OPENING
Hello there NCW fans this Knitelife may not be my best effort in a few weeks as I’m feeling a bit under the weather so to speak today, but I’ll do my best to bring you the exciting text that is my Knitelife column. Wer’e coming off another exciting pay per view, and I just know you’re dying to see my opinions and thoughts on everything that went down at that show.
There seems like there is so much to talk about right now and so very little time, I have to get started and get to work on the meat of details soon or I may just fall asleep here at my keyboard. Everything from Breaking Away was amazing, so much going on, so much action and so many twists and turns, it was a show that put the previously named “Mind Games” to shame.
Anyway, lets get right to the poll results from last week, and it appears everybody was really looking forward to that Charlie Velez and Dave Holland world title match and well... they got one hell of a show and picked a winner because Velez versus Holland was awesome. Then again really there wasn’t really a wrong choice with the great matches this show had to offer, the second and third place finishers were excellent as well and very well could of been the top choice too and nobody would of complained.
This weeks poll will be different from my usual post pay per view polls, I’m not going to ask you what match you thought was the best, no, I’m instead going to focus on this huge match that everybody is preparing for right now, of course I speak of The RiOT match. You probably heard mention of it, it’s been on the back of everybody’s minds for the past two or three months, preparing and getting everything ready for this epic match that will span the entire roster. Everybody in the back is eagerly awaiting this match, so the poll here is... are you excited for the RiOT this year? Let us know how you feel, thrilled? Just “meh”? Well get up there and vote and let us know.
REVIEW
Breaking away was amazing to say the least, there were so many good matches that I hardly know where to begin. I’ll try and mention everything here, but if I forget something, I’m really sorry but on a show like this it’s just hard to keep up with every thought that’s shooting through your head and get them down.
The matches were great, we started the show with a string of title matches to really get the fans excitement levels built up and it worked to perfection, seeing two title changes and a third match that was highly contested and could of gone either way. Newborn pulled off the huge upset over Emma Danielson, which I totally called last week... not many people were giving Newborn a shot at winning that match but she came out and proved that she was the best Women’s wrestler in NCW that night. Hugo Conway came within a hair’s length of capturing the X title from Joe Ragnal, but in the end Ragnal remains the only person to ever hold the X Championship. Finally, in what could be considered another upset the upstart Rat Pack captured their first taste of NCW gold against that alliance of bitter rivals, Blood Ties. Three great matches to start off the show, and I think anybody would be hard pressed to find a pay per view opening that could ever top that. Those fans were on their feet.
We had for the next two matches a bit of a extremes, in one match we have a brutal anything goes cage match, and in the next we have the pure wrestling technical exhibition. Well that cage match sure didn’t go as I had planned.. that little twit wouldn’t stay down for nothing. Oh she just got lucky, I’ll get her next time.... I hope you guys enjoyed the match either way, it was fun.. I’m still sore and hurting but I think I proved that I can hang with the best of them inside that ring. The technical exhibition was like advertised a great display of wrestling between two friends who had no hard feelings towards each other. They were simply wrestling to put on a show and did so in a great contest. Probably one of the best matches of the night.
Now the last of our matches, the real meat of the show... National title tag team match was everything everybody expected. The Nightmare cage match was unbelievably brutal and was full of nonstop action and we saw an amazing upset when Andrew Jacobsen defeated Steve Awesome. That was one amazing victory for Jacobsen... are you kidding me? Beating the man who is porking your mom on pay per view, I was excited for the guy, good job to him. It was also very good to see a young hardworker like Chuck Moss string out a National title victory there, the guy has potential to be really good in the short future.
What kind of host would I be if I didn’t mention the main event.. Charlie and Holland proved again why they are in the top echelon of wrestlers in this company, why they are in this main event, because they wrestled the hell out of each other. The match was back and forth, it was non stop... and it’s a shame Velez had to try and resort to cheating a victory away. It just goes to show you how desperate that man is for this world title, how much that man craves this championship... he’s going to do anything to get it and you can see that.
The show was great, from top to bottom, it just never stopped. We crowned new champions, we saw great competitors retain and we saw a princess get the breath knocked out of her by her boyfriend. What more could you possibly want from this show? A.
THE FAB FIVE
5. Joe Ragnal :: He came into the show as the only X Champion in NCW history, he walked out of the show as the only X Champion in NCW history. Great victory and he continues to roll with that title.
4. Trish Newborn :: It was a huge upset to topple Emma Danielson for that Women’s title. She didn’t let Emma intimidate her and now, after not having a second women’s champion in the first eight months of this division, we’ve had three in the past 10 weeks.
3. Chuck Moss :: He was teaming with Falcon in the match, but it was whoever got the pinfall that walked out as the National champion and that’s what he did. Great victory for Chuck Moss here, he continues to keep climbing, he might be in the main event soon enough.
2. Dave Holland :: He had to face Velez in a rematch from their Road to the Gold finals match, he had to face a determined and motivated Velez, a Velez that was desperate for this, that could taste this.... and yet, he still walked out World champion. Great job.
1. Andrew Jacobsen :: Maybe a little odd choice? Yeah, I know but I didn’t want to go with the “all people who won title matches” option, I wanted to think outside the box. He had to watch his mother sex up Steve Awesome after he begged Steve to take her off the show, something like that should be a huge distraction, but not for young Jacobsen.
PREVIEW
As usual there are going to be a lot of great matches to tune in and see. The Webshow looks solid this week and the two main shows look phenomenal. We've got an empty arena match, a great tag team main event on trauma and on Collision there is going to be a rare Elimination style 6 man tag team match. We don't see many of those in NCW, so you'll want to check it out.
PREDICTIONS RECORD
Last Week’s Record:: 7-6:: Wow.. that’s just terrible. Just.. terrible. I can do way better than that, and I’m ashamed that is how my pay per view predictions for the year is going to end. Oh well.
Overall Record:: 287-161 :: Still over 125 up in the right column, so I guess that’s nothing to complain about and unless I totally tank I should make it to three hundred before the year is up and I have to start back at square one.
WEB SHOW
Singles Match
Shane Hunt vs. Todd Williams
:: Winner: Shane Hunt
Singles Match
Crystal Hilton vs. The Cat Lady
:: Winner: Cyrstal Hilton
Singles Match
Daniel S. Hunter vs. Jason Evans
:: Winner: Jason Evans
TRAUMA
Singles Match
Ander Carvetti vs. Joe Ragnal
:: This is going to be a fantastic match. Ander Carvetti is a newly crowned Tag Team champion and has been one of the fastest rising stars in NCW, now he takes on Joe Ragnal who has a strangle hold on that X Championship. A tough match to judge, but I have to give the slight edge to Ander.
Winner: Ander Carvetti
Singles Match
Hugo Conway vs. Freakke
:: Hugo fell just short of winning that X Championship at Breaking Away so this match is going to be a tough one for the former National champion. I will be siding with Freakke in this prediction, but you just watch that Hugo Conway, he can win win this match, especially if Freakke is caught off guard for a second.
Winner: Freakke
Three Way match
Gabriel Karras vs. Will Washington vs. Johnny Holliday
:: This is going to be a huge match for Trauma. All three of these men are great wrestlers, and all three show a lot of heart in the ring. Holliday is fresh off that tag team title win with Ander, after being off for a good three weeks due to injuries suffered at the hands of Alex Jones. I’m going to go out on a limb here and I’m thinking Gabriel Karras might be able to pull this one out.
Winner: Gabriel Karras
Tag Team Match
Stephanie Sullivan and Emma Danielson vs. Trish Newborn and Ayla St. James
:: Emma Danielson and Newborn, after their battle for he Women’s Championship at Breaking away, will be on opposite sides of the ring again for our Trauma main event, this time however in tag team action. We saw these two have a great match at the pay per view and it’s only going to be better with Ayla and the #1 contender Sullivan in the match as well. Newborn got Emma last time, I don’t think so does this time.
Winner: Sullivan and Danielson
COLLISION
Empty Arena Match
Lex Sense vs. Maniac
:: This match is technically going to take place before the show begins, before the fans enter the arena, and just be shown on the jumbotron during the show. I have no idea what this is about, but I can guarantee you that they are going to beat the hell out of each other like you wouldn’t believe. I give Maniac the edge because he wants some revenge on Sense stealing his title and because he’s effin crazy.
Winner: Maniac
3on1 Handicap Match
Falcon vs. Tempestad, Ricky Johnson and Homeless Harold
:: This match was made by Shannon Cole in reaction to Falcon’s punching Zelda, which was freaking awesome by the way. To punish him, he has to face three wrestlers at once and to make sure they are motivated in beating him down, they have a shot at the X Championship on the line. I don’t see how Falcon stands a chance here. It’s bull that he’s being punished for punching that little tramp, but whatever... This is going to be a beat down, it depends on who gets the pin and I’m going with Homeless Harold.
Winner: Homeless Harold.
Singles Match
Zelda Knite vs. Roxxxie
:: It’s her first match after getting decked by Falcon... should be interesting. I like Roxxxie and I think she’ll give Zelda a run, but in the end, Zelda wasn’t undefeated for six months because she doesn't know how to wrestle and win matches, I found that out first hand in that cage match.
Winner: Zelda Knite - Lock of the Week
Singles Match
Steve Awesome vs. Chuck Moss
:: The newly crowned National champion gets a very hard draw in his first match since winning the title. Steve Awesome is always a tough opponant, but Moss is coming off a title win and Steve is coming back from losing to Andrew Jacobsen in a huge upset . The question is will Moss be able to ride the momentum of that win to a victory or will Steven show him why he’s in the Hall of Fame? Tough question, but it’s always hard to vote against Steve, just don’t count out Moss.
Winner: Steve Awesome
Tag Team Match
Adam Knite and DDK vs. Jack Manson and Xavier Williams
:: The Pay Per View was supposed to showcase a brutal match between Jack Manson and Adam Knite... well it did... right up until it was unveiled that DDK has been in Adam’s corner this entire time. Bang!ing Jack Manson and Emma Danielson and holding Angel’s leg... it was all a well orchestrated little plot for these two and now they team against the man they’ve attacked and a former world champion. Xavier Williams is the wild card here, if he shows up in full force Manson and he will have a great chance of winning this, but that’s a big if.
Winner: Adam Knite and DDk
Singles Match
Brad Kane vs. Joe Everyman
:: I hate GD mothereffing Joe Everyman! Every damn time I pick his retarded ass he loses a match! Why do I continue to pick him!? Why do I continue to trust him to win matches that count the most!? I’m never believing in Joe Everyman again, he can go die in a GD fire for all I care. Kane kicks the ****e out of him.
Winner: Brad Kane
6 Man Elimination Tag Team Match
Jason Blair, Charlie Velez and Venom vs. Evan Andrews, Andrew Jacobsen, and Alex Jones
:: This is going to be on exciting match, you mark my words. 6 men in elimination style tag team action? Oh yeah, that’s going to be good, real good. The Young Guns are in everybody’s sights right now and for good reason... they fell short for their bid on the World title, but this won’t be the last you’ve heard of them, I promise you that. This match will be hard.. but in the end, I think the Guns pull this victory... they’ll find someway to screw a win out here.
Winner: Young Guns
WHAT TO KEEP AN EYE ON
:: Falcon :: He's got three men to beat, the odds are completely stacked against him simply because of what he did to Sidney at Breaking Away. It's a load of crap if you ask me, but if you ask me if there is any person on this roster that could overcome a three on one beating it would be Falcon. Keep an eye on him, it'll be interesting to see if he can overcome these odds.
:: Brad Kane vs. Joe Everyman :: Why? Because I hate Joe Everyman and every one of you should as well. He's worthless and he always loses on me whenever I start feeling like his time has finally come. Keep an eye on this match to watch Brad Kane cave Everyman's skull in. I'll be an amazing sight, I promise.
:: Main Event :: That's right, it's some 6 man elimination action goodness. The Young Guns taking on Andrew Jacobsen, Evan Andrews, and Alex Jones. This is going to be one great match, I can tell you that right now. These are six of the best wrestlers that NCW has to offer, and it's the debut of Jason Blair as a member of the Young Guns team, there will be a lot of action in this match and it won't be over until there is only one man left in the center of that ring. You will not want to miss that.
:: Trish Newborn :: We have a new Women's champion and in her first match after winning the title, not only will she have to wrestle the woman she just beat, she'll have to take on the #1 contender to her title as well... wow.. that's a lot to ask of her, but if she wants to prove that she's deserving of that title in the shadow of Zeldaberg, then she's gonna have to fight matches like this more than just a couple times.
THE KNITELINE
J.B., Kentucky
With the Rat Pack's win over Blood Ties, how does this affect the tag team division? Which team do you think is most likely to challenge the new champions first?
:: The tag team division looks pretty good right now. Blood Ties look like they're still around. Adam Knite and DDK are teaming up and Total Eclipse are coming off a hell of show at the pay per view. I think Total Eclipse looks like the team that is going to step up thought.
Joe from Colorado
Dear Kelly,
How was your Thanksgiving?
:: At least I didn't spend it in jail like Sidney. Oh and... shut up.
Patty O'Furniture
Somewhere in New York for the Thanksgiving weekend
Who's victory at Breaking Away do you think will gain the momentum needed to win the Riot Match? And is there a person who lost that you wish could have won instead?
:: I wish Joe Everyman would of won so he'd stop being such a worthless sack of crap, but I guess that's like asking the sky to stop being blue. I think Joe Ragnal is riding a nice wave of momentum right now, he'd be a pretty good bet in this RiOT match.
Al from Minnesota
How much does Joe Everyman not winning that match hurt him? I felt that this was his chance to prove that after all these years in NCW that he finally deserved to be high on the cards but he seems to have failed miserably.
:: It hurts him a lot. This was a huge chance for him and he blew it.
Randy from LA, CA
Bigger shot heard this last week, Light Saber to your head or first to Zelda's gut?
:: Fist to Sid's gut. Why? Because that was Falcon doing it, the man that supposedly loved her. I'm glad he finally saw things my way and decked her for what she did.
Name: gib
from: your mom's house
I hate these damn intarnet machines... What do you think I should do to falcon?
:: Give him a medal.
Rob from Oakland, California
How can anybody justify Falcon punching a woman? Young Guns attacked you and they're "monsters", Falcon punches his TEENAGE GIRLFRIEND and we're supposed to cheer for him?
:: Ok... all joking aside. It's a pretty crappy thing to do and I beg people watching at home not to follow in his foot steps. Especially with somebody like Zelda. I don't have to tell people her backstory, but yeah... him doing that, was possibly the worst thing anybody could ever do. Especially in here eyes. Then again.. she totally asked for it.
Hiedi Smith
Hi, Kelly, I'm a long time nCw fan and a very hot MILF to boot....is there anyway I can get on Awesome Love? I hear Steve like our kind these days.
:: I don't think so. But I can give you his number, i'm sure he'll enjoy that and I'd be happy to help.
Brad, New York
Who do you think would make a great addition to the Rat Pack?
:: Freakke the clown.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
:: Come on, who didn't enjoy seeing Sidney get clocked? I wish he would of punch her in the damn nose myself, that would have been hilarious. Furthermore, why is she freaking out about it? I slammed her head into a steel cage about fifteen times and “Any Given Moment”ed her off the top of a steel cage, just to have her laugh in my face... he punches her in the stomach and she acts like it was bullet.
:: I honestly had no idea Adam and DDK were forming some kind of team. I don't know how he managed to plan all that without me knowing. Impressive.
:: I do not think Charlie Velez is done chasing that world title. This is the entire reason that man wrestling right now, that belt is the only thing that keeps him going in that ring. He wants this so bad I can see it in his eyes, he'll do anything to get that title.
:: Joe Everyman effin sucks.
:: Does anybody else think that Andrew Jacobsen could be one of the biggest names in NCW if he would just find a way to be more consistent. That makes wins over Gib, Rob Diamond, Falcon and Steve Awesome this kid has... plus he managed to bag Sidney and be named sexiest man in the world... impressive.
:: Lastly I just want to say again how glad I am Kyle listened to me and decked that little loser for what she did to him. I'm calling this a victory for me.
:: Yes.. I know Andrew Jacobsen technically didn't beat Steve Awesome... instead beating three idiots... but I don't care.. totally counting it.
Well fans that's all for me tonight, I hope you enjoyed the column and until next time....
