Since the last wrestling discussion is of Daniel Bryan's firing and return, I figured I'd spice up the wrestling discussion with talk of Night of Champions, a PPV name that Vince stole from XHF.
I thought the show was actually pretty good. The best match of the night IMO was Bryan vs. Miz. They gave them a lot of time to tell a great match, very back and forth. I was hoping Miz would lose and then cash in his shot later, but that jerk didn't do it. The Kane vs. Undertaker match exceeded my expectations as well, a great big man match, with a surprising outcome. I didn't expect Taker to lose cleanly, if at all, or at least not without some crazy stunt that evil Kane usually pulls out. I think Kane is finally getting a great storyline after a long time of taking crappy ones, and who knew it'd be with the guy he's basically been feuding with his entire time in WWE. I think when its over, he might retire though. Better to go out on a high note anyway.
My guess with the Diva's belt and Women's belt being unified while LayCool is co-women's champion will lead to an imminent break up over who gets to be the unified champ, but after that, I don't see where the storyline goes for the belt. And I just don't like Michelle, so I wish she wasn't the one to win it, but I guess marrying the Undertaker has its advantages. The Unified tag gauntlet seemed thrown together at the last minute, but at least its a way for the Harts to be the challengers again, yet keep credibility as they never lost to the new champs. I like Dolph, so I like he retained.
The WWE title match was okay, they've transitioned Orton into the unstoppable face role and seemed to have taken it away from Cena, which I like since Orton is a way better wrestler. Plus they've furthered the Cena/Nexus thing, so I'm guessing they'll do some sort of big tag match in a HIAC or something. Jericho leaving sucks because he's awesome, and I could tell from his promo he was going to be the first one out, and quickly, but he still pulled it off in a way that was entertaining. He freaking rocks.
CM Punks match seemed short, but I think they might have rushed it because it looked like Punk injured the Big Show with that dive to the outside. It was cool to see him yelling at the fans and still getting cheered.
