OPENING
It would seem that the rumors of my demise were greatly exaggerated as yet again, here I am ready to give you the rundown on all the great NCW action from this past week and heading into the current shows coming to you from Sacramento California. Of course the big news is we are down to the final four men in this tournament, and DDk’s second week of “Second Chance Challenges” is under way.
We’ve got a lot to get into this week, with all the news and all the happenings of NCW recently I’ve just gotta get right to it, so we’ll get talking about last week’s poll shall we? As you know you were asked to pick the final four and you came up with Dave Holland, Charlie Velez, Andrew Jacobsen and Alex Jones and you were really close, you hit 50% and I can’t say I really fault any of your choices at all. Alex Jones and Evan Andrews was an insanely close match that really could of went either way and with that so was the Ricky Johnson and Andrew Jacobsen match. So good job everybody, you were right there with the predictions in fact we ended up with the exact same predictions and tied this little contest.... well damn, maybe you should be helping out with this column? No? I didn’t think so. Ha ha.
With this week’s poll I’m going in a different direction. That’s right, totally different... really. A couple of weeks back I broke the news that NCW was looking to retiring some PPV names in the interest of keeping things fresh heading into our fourth year of existence. Well you are going to get to help! Isn’t that fun!? I had reported that Mind Games was going to be the first victim, but I’ve been told that you can save it, that’s right if it’s the least picked name on this poll... Mind Games is going to stay! So here we go... what two Pay per view names would you like to see changed? I’ve left off Road to the Gold and Picture Perfect because that's NCW's big show and well.. I just love the name Picture Perfect.
So there you have it, what would you like changed? Remember, Mind Games stays.. if it’s the LEAST picked option.Get your votes in, make them count and make sure to vote against Transgression... I always hated that name. Ok.. sorry that was bias of me, but remember just because you picked it to be changed... doesn't necessarily mean it will be.
WEEKLY REVIEW
So we had a lot of great stuff going on this week. I hate that some things are getting overlooked because of the Road to the Gold tournament going on, but sadly that’s just how things go sometimes. There is a lot of focus on this tournament and for good reasons. Just remember to keep your heads up because it’ll only be for this month, then we can get back to our regular awesome weekly drama.
Trauma was again very solid, featuring five... that’s right five matches this week. The show is growing every week and it’s getting dangerously close to Collision status. We had possibly the two best Road to the Gold matches this week on Trauma with the Main Event going right down to the wire in a hard fought match and Ricky Johnson taking down Andrew Jacobsen earlier in the night. We had some great women’s action on the show after those two matches. Christina Vyper looks to be very good as does Trish Newborn. They could be early candidates for challengers to either Zelda or Emma’s title next month. The show again was what we typically have come to expect from Trauma, meaning it was a great lead in, heading towards Collision.
Now Collision... what a show.. except for those freaking Young Guns just having to get involved in the tag team title match. The tag team title match was overlooked all week because of this tournament, it started off like it was going to steal the show and then just because they are jealous twats, we see Doc and Venom ruin it. That infuriates me, if that match would of kept going it would of been the highlight of the night... ugh. Anyway, after that we did have a great show regardless. With Knitingtonman coming out victorious, with Williams and Velez just beating the hell out of each other and down to the main event that again was sadly tainted with the presence of Jason Blair. I don’t know what it is with douche-bags ruining great matches this past week.
Alright, anyway, the shows were great and I enjoyed them very much. A lot of effort clearly went into them and good luck to everybody this week.
THE FAB FIVE
5:: Alex Jones :: He didn’t win a match this week but he turned in a gutsy performance on Trauma and then came right back the next night to wrestle in a tag team title match. You can’t question how much he loves to win.
4:: Brad Kane :: He once again took on Retirement in a huge battle of the ages and he picked up another win over the three headed demon, this time with a little help from his three year old.
3:: Ricky Johnson :: I don’t think many people gave him a chance despite the fact that he’s always been right up there with the best of them as far as championships go. The bigger the match, the more Ricky produces... we all knew better than to doubt him.
2:: Dave Holland :: Advanced against Freakke despite being in a match earlier in the night... I call it a match loosely as it turned into a Young Gun beatdown, but despite that it was a great effort to keep his world title hopes alive.
1:: Charlie Velez :: Defeated the former World Champion Xavier Williams to advance in into the Semifinals of the tournament. He’s been amazing throughout this whole tournament and I expect that to continue this week.
PREVIEW OF THE WEEK
I’ve very excited about this week. Not only because we are crowning the Road to the Gold finalists, oh no, but because of all the other matches that we have lined up. We’re going to see Angel teaming with Doc to taking on Andrew Jacobsen and Falcon... talk about tension. Espcially considering it seems AJ and Zelda’s “friendly relationship” has possibly turned to something else and because of Angel porking Doc’s sister. This is only one of the great tag team matches we got lined up though, Knitington makes another appearence and The Rat Pack team for the first time.
A lot of good stuff is going down this week. I don’t have to tell you about the tournament and I shouldn’t have to tell you about DDK’s Second Chance Challenge that looks flat out amazing this week with Kanyon taking on Alex Jones who just narrowly found himself on the outside of the RTTG tournament.
With some great singles matches, with some flat out awesome tag team matches, the Road to the Gold Tournament and even a Women’s battle royal... this is going to be a very entertaining week and I can’t wait to sit behind that table and call the action as it happens. This is going to be one of those weeks you’ll regret missing so much sure you don’t, trust me... just look at all the action on the cards, it is going to be beautiful to watch unfold.
PREDICTIONS
LAST WEEK’S RECORD:: 11-4 :: That’s more what I’m used to, I thought It was going to be bad when I was checking my scored and saw I was 4-4 in the first 8 matches, but I came back strong and got the entire Collision right except for the tag team title match that got thrown out.
OVERALL RECORD:: 220-128 :: Oh my God... DO YOU SEE THAT!? I’m only eight right predictions over .500 of being up 100 in the win column! Come on, it’s ok to tell me how awesome I am, I won’t mind.
TRAUMA::
Tag Team Match
Ander Carvetti and Johnny Holliday vs. Freakke and Jason Blair
:: I don't see Freakke and Blair being able to coexist in this match.
Singles Match
Zelda Knite vs. Kris Titan
w/ Emma Danielson on commentary
:: Really? Like I have to explain why I would pick Zelda here?
Singles Match
Venom vs. Brad Kane
:: I've been told that Venom has never beaten Brad Kane, and it would look really bad to come back after "retiring" to lose your first match.
MAIN EVENT
ROAD TO THE GOLD MATCH
Ricky Johnson vs. Charlie Velez
:: Such a hard match to pick, and I hate to pick against Ricky but Velez has been on such a roll.
COLLISION::
Singles Match
Mike Honcho vs. Tempestad
:: The Honor champion and the master of the stache is a god bet any week.
Women's Battle Royal
Annabella LaRouge vs. Christina Vyper vs. Trish Newborn vs. Rayne
:: Hard one to call, all of these ladies look to be good wrestlers but I'm going with Vyper here.
Tag Team Match
Joe Everyman and Gabriel Karras vs. Knitington
:: Of course I'm going with my husband and the man who saved my life, and the team I named.
Three Way Match
Chuck Moss vs. Joe Ragnal vs. Mike Machado
:: This is my upset of the week pick, Chuck Moss will go out there and surprise these men.
Tag Team Match
Andrew Jacobsen and Falcon vs. Angel and Doc
:: I have to think that Jacobsen and Falcon despite whatever is going on with Zelda will be able to work better as a team.
SECOND CHANCE CHALLENGE
Alex Jones vs. DDK
:: DDK will be lucky if I don't climb into that ring and bitch slap him.
MAIN EVENT
ROAD TO THE GOLD MATCH
Dave Holland vs. Evan Andrews
:: I said for months that Andrews would be my dark horse pick to win this tournament... and I'm not going against that.
WHAT TO KEEP AN EYE ON
4:: Dave Holland vs. Evan Andrews :: I’ve said for a while that if Evan Andrews was in this tournament he was my dark horse pick to win the whole thing. Now here we are down to the final four and here is Evan Andrews up against his biggest test to date. This is a huge match and a great opportunity for this man. This right here other than the Final is probably going to be the biggest match of the tournament one of these men is going to lose and one of these men won’t deserve the loss.
3:: Chuck Moss :: He’s hit a rough spot in his progression thus far in NCW but the guy has got talent, believe me. He is going to go far in this company if he keeps working on getting better and fine tuning his skills. You’ll want to keep an eye on him on Collision, this is a perfect match for him to really turn some heads up against the X-Champion and Mike Machado.
2:: Knitington :: They are the undefeated force of NCW, they are the future of tag team wrestling with their innovating moves and their general good looks. Ok... this was a completely biased, I didn’t know else what to say fill in answer, but that’s the best you’re getting, got it? Besides, they really are undefeated. Can Joe Everyman stop them? HAHAHA, I couldn’t type that with a straight face.
1:: Women’s Battle Royal :: As a female, I’m a big fan of the Women’s Division around here, I’m going to try and pimp it the best I can, whenever I can. Right now is the perfect time, three youngsters and Rayne square off in this Battle Royal. Should be very entertaining as all four of them are desperately looking to make names for themselves and get a possible shot at Zelda/Emma, this match will go a long way in securing said title match.
THE KNITELINE
Mason Quarry, Yuma AZ:
" Kelly...I'm interested to see who would be your "hard-luck" pick of the people who have been eliminated from Road to the Gold tournament, and who could have made it a lot farther in the tournament under other circumstances or perhaps with a different draw.
My pick would have to be Doc, for sure...and maybe Alex Jones, too. Any thoughts on yours?"
:: Gotta be Maniac. He could of been in the finals if it wasn't for drawing Dave Holland in the first round. In a close second place, it's easily Falcon.
Dave T. Zombie, K-Town, PA
Alright, we're down to four wrestlers(by the time this is replied to anyhow), whose your top pick to win?
Also, out of idiotic curiosity, who would win in a burrito eating contest? Hexx or a Goat?
:: Going to stick with Evan Andrews, and of course the Goat wouldn't stand a chance. Hexx is the national burrito championship's gold medal winner four years in a row.
Joesph Polo, Nevada
If your show wrestled Venom's show in a Hell in a Cell, who would win?
:: Seriously? Mine of course. No offense to Venom, but clearly my show is superior.
Warren Mills, Los Angeles
Way back when, nCw teamed Freakke and Blair up for a handicap match against Seth Evans that Freakke flipped and left Blair to be pinned. With the back and forth history between these two, do you think they'll even be able to coexist?
:: No, I do not. Especially not with Blair siding with that insano Gabriel Karras. These two will be lucky if they can stop fighting enough to get pinned.
Tim; Denver, Colorado
In Kanye West's song "Runaway" he toasts to all the douchebags, jerkoffs, asshole, and scumbags. I'd like you to toast and say something nice about the biggest douchebag in nCw. And it can't be Steve."
:: Will Washington has nice hair.
Jennifer Bradley; Dover, Delaware
How come I never see you at the Andrew Jacobsen fan club meetings? I put out cookies and punch, yet you never come. I call and call and you never show up......I'm so lonely....Jennifer
:: Zelda told me I had to stay away from him, she threatened to gut me like a Tauntaun... whatever the hell that's supposed to mean.
Vincent Sharusso; Orlando, FL
If Gib isn't Homeless Harold, who is? Is it possible that it's a psychotic mass murderer using nCw as a cover for the violent slaughter of innocent children? And if so, shouldn't you guys be cooperating with the FBI!?
:: Screw the FBI, all they are good for are being jokes in popular movies. And I think I know who this new Harold is, but I'm not saying anything.
Dergark O'Evilihuntgan; Somewhere on the Jersey Shore
Hey Kelly, my question is this. I think that Joe Everyman sometimes could be a good tag team wrestler. In your opinion, who would you want to see him team up with the most and why? Also, who the hell is that Dr. Sam Hopkins guy that was mentioned on Collision last night? I called in to get rid of this rash, and he wanted me to take my pants off as soon as I got there. And the rash is on my arm.
:: Haven't I already answered this question once... are you really Joe Everyman just trying to get his name mentioned more!? Dr. Sam Hopkins is the one who diagnosed Joe Everyman with that notorious "Knee Stinger" that caused him to miss a pay per view.
MY CLOSING THOUGHTS
:: Hey DDK, guess what buddy... I still don’t give a damn about you. Keep threatening me and see what happens. You’ll be the one who needs a “second chance” got it? I still remember you and Gibson getting rough with me a year ago, and I remember Adam ringing your neck and taking your title.
:: My favorite Youngster, Andrew Jacobsen has been knocked out of the tournament. He had a good run and continues to prove why he’s viewed as the future of this company.
:: Speaking of Jacobsen, I have no idea what’s going on between him and Zelda, but it seems like they are getting a lot closer. It’s cute seeing them together, but you can’t help but feel bad for Falcon, then again he doesn’t seem to be worried too much about it.
:: I told you to keep an eye on Ander Carvetti. Dude is about to make a huge push in this company, oh and those “Rat Pack” friends of his... they are pretty damn good too.
:: Stupid Doc and Venom... that match was looking so good.
:: Brad Kane is back, so I’m happy.
:: Should be interesting to see what Emma has to say about Zelda on commentary. I’m sure she’ll have some strong opinions on the princess.
:: I’ve got an itching to get back into the ring... be on the look out, I may make somebody book me this next week. -wink-
:: Until the debut of the X Championship, Ricky Johnson had held every NCW title but the World Championship. That’s an amazing feet. He is still very close to be a Grand Slam champion, he just has to win three more matches.
Well that’s it for me this week, make sure to come back next week, until next time....
