OPENING
Hello Knitelife fans, sorry for the delay, but I got kind of busy Sunday night after the show (when I typically write this column) and it just lasted all day yesterday, but here I am, have no fear, Kelly knite is reporting for duty and going to bring you the best Knitelife she possibly can right now. I hope you enjoy this and I’m sorry in advance if this isn’t up to my normal quality that you’ve come to expect from me.
Starting right off, last week’s poll was about what match you were most looking forward to, and obviously the winner was the main event, that huge Warfare match. I’m not blaming you because well that is a match you have to get excited for, I’m only going to point out that’s exactly the reason I usually don’t add matches of that nature to the polls, because they’ll obviously win. It was a great choice though, so dont’ think I’m saying otherwise, job well done.
Now this week’s poll, is going to be about which match you thought turned out really well, considering your views on it going in before hand. Let me point this out, it isn’t what match you thought we the best, it’s not which match was better than them all, it’s a which match did you think turned out better than you expected poll. Did that Three way match to open the show turn out really well and have you entertained? Maybe that X Championship match was even better than advertised. Let us know.
REVIEW OF LAST WEEK
As NCW pay per views tend to be, last week was awesome. I mean it. From the first match where we saw Jason Blair continue his winning streak down to that huge main event, plus everything in betwee. The show on a whole was just outstanding. There was a lot of action and there were some big surprises.
It’s really good that the Revolution team won and defeated the Front Office, but the best thing of the night for me, and this is completely bias, was seeing the Darkside Society completely decimated. They had claimed to be running rampant through this company for weeks, but when push came to shove they didn’t stand a chance. The BWA put away Maria and Malice with little fight or effort, Zelda put Cleopatra out of NCW with her wicked shot, dumping Cleopatra on her head, and finally Adam brought Count Chocula to his knees. Good stuff.
Seeing DDk as the NCW champion may not be what I expected, but it’s a good thing seeing somebody try so hard and work his way so far up, and finally see him rewarded for it. It was also great to see Mike Honcho win his first NCW title on the Wired webshow, he really deserved it and lastly I just want to say good job to everybody who made this show another great one in the NCW history books. It was indeed fantastic.
REVIEW OF LAST WEEK
Oh man do we have some great matches this week, then again it being the first week of the ROAD TO THE GOLD IV! tournament, I really didn’t expect anything less. This is the beauty of the first week of this kind of tournament, it’s the fact everybody is in the same position, everybody has the same goal. They want to win this first round match and move on, despite knowing there are potentially three more matches left for them, they are willing to put their bodies on the line to win a shot at that world title.
Just think about it, this week starts a path where if somebody in this tournament wants to be the World champion, they’ll have to win five straight matches. If somebody wants to be on the top of the mountain, they’ll have to go through virtually the entire roster.... literally, just to get there. it’s going to be an amazing couple of weeks and I just can’t wait.
LAST WEEK’S RECORD:: 11-3 :: Oh yeah... that’s what I’m talking about guys, I had a great week this week.
OVERALL RECORD:: 201-116 :: Choke on that! 200 correct predictions, 85 up in the correct column! Come on, give me my props will ya. That’s impressive.
UOTW RECORD:: 9-15 :: So... it looks like I forgot to name an upset last week, thanks for pointing that out fans, well regardless.... I’m going to be starting something new this week, instead of trying to obligatory pick upsets despite the fact that I don’t want to a lot of times. I’m going to start picking my “locks of the week”, pick a couple matches where I will almost guarantee who the winner is going to be.

THE FAB FIVE: TOP PERFORMERS
5. Jason Blair :: Hey, he’s been on a roll and he carried that into the pay per view. Good job at earning that National title shot Jason.
4. Mike Honcho :: Took away his very first NCW title by becoming the Honor champion after defeating Gabriel Karras
3. DDK :: Hey came out of Battle Grounds as the world champion, that’s enough for me to declare him as the number one spot. EDIT: Until i saw him being a jerk.. so i kicked him down to three.
2. Joe Ragnal :: He had to face off against two champions and the electrifying Evan Andrews coming into the pay per view, but it didn’t slow him down and now he’s the first ever X Champion in NCW.
1. Will Washington :: He picked up the win for the Revolution in that huge Main Event, what more can I say?
WHAT TO KEEP AN EYE ON
:: ROAD TO THE GOLD IV :: Ok, this is a cop out... I’m only picking this as my “what to keep an eye on” because really... what else is there to say? Just think about it, it’s our fourth ROAD TO THE GOLD tournament, it’s the fourth time somebody will earn themselves a shot at the world champion at the pay per view. It’s going to be huge, it’s going to be amazing, insert any word you can think of for excitement and it’s going to fit because this is going to be that awesome! You don’t have to keep an eye on anything else, because this should be good enough, this should be all you need to see. We have some great matchups, some people are going home in the first round where if they hadn’t drawn who they drew, very well could of lasted much longer. This tournament is heart breaking, it’s career making, it’s what NCW is all about, and you better not take your eyes off of it for a GD second.
:: These New Comers :: We’ve gotten a lot of new faces in NCW the past couple of days and I just want to welcome them and tell you guys to keep an eye on them because I know a few are very talented. The women’s division is getting a lot of fresh faces especially which is a good thing since apparently Z is makign them drop likes flies.
THE KNITELINE
Chris; Glasgow
Hi Kelly, wow, still a little shocked at Charlie finally losing the National Title. Do you think though, with Road to the Gold around the corner, it might work out for the best?
:: I think for a competitor like Charlie, the National title would only slow him down. Sky is the limit for that man.
DDK; Los Angeles,
Hey Kelly, it's Diamond Dallas Kanyon here. How are things? Remember that time we wrestled in jello, man that was great. Anyway, I'm about to be world champion and I don't like how you just blow over it. I mean, that prediction for the match was barely even a prediction. I realize Burns has tarnished the belt and all with his lameness so you don't want to talk about the world title, but I will be your world champion after Sunday, and I will win in a way that brings that belt back to glory. So if I'm not number one in your fab five, you will feel...the...BANG! Otherwise, keep up the good work.
:: I remember the Jello pit match... not one of my fondest memories, and you know what.. I had you as the #1 until I saw this... then I took you down to number 3.
Pete, Melbourne
I've been reading rumours online about the possible return of nCw superstar Jack Manson. Unfortunately I only started following nCw recently, can you tell me a little about this guy?
:: He was one of the original NCW guys, came very close to taking the first Road to the Gold tournament home with him, and was the first National champion, I could go on and on about how great of a wrestler he is.
Dave T. Zombie, K-Town PA
I'm assuming this reaches you after the Road to the Gold participants are picked, so I figured I'd ask who you would pick to make it to the Semi Finals. You know, who do you think the Last 4 will be?
:: I don't know who's going to be facing who in the second round after winning this week, so I'm doing this kind of blind. But give me Joe Everyman, Charlie Velez, Jason Blair and Dave Holland
Nathan; Fairfield, Virginia
For all the brooding talk and declarations of taking down Zelda Knite once and for all, the efforts of that Darkside group didn't seem to be very strong...almost like they didn't show up at all. Is this the biggest flop you've ever witnessed?
:: It's right up there with Davey Ortega's rematch for the world title at the first Mind Games.
Deez; The Further Most Region of Saturn
Joe Ragnal. Great wrestler or the greatest wrestler ever?
:: Wouldn't call him the greatest, but the dude is awesome.
Carlton Lassiter; Santa Barbara, California
What's Brad Kane's deal? He totally pussed out in the Warfare Match. Do you think maybe he's losing his touch?
:: Brad Kane has a history of getting down on himself and it may have been another case of that.
MY CLOSING THOUGHTS
:: DDK as the world champion? Should be interesting.
:: Zelda destroyed Celopatra. I’ve never seen that look in her eyes, that smile in her face... that look of blood lust, it was scary. Looked way too much like her brother.
:: Will Washington, the man who once saved my life, thank you again my friend. Good job picking up that final pinfall.
:: I’m loving the surge of fresh talent into NCW, makes me really happy.
:: You know what else makes me happy? A Charlie Velez and Falcon main event on Collision.
:: You know what doesn’t make me happy? Jack Manson not giving a definitive answer... COME BACK JACK!
:: I can’t wait to see who walks out as the ROAD TO THE GOLD winner this year.
-- Anyway, that’s all I’ve got for now, and i hope you really enjoyed another week of this column, until next time....
