs. Freakke
:: Tough one here, I think if Xavier Williams is on his game he'll win this match against the clown, but if he isn't then Freakke can easily knock him off. Tough, but I'll go with Williams.
Triple Threat Match
Joe Ragnal vs. Tempestad vs Ricky Johnson
:: Ricky Johnson was added to this match at the last minute, possibly to stop Ragnal and Tempestad from ripping each other's heads off. This is a tough one again, it's hard to pick against a champion and it's always hard to pick against Ricky, but Ragnal got me my first UotW prediction in 9 weeks right, so I'm going with him again.
Hardcore Match
Emma Danielson vs. Cleopatra
:: I'd love to see Emma just beat the holy s*** out of Cleopatra, and I think she'll do everything in her power to do just that, but it's a hardcore match and Cleo has more "support".
Singles Match
Xavier Cross vs. DDK
:: DDK is so unpredictable it's hard to vote against him because he's capable of winning any match at any time. However, Cross... I just got this feeling that he's about to break out at any moment and really show what he's all about and maybe I'm just favoring for what he did for me, but I'll go with him.
Singles Match
Steve Awesome vs. Milo Holland
:: Talk about your five star matches.... wow, Steve has to overcome a size and power advantage if he stands any chance here. He's the former World champion in this match, so I'll reluctantly side with him.
MAIN EVENT
8 Person Mixed Tag Team Match
Falcon, Will Washington, Andrew Jacobsen and Kelly Knite vs. JFK, Doc, Charlie Velez and Zelda Knite
:: Well I'm not going to vote against my own team and I try to make it a habit of not voting against Zelda, So I'm just going to say good luck to the Young Guns and good luck to my team of Revolutionaries.
THE FAB FIVE
5. Zelda Knite :: She's back and she's pissed off, she fought with a purpose and she got a victory over the person who almost killed her.
4. Dave Holland/Doc :: I'm going to give them both this spot despite who won, or who lost because of simply putting on an amazing match.
3. Will Washington :: He and Cross likely had the match of the night and he managed to avenge his loss to his one time best friend, and picked up a huge singles victory.
2. Evan Andrews :: Even though JFK came out and had an effect on the match, Andrews still put on a hell of show and was fantastic before then.
1. Joe Ragnal :: He beat the X-Division champion in an Xtreme match and took a lot of punishment, getting busted open like that. He gets the #1 spot for the gutsy effort.
WHAT TO KEEP AN EYE ON
:: Ok, I usually don't put Main Events here, because like I've said a thousand times, they'er main events for a reason, you already are going to keep an eye on them. However, this week is different for one, I'm in the match, and for a second one it can be considered a Battle Grounds preview, just without the cage or the eleminations. It's a huge match between the Revolution and the Young Guns and has several other factors in it, most notably revolving around Zelda. Girlfriend versus boyfriend, sister versus sister, and girl versus her best friend. It's going to be some interesting stuff.
:: Milo Holland's first single match in a long time is going to take place this week, and right away he's going to get thrown to the wolves with Steve Awesome as an opponent. Milo as you probably know is a former National champion, one of the first ones actually, so he's a good singles competitor, it'll just be interesting to see how he fairs after so much time off and without a tag partner to get a rest with by tagging in.
:: There is going to be a tables match on Trauma. Now normally I wouldn't do anything that promotes Ashlie Ember as a real wrestler, because well.. she isn't, but this week it's going to be an interesting match to say the least. Well and it also promotes Amber Ashe, who is my bestest friend. This should be a fine match and we don't see many table matches in NCW so that should just make it extra cool right there.
:: Then of course, you should keep your eyes on Jason Blair, the man has been doing a great job since he came back and despite my picking against him last week, he came out and totally kicked ass. So you'll want to watch him, he might be ready to make his mark on NCW.
THE KNITELINE
Paul Bradley; New York
Hey Kel, I have to say, this Evan Andrews kid has been impressing me recently. Do you think he's got the tools to go all the way?
:: I certainly do. I've been pushing him in this column for a while as the next big star in NCW and I still think he will be. I'm also sticking with what I've said before, if he's in this year's Road to the Gold tournament, that he's my dark horse pick to win the whole thing.
Michelle Machadeaux, France
How long before Mike Honcho paints a mustache on the tag titles?
:: I hope he does very soon, the only question is... who would his partner be? Apparently he and his dad aren't seeing eye to eye right now, maybe he and his uncle could go for the gold?
Patty O'Furniture, Boston Mass., visiting
Hello Kelly, my question is this. If you could construct a fatal four way elimination match for the nCw World Championship with only currently nCw wrestlers, which four would you pick?
:: 1. How can it be a "Fatal" four way if there are eliminations? 2. I'd have to go with Dave Holland, Falcon, Charlie Velez and Steve Awesome. That'd be an awesome match.
Leslie Sayonara, Tampa, Florida
OMG like, why aren't we talking more about Destructor! He's soooo cute and dreamy, and a pretty good kisser! Don't you think so? Actually, don't answer that, I don't want you kissing my man!
:: I thought I talk about Destructor quite a bit actually. He just hasn't been on NCW television since his beat down and being betrayed by Jaymie Boone, so there really hasn't been that much to say. I do hope he comes back and messes those fools up though.
Erica; San Fransisco, California
You're wrestling in the main event of Collision this week! I'm so excited! You're easily the most tolerable female on the entire roster. My question to you is this: Do you ever get intimidated mixing it up in mixed tags? You've got six big name wrestlers in there, three of which are on your team. Does that make you nervous at all?
:: I don't ever get intimidated, I might be the smallest person the roster, but I don't care... that happens and you can't really go into a match being scared because you'll be handicapping yourself if you do. It doesn't really make me nervous, except in the sense that I feel like I have to try and be as good as they are to justify being in the match. Like I'll have to try extra hard to prove I belong there.
Dr. Hitler; Currently in the Year 1997
If you could borrow my time machine for one night only, what is one thing that you'd like to go back in time and change about nCw? The outcome of a match? Stop a wrestler from leaving? Maybe keep one guy from ever being part of nCw? You could even insert yourself in some of the all-time great matches or feuds! Me? I'd wrestle Barry Horowitz.
:: Well if I could change one thing about NCW, it'd be... making sure Ace never won the second Road to the Gold tournament. It should of been Philip Burns, there was never a doubt in my mind who the better wrestler was at the end of that night and it wasn't Ace. If I could go back and wrestle in that tournament for the first Women's champion... I would, even though the little reason why I couldn't (Ryleigh) is the joy of my life and I wouldn't trade her for anything.
MY CLOSING THOUGHTS
:: So Falcon and Washington are dubbed lovingly "American Eagle" by me, so I guess that makes me and Jacobsen a team, so what should our tag team name be? I'm thinking...The Northern Knites... get it.. like "The Northern Lights" but with my name? Oh screw it.
:: So it's going to be Philip Burns versus DDK, round II at Battle Grounds. I've got to say, this makes me happy. They had a great triple cage match at Ascension and seeing them do it again.... wow.
:: Have I mentioned that my best friend is wrestling this week? I'm pulling for you Amber.
:: Last week Sephiroth Du Lac and then Freakke ruined what was likely going to be the match of the night with Adam versus Charlie Velez, word is that Velez was livid about it after the show. If there is one thing you can say about Velez, he loves to wrestle, meaning he wants to finish the match win or lose.
:: A second thing you can say about Velez is, he's a sharp dresser.
:: Sheriff Gib is a lot richer this week, he's got a cool 20k in his pockets from the fans he gave Tempestad, Ragnal, JFK and Andrews, that's a lot of beer and cheap women, I sure hope he doesn't find himself with another illegitimate child.
:: Speaking of illegitimate children... Mike Honcho has to face his dad this week. I wonder how he is going to handle this, and I wonder if his Uncle will get involved.
:: Falcon and Adam might be brewing a little rivalry over who is allowed to get their hands on Sephiroth Du Lac one on one first. Those two really care for that little princess of theirs and it shows. They also might have some competition from Freakke, but for entirely different reasons.
:: Doc and Dave Holland put on a hell of match on Collision, I want to see it again. Those two could wrestle twenty times and I think you'd see a 10-10 tie.
:: LaToya Rider, she's a monster and she's the future of this women's division, you mark my words.
:: Alex Jones and Angel are teaming up!? Whose bright idea was this!? My gawd, those two were nearly killing each other like two weeks ago! This should be very interesting.
Well fans, that's all I've got for this week. Make sure to tune in, you get to see me in action on Collision taking on my little sister Zelda, and you get to see American Eagle in the same match. There is going to be some great action, we have a few stars out to rehab some minor injuries, but everything is still shaping up to be a great show.
Until Next Time....
-- Kelly Knite
