OPENING
Hello again my fellow Knitelife followers, it's a pleasure to be coming back at you, another week another Knitelife, it's wonderfuly. Last week marked my official half a year straight of writing these columns which is just wonderful considering I went a few days over a year between my last Fox Report and my redebut into this column. Thank you everybody who has been a loyal follower and thanks to giving me the encouragement I've needed to keep this thing going for so long.
Now we've got a good deal of news to go over, first... yes, apparently Zelda is the illegitimate child of NCW's Sheriff, Gib. I just found out when she did last night so I really don't have any details for you on it. Also it looks like Gib is going to be issuing more fines to the foursome of wrestlers who just can't get along no matter how much he encourages them to find a way to do so. Tempestad, Rags, Andrews, and JFK's bank accounts are going to be a bit lighter.... well Temps and Andrews are, since apparently my dad is paying JFK's and Ragnal's. I wonder if Ragnal really has sold out? I don't know.
Now, last week's poll as you know was over your favorite number and I kind of used that to humorous effect with my special “Knitelife” I did for my match, but I assure you that the number was used for something else as well. You picked of course the lucky number seven. Not a bad choice, my personal favorite/lucky number is four, but you can't fault people for picking seven you know.
This week in honor of so many wrestlers having a “Super Kick” in their arsenal I've decided to have a poll over which superkick you think has the best name. I've decided to leave Doc off this list as we all know he'd win the poll hands down. I love you Doc. Anyway, have fun with the poll and lets see what everybody thinks.
THE WEEK IN REVIEW
Man, I just can't gush enough about how quality all the shows have been lately, I just want to rave and praise the hell out of them from the moment I wake up til I fall asleep in Adam's arms at night. They have just been great, with a ton of action and suspense. Let me repeat this, if you're missing them, you're really losing out on some great NCW action.. no some just purely awesome WRESTLING action period.
Anyway, Trauma as usual was a solid show. I think the tables match between Joe Everyman and his whore versus Ron Gibson and that awesome best friend of mine, Amber, was a fantastic, highly contested match. I hate Ashlie, but even I have to say I thought Gibson driving her through that table off the ring apron was disgusting but word from Joe backstage says she's doing just fine, a bit sore from the fall though. It was good to see Joe fight for her the way he did, he was like a man possessed after he saw Ashlie down, but come on.. did he really have to attack a woman? Amber didn't deserve that, jerk. Then of course how could I not mention Honcho taking on his father Chris “Maniac” Diamond... I just don't... don't know what to say about that situation at all. I've known Maniac for many years, and this just seems like he's snappped, a Maniac snapping you say? Yeah I know how scary just the thought of that is.
Now onto the meat of our reviews... Collision. -mindblown- wow. The opening match saw a teaming of Adam Knite and World Champion Philip Burns taking on the newest NCW tag team of men who formally wanted to kill each other Angel and Alex Jones. It was a highly contest match until DDK had to stick his nose in and cost Burns the match. Congratulations to Jones and Angel, they worked well together as a team, I don't know how they can just put it all behind them like that, but hey... if they can forgive and forget I guess we can too.
The match that probably stole the show, as much as I hate to admit it was Cleopatra taking on Emma Danielson in that hardcore match. It was a little unfair that a man got to wrestle a mummy, but whatever, it was still entertaining watching those two supposed ladies beat the hell out of each other. Then what kind of shameless self promoter would I be if I didn't mention that main event tag team match where my Revolution team defeated those Young Guns thanks to that lovely Andrew Jacobsen pinning JFK. I've gotta say though, those Young Guns outside of JFK showed a lot of class and pride wrestling that match. I know I dog them a lot, but they deserve a big round of applause for that.
Overall the shows again were just flat out fantastic. We saw a lot of great wrestling action and we saw a lot of twists. The Zelda Knite taking on the Dead Girls fiasco is really picking up some steam with Ayla St. James and Rayne siding with the princess, but you can still tell the Dead Girls are such a deadly force here in NCW, they aren't going to stop until they're not breathing anymore. Then this whole thing between Doc and Angel... wow, I just don't know how NCW can get more interesting right now, anyway, the shows were a solid B+ this week.
PREVIEW OF NEXT WEEK
We've got some good match ups for you this week I think. I mean seriously, we've got Steve Awesome taking on Ricky Johnson, in what should just be an amazing match between two guys who have the biggest egos in NCW. Andrew Jacobsen taking on Venom, these two have went at it before in amazingly close fights and this should be just as great. We're going to see Falcon and Adam Knite going toe to toe for the first time since Falcon slept with Adam's sister. Should be interesting -heehee- and we have not one, but two title matches heading into Battle Grounds. Tempestad and JFK have a chance to be the first men's double champion, and the first true double champion defending both belts. Then our Collision main event promises to be great one with Freakke and Sephiroth finally going at it since their breakup as a tag team, but also because they'll be getting shots at Charlie Velez's National title. Velez has been saying he wanted them since they ruined his match with Adam Knite a couple of weeks ago, here's his chance at revenge.
Anyway, without wasting any more time hyping these shows, how about we just get right to it and get to my predictions, shall we?
LAST WEEK'S RECORD:: 7-6 :: Definitely not as good as last week, but.. there were a lot of tough choices on the cards and we had some shenanigans going down so I'll take it, and just do better next week, I promise.
OVERALL RECORD:: 183-108 :: Five away from being 80 up in the win column, that's some good predicting if I say so myself, which I do. So there isn't anything you can do about it. Ha!
UPSET OF THE WEEK RECORD:: 8-15 :: Well, my upset was thrown out thanks to the match, so the record stays the same... horrible, then again getting it right this week would of only made it slightly less horrid.
TRAUMA
Singles Match
Zelda Knite vs. LaToya Ryder
:: I've got to go with my sister here, she's held that belt for so long for a reason. However, it's going to be tough since LaToya is so big and strong, she's definitely at the disadvntage.
Singles Match
Andrew Jacobsen vs. Venom
:: I can't go against my golden boy in Andrew Jacobsen here. However I think Venom has a very good chance of making me regret this choice of picking against him.
Tag Team Match
Joe Everyman and Gabriel Karras vs. Dave Holland and Jayson Matthews
:: This is a tough one, it's going to be hard for both teams to work together, really it is. I think Dave Holland can beat Joe, and I think Karras can handle Matthews.... man... I'm going to get gutsy here and say Everyman and Karras take this one home.
MAIN EVENT
Tag Team Match
Maniac and Rob Diamond vs. Joe Ragnal and Evan Andrews
:: Another match just like the last, both teams are going to be hard pressed to work together as a team. However Maniac and Diamond are brothers so I think they have the edge here and I'll go with them.
WEB SHOW
Singles Match
Deathtrain vs. Hexx
:: Not picking Hexx. Ever.
Singles Match
Rayne vs. Emma Danielson
:: Two big and strong women, two tough women, it's almost like they're looking into mirrors with their wrestling styles. Emma's been on quite the roll lately, so I'll go ahead and side with her here.
Singles Match
Hugo Conway vs. Nero
:: Really impressed with this Hugo Conway guy from his first match, sure it was just Hexx, but you could see some talent there and Nero has never really been important at all in NCW, so I'm not picking him to win crap until he starts proving me wrong.
Singles Match
Mike Honcho vs. Jason Blair
:: A tough one, I'm going with Jason Blair here, I know I know.. don't bet agaisnt the stache, but Jason Blair has just been so good lately that It's hard to pick against him.
COLLISION
Singles Match
Xavier Williams vs. Ron Gibson
:: Well this should be interesting for reasons I shouldn't have to say. I just wonder if Ron is going to wear his white hood to the ring?... I'm sorry that was tasteless of me. Anyway, I'm picking Xavier Williams to win this match.
Hardcore Match
Red Dragon vs. DDK
:: I really love this Red Dragon guy, he's got a bright future but he's taking on the man who very well could walk out of Battle Grounds as the World champion, so I'm sorry I have to pick against him this week. DDK for the win.
Singles Match
Adam Knite vs. Falcon
:: Tough one, I don't know what's going on here, but I hear it was a requested match. I'm going to side with my husband though. I still think he secretly harbors some anger at the fact Falcon took his sister's “innocence” and just refuses to say so.
Title for Title Match
Tempestad vs. JFK
:: Tempestad puts the Xtreme title on the line and JFK puts the X-Division title up for grabs in this match. These two haven't been able to get along for weeks and have drug Ragnal and Andrews into their little scuff as well. It's a tough choice, but I'm going with Tempestad for the victory.
Singles Match
Doc vs. Alex Jones
:: This is going to be a good one and a close one, I believe Alex Jones got the upper hand the last time they fought, so I'm siding with Doc here and saying he gets some payback?
Singles Match
Ricky Johnson vs. Steve Awesome
:: Oh wow, this match, wow. Ok enough wowing, I'm going with Awesome here, he bounces back from his loss last week and manages to defeat Ricky.
!!!UPSET OF THE WEEK!!!
Main Event
National Title Match
Charlie Velez vs. Freakke vs. Sephiroth Du Lac
:: Oh man, I just know Charlie is going to make me regret this. I just know it. However I'm going with my gut and I'm thinking Sephiroth Du Lac takes the next step here and keeps climbing that ladder.
Well there you have it, my predictions. I feel good about some, some others not so much but I made my bed and I'm going to lay in it. Enjoy the shows this week fans, I hope you get a kick out of all these actions.
THE FAB FIVE TOP PERFORMERS
5. Angel :: Pinned the world champion in that tag team match, that's good enough to make this list.
4. Joe Everyman :: Gutsy performance by Everyman in that tables match. I may not agree with whatever is going on between him and Ashlie, but he was a different man when he saw her hurt... he was violent.
3. Ricky Johnson :: Ricky Johnson is officially back people, he defeated two of the best youngsters NCW has, Way to go Ricky!
2. Emma Danielson :: It's tough to beat Cleopatra one on one, it's even harder to do it in a match without rules, she did and took a beat down for her efforts, and gets the #2 spot as a reward.
1. Andrew Jacobsen :: He picked up the win for my team giving me a 3-0 record against Zelda. Isn't that awesome. Great stuff Jacobsen my boy.
WHAT TO KEEP AN EYE ON
:: Falcon vs. Adam Knite :: Are you seeing that? Last year around this time at Battle Grounds they ripped each other apart with the NCW World Title on the line, and now this year heading into Battle Grounds they will go at it another time in what could easily be the match of the night. It's interesting to say the least as they are good friends, and may possibly be brothers-in-law someday, so what's up with this match?
:: Jason Blair :: He's been on a roll, he's been tearing through anybody who stands on his way. The man who used to follow around a mediocre wrestler, saving his rear end on countless occasions as now stepped out into the spotlight and is really turning a lot of heads. Make sure to watch him this week so you can't say you missed his rise to the top.
:: Doc vs. Alex Jones :: This is very interesting. I'm not sure what is going on between Doc and Jones/Angel but it's getting intense to the point so that there had to be a match to settle whatever it is. It's going to be good just for the fact that Doc and Jones are two of the best wrestlers in NCW, make sure you watch this fans, it will be right up there competing with the Knite versus Falcon match for the “show stealer” title.
:: Hugo Conway :: He made a successful debut and he looks to continue that success this week taking on a much tougher opponent in Nero. I think he can do it, and I think if he continues to work and try to be the best he has a bright future here.
THE KNITELINE
Jon Felix Anthony Seena Jr; Not Massachusets
Whats the over/under on Alex Jones bragging about beating Philip Burns before, despite the fact that he is obviously not World Champion and Phil obviously is?
Has he nothing else to say about the champ?
:: I'd say there is a solid 100% chance of that happening. Not just because it's already passed, but because that's Alex Jones, he holds onto the past with a vice like grasp.
Mark; Canada
Bigger bust: 'Mr. nCw' Justin Reynolds or your chest?
:: -sigh- I'd love to say my chest, and I'm sure Adam wishes the same... but it's gotta be Mr. NCW, and he showed so much moxie too, shame really.
Kurt Reynolds; Los Angeles, California
Now that Mike Machado is back, and Mike Honcho is easily the most popular wrestler ever, this mustache craze seems to be here to stay. My question to you is which nCw wrestler do you think could benefit the most from the power of the 'stache?
:: Joe Everyman, he could really use the manliness that a 'stache would bring him. Also I think Will Washington needs a nice handle bar mustache, it'd be 10 kinds of awesome.
Cody Streets; North Carolina
I'm asking all the women of the nCw. Which superstar do you think is the best looking? Most dashing, if you will? p.s. betcha won't not pick Adam Knite.
:: of course it's Adam, however I'll go out and pick somebody different just because you challenged me. Andrew Jacobsen, big surprise.
MY CLOSTING THOUGHTS
:: I can't believe that Zelda is Gib's daughter. I was shocked and so was she, she couldn't even react. Poor girl, it's one thing after another in her life. Why can't things just be easy?
:: This whole DDK and Burns thing is really entertaining, people questioned how they'd do main eventing NCW and they've really brought some great stuff to the table, nobody should every doubt them again.
:: Charlie Velez is a very honorable man who for a guy who tries to portray himself as a douchebag. I was on the ground, ready for attack and he let me get up and make the tag, come on Charlie, admit it, there is a nice guy just waiting to pop out of there.
:: I wonder if Ragnal and Andrews are going to be a little upset over the fact Tempestad and JFK are going for the double titles when they recently beat each man? This is going to be interesting.
:: Joe Everyman, I don't know what's going on between him and Ashlie as I said earlier, but it was truly a good thing to see him that worried about her, even though he should've been worried about his wife with the broken wrist as well... I don't know what's going on anymore.
Anyway fans.. that's all I've got this week. I really hope you enjoyed it and I'll be here next week for another exciting addition.
Until Next Time...
