OPENING
Welcome again my lovely fans, welcome to my Knitelife column that comes to you every Tuesday night, it is I, once again, Kelly Knite ready to bring you all the exciting news and action from this past week and a glimpse into what is shaking up in the future. We have a lot going on in the NCW world and no, I’m not only talking about the Falcon girl punching scandal, or the Steve Awesome cougar hunting phenomenon, there is plenty of other exciting news NCW this week and I’m here for you in case you missed it you poor fool.
First however, we’ve got some other things to talk about, namely our weekly poll that you fans have come to know and love, and I think even cry for at nights. The people demand polls and I’m here to give them to the masses. This past week I gave you fans a chance to let your excitement be known and tell us just how much you loved the idea of a RiOT 2 and you certainly did with an overwhelming victory for “Hell Yeah I’m excited” and you know what, that brings a smile to my face. It’s great that you fans are really looking forward to this, because if you weren’t there really is no reason to even put on a huge match such as this. You’re looking forward to it, we’re looking forward to bringing it to you and all is right in the world.
This week’s poll we’re going to do a specific poll over one of the big stories currently going down in NCW, we’re going to see what you think about Jason Jacobsen running down and challenging Steve Awesome. Do you think it was a wise move for the 50 year old man to stick his neck out like that? Do you think he is an idiot and shoudn’t worry about the woman cheating on him? What says you?
REVIEW
:: TRAUMA ::
Trauma was a solid show this past week, it didn’t seem to be anything that really stood out and said “hey look I’m Trauma and I’m awesome”, but it did enough to say “hey look I’m Trauma, watch me, you’ll like it.” And really, that’s what we’ve come to expect from our little “B-Show.” People aren’t feeling disrespected when they are put on there anymore, people are starting to look forward to Trauma, seeing it as a viable way to really make a name for themselves and that’s great.
However... to the action shall we? We had a great turnout this week and that excites me because these wrestlers are really fighting for it out there. Probably the best match of the night for me had to be the Hugo Conway and Freakke match, both men came out of the PPV losing title matches, and both are considered top rising talent in this company, they match was faced paced and in the end it was Hugo Conway coming away with a big time upset victory. That was the hightlight of the night for me, followed closely though by Gabriel Karras defeating Will Washington and Johnny Holliday in a three way match where he was considered a big underdog going into the week. With those matches, Trauma definitely delivered in the excitement factor this week, it’s good to see some members in this roster stepping up and delivering exciting performances.
Trauma was good, it was exciting and very solid. I’ll have to give it a nice C+ with a kind of disappointing main event.
:: COLLISION ::
Oh man... Collision started right off and came out smacking you in the face with the Young Guns screwing up Angel’s announcement and the gauntlet being laid for this week. There was so much going on with Collision this week it was great, and that doesn’t even include the fantastic matches that littered the card.
Can you believe we had an empty arena match, and furthermore can you believe what is going down between all these masked psycho paths?! That’s just crazy, they could tear NCW apart with all this fighting, but the fans are loving it and seem to really be reacting to it. However, that wasn’t the only shocking turn of events we saw on the show, I have to say... I never thought I’d see Jason Jacobsen walking to that ring and calling out an NCW hall of famer. My jaw dropped... Wow. I don’t know if the elder Jacobsen is crazy or just that brave but he’s going to get everything he could ever handle and more with Steve in a street fight. I feel for the man, but then again I saw first hand what a man is willing to go through for the woman he loves and I find it hard to blame him.
The meat of the show though, is always the matches and boy did we have some good ones.It looked like Collision was going to follow the Trauma upset train when Roxxxie had Sydney set up for the spear, but some mystery man at ringside grabbed her attention, it’s a shame because that would of been a huge win for her. We had of course the brutal empty arena match but in contrast of the violence in that match we also had Brad Kane squaring off against Joe Everyman in what could be considered one of the surprisingly best matches of the night, those two really took it to each other and put on a show for the fans. Then I can’t forget the main event... I hate that the Young Guns got a huge victory out there, I really do.. somebody needs to put those jerks in their place, and do it fast.
Well like I said, Collision was just fantastic this week, it’s hard to really think of any other words to describe it and really portray the emotion in that show. Some great action, well wrestled matches and entertaining developments all make for a very good Collision and a B+ grade from me.
THE FAB FIVE
5. Hugo Conway :: He might of came off a tough loss to Joe Ragnal at Breaking Away but it didn’t stop him, he came to that ring and he not only hung with a former National champion, he caught the Clown with his pants down and picked up a big victory.
4. Brad Kane :: Just for the pure fact that he beat the bane of my existence Joe Everyman. Thank you Brad Kane. Thank you.
3. Homeless Harold :: This is probably a bit too high for a guy who was on the three man team in that Falcon punishment match, but pinning Falcon and winning a shot at the X Championship in the same match is not something to take lightly.
2. Steve Awesome :: I hate to do this because I just hate giving Steven props lately, but he did beat the current National champion and hey... the guy is a good wrestler, and you don’t know how much it pains me to admit that.
1. Falcon :: Look at what this man is doing... and doing it without a single complaint. He is being put in ridiculous situations and he’s being put in matches that are nothing but blind beatings, yet here is coming out there and just... doing it. That is a gutsy fab performance if I say so myself.
PREVIEW
Last Week’s Record :: 11-3 :: I’m telling you people, there is nobody better than I am at this. I occasionally have a bad week, but I came through in the end and would like to point out... I again got every single Collision prediction right!
Overall Record:: 298-164 :: You see that!? Unless I just miss every single prediction from now to the end of the year, I’m going to reach 300! 300 right predictions! Come on, admit I’m awesome.
:: WEB SHOW ::
Singles Match
Osker Reyes VS. Hexx
Winner: Osker Reyes
Singles Match
Daniel S. Hunter VS. Shane Hunt
Winner: Shane Hunt
Singles Match
Chuck Moss VS. Andrew Jacobsen
Winner: Chuck Moss
Singles Match
Ayla St. James vs. Crystal Hilton
Winner: Ayla St. James
:: TRAUMA ::
Singles Match
Emma Danielson VS. Roxxxie
:: Before last week I would say Roxxxie stood no chance here, but the way she came out and handled Zelda, the way she took the best women’s wrestler NCW has had to the wire like that, then I think Roxxxie is going to make this close, but in the end... it won’t be enough again.
Winner: Emma Danielson
Singles Match
Hugo Conway VS. Xavier Williams
:: In back to back weeks Hugo gets a former National champion and former World champion, can he work his magic two weeks in a row and bring down the former champion? It’s going to be hard but coming off a win against Freakke he just might have the confidence to do it. In the end though... and I hate to do it, but Xavier Williams is really.
Winner: Xavier Williams
Tag Team Match
Zelda Knite and Freya Kane vs. Trish Newborn and Stephanie Sullivan
:: It’s the first appearance of the “Gamer Girls” in NCW, the tag team of Sydney and Freya. Normally I just pick Zelda to win, since that’s just the smart thing to do, this week though it’s going to be tough with Freya returning from a miscarriage and taking on the World champion and the #1 contender... tough choice.
Winner: Sydney and Freya... barely.
Main Event: Tag Team Match
Maniac/Gabriel Karras VS. Homeless Harold/Joe Ragnal
:: A freakish tag team matchup. Maniac and Karras hate each other and Homeless Harold has his sights on that X Championship in his partner’s possession. This is pretty much a toss up since it’s going to come down to which team can resemble a team the longest.
Winner: Maniac and Karras
:: COLLISION ::
Singles Match
Ricky Johnson VS. Tempestad
:: I love this matchup, I love their styles together inside the ring and I think this is going to be a huge match for the opening of Collision. In the end I give the advantage to Ricky Johnson, don’t ask me why, I think it’s just because I’ve seen him win so many matches like this in this career here.
Winner: Ricky Johnson
Singles Match
Todd Williams VS. Ander Carvetti
:: Todd Williams comes off a disappointing loss on the Web Show this past week while Ander is coming off a huge win against the X Champion. It’s going to be a tale of who wants it more, who is going to be more willing to go all out for the win. I think Todd Williams does a good job of impressing people with his in-ring abilities in this one and comes back with the win.
Winner: Todd Williams - Upset of the Week
Street Fight
Jason Jacobsen vs. Steve Awesome
:: I can’t believe a fifty year old man has challenged one of NCW’s most dangerous wrestlers to a street fight... a Street fight! The man has obviously taken way too many chair shots during the course of his career... but... he’s doing it for a good cause, even though I’d just dump that hoe if I were him..... either way... he doesn’t stand a chance.
Winner: Steve Awesome - Lock of the Week
Handicap Tag Team Tables Match
Falcon VS. Joe Everyman/Lex Sense
:: Gib has ordered ANOTHER punishment match for Falcon, getting in on the parade I guess. Last week it was Shannon Cole issuing the match because of her crazy women’s rights activism, but now it’s Zelda’s father issuing the match. This might be an easier week for the bird, and call me crazy but I think he finds a way to win this, if anybody can it’s Falcon.
Winner: Falcon
Singles Match
Freakke VS. Jason Evans
:: Freakke has to rebound from his loss this past week if he wants to stay in the title talks around here. He has a lot riding on this I think, probably more than he realizes. I think the clown will take this one just because I don’t have much trust in Jason Evans stepping up his game like Hugo did.
Winner: Freakke
Tag Team Match
Total Eclipse VS. Adam Knite/DDK
:: This is going to be the match of the night, my man Adam Knite getting a shot to win yet another tag team title against the Total Eclipse team. Brad Kane and Evan Andrews are no slouches and it’d be stupid to overlook them but I know Adam and I know what he’s capable of as a wrestler... and he has DDK who I have not a single clue what he’s going to do but still...
Winner: Adam Knite and DDK
Main Event:
Dave Holland/Alex Jones/Angel VS. Charlie Velez/Venom/Jason Blair
:: Talk about huge matches, talk about main events... this is one if I’ve ever seen one! The Young Guns against this new group of wrestlers, the World champion and Charlie Velez in the ring together again.... it’s going to be fantastic fans, there are no questions about that.
Winner: Dave, Alex and Angel
WHAT TO KEEP AN EYE ON
:: Roxxxie :: She has tobe kicking herself after letting Sydney off the hook by losing her focus, she had the perfect opportunity to bring her down and it just slipped away because of that mystery man, whoever that is. This could be a sign that Roxxxie is ready to take a step up the ladder, a win will do that... especially against another former World champion.
:: Jason Jacobsen vs. Steve Awesome :: I don’t think I really have to mention this, but it’s a fifty year old man fighting the man who slept with his wife.... in a street fight. There will be no rules when these two square off and I don’t know how long it’s been since Jason Jaocbsen was inside a wrestling ring, but however long it’s been, it’s been a lot longer than Steve Awesome. It’s going to be interesting to see how Jacobsen approaches this and what kind of shape he’ll be in for this fight.
:: Hugo Conway :: Last week he got a former National champion and he surprised the world and pulled out a huge win in surprising fashion... after that I don’t think Xavier Williams is going to take him lightly, he’s going to be fully prepared for anything Hugo can throw at him. That’s why this is going to be a must watch to see how Hugo responds to his win last week and to people who are now viewing him as a threat.
:: Main Event :: It’s the Young Guns taking on the group determined to kill them, it’s the World champion against the main who challenged him at Breaking Away for the belt. There are so many ways to spin this match and make it seem awesome. This will be one of those matches you’ll regret missing for a long time to come if you do.
KNITELINE
INTERVIEW
Alright, this week we had some technical difficulties with our Kniteline call in centers... where the douchebag over it apparently forgot to pay some bill or something, I don't know... thanks Keybo, but since that happened I felt bad that we had like no Kniteline questions, therefore I got in touch with somebody and this week the Kniteline is going to be a special segment, it's going to be a transcript of an interview with a member of the NCW Roster! Isn't that awesome!? I know right. Anway, I had a few people in mind to be the first ever Kniteline guest, and I thought who better to bring on here than the person in the midst of one of NCW's biggest storys right now... Andrew Jacobsen.
Now first, I'd like to say thank you for the time Andrew, I'm glad you found some free time for this on such a short notice I'm really sorry about that and I really appreciate you talking with me. Any words you want to say to all my Kniteline readers before we get this started?
:: No problem. Always good to be here. Thanks for supporting nCw, guys. Oh, and the Gun Show needs to get cancelled.
I kind of like the flattery of having somebody imitating me so closely, and we all know who has the best segment ever in NCW so I say let him do his thing and keep making a fool out of himself... ha ha.
Alright, lets get to it shall we, Back to the subject at hand, but before I get to the question everybody Is going to expect me to ask, I want to get your thoughts of the Riot this year. If memory serves me well, you had a great showing last year as a rookie, you entered early and lasted a long time, that was the night you turned a lot of heads in this company. What are you thinking this year?
:: Yeah, it was awesome. There's a reason I keep bringing it up when tools like Charlie Velez challenge me for credentials. As for this year, I'm looking forward to it. I think I can do it this year. I've had the chance to feel it out for all the real keys to survival. Plus, no Lance Ryan this year. That guy was my freaking Kryptonite in those battle royals, I tell you.
Oh you wouldn't believe how many people over the years have said the very thing about Lance Ryan, he's one of the biggest names this company has ever had. So speaking of that, with working alongside Lance Ryan for a while like you did, do you think you picked up on a few tricks that might help you along the way this year? Maybe a little of that veteran savvy rubbed off on you? How about somebody other than Lance Ryan, anybody out there who might have given a bit of a lesson to the younger generation that you want to talk about?
:: Well, I got a lot of help from the guys in the Revolution. Adam, Brad, Will...even that one guy...all helped me work on my pacing in the ring. Plus, getting the chance to go after the Young Guns was good. They're excellent in the ring, despite their personalities, and I don't get why they cheat. Of those guys, though...I think I got the most out of wrestling Doc that second time. I'd like to think I was the last guy to get a really good match out of him in nCw. He pushed me farther than I've ever gone before, and it was just cool to see the Boyhood Dream shine one last time.
You certainly did, it was a great match and a huge victory for you, I was very proud of you that night, it wasn't an easy task beating an opponent like that.
Now.. it's time for the big one and I'm sorry if this is a touchy subject, but you know my readers aren't going to let me live it down if I didn't try and ask it... what's going on with your mom and Steve Awesome? I mean, a situation like that has to be horrible to just think about and I can't imagine what you're going through. How do you really feel about this whole thing?
:: *sigh* Yeah...Steve's sleeping with her. I don't doubt that. Mom's always been a party girl. And despite how Steve reacts, she's not bad-looking. I mean, Dad had ring rats swarming over him and he chose her. That has to mean something. It's just...Steve Awesome is the most petty person in this company. I'm sorry if I sound a bit incoherent, I'm just having a hard time really verbalizing how I feel without it sounding stupid.
Oh, I don't blame you at all Andrew, this is a tough time I'm sure, you're thoughts have to be running a mile a minute and I imagine it can't help things when now your father has decided to step in and take matters into his own hands.
Like I said earlier in my column, I was sort of in a similar predicament once and I saw first hand what Steve is willing to do to keep something he wants, and I saw first hand what a man was willing to do to stop him. What do you think about your father stepping into the ring, unannounced and challenged Steve Awesome to a fight?
:: Dad can handle himself. I would have preferred if he stayed at home 'cause I don't want to see him get hurt...but if the big guy wants to take a shot at him, he can do it. I think Steve could be fatally underestimating Dad. He's a big guy, and fifty or not, he's still pretty powerful. In the end, I guess I feel...nervous, but confident at the same time. Does that make sense to you, Kelly?
It makes a lot of sense to me actually, sometimes people just have to stand up and fight. That's what I learned from my ordeal with Steve.
Now we're winding down here so I'm going to ask you some short QandA style questions, that if I continue to do this I'm going to try and ask all my interviewees.... a few behind the scene questions here.
Other than yourself who is your favorite wrestler in NCW? Is there anybody that you enjoy seeing wrestle when you're not paired with them?
:: I'm gonna say...probably Brad Kane and Joe Ragnal, in that order.
What has been your favorite moment in NCW thus far, it can include an accomplishment of yours and be a personal question, just what moment has meant the most to you?
:: Me. Rob Diamond. X-Division Title. November 27th. Collision. That's all I have to say.
Is there anybody on the roster that you're really looking forward to working with in the future?
:: Hm. Probably Dave Holland.
If there were one thing that you could change about NCW, what would it be?
:: That is a hell of a question there, Kelly. Let me see...uhh, I'd get my mom out of here? Barring that, I'd say...I have no idea. I really can't say anything. nCw's pretty awesome the way it is.
Thank you for the praise Andrew and finally to end the QandA... how would you grade your own time here in NCW compared to the rest of your career on a scale from 1-10, and please details for your answer if you don’t mind.
:: 7. I've done a lot, but I feel like I've missed a lot of opportunities. Between the Riot, the Coliseum, and my title runs, I could have done a lot more in the last year.
Great answers and thanks again for being here with me Andrew, and I just have one final question... well more like a request.. if you don’t mind, please tell all these people, especially Falcon that I’m not a liar! Come on, give us the Vegas dirt.... Everybody wants to know.
:: No comment.
Ahhh come on! You’re just going to torture them then huh? Ha ha, well played... keep them wondering, but for the record... to everybody reading, I’m so not lying here. Anyway Andrew... Thanks again and it was a pleasure.
:: Again, no problem.
FROM THE FANS
Dave T. Zombie K-Town PA
What recent events would you have not seen coming a year ago?
:: Never thought I'd see a man's dad running down to the ring and challenging Steve Awesome to a fight. I never thought I'd see Zelda acting the way she is, and I never thought Brad Kane would be an NCW world champion.
Patty O'Furniture
Dublin, Ireland
Is Gib secretly Adam Knite's father as well?
:: No. Adam is almost ten years older than Zelda... Gib's affair with Adam's mom would of had to have lasted for almost a decade for that to happen. Use your head.
El Gringo Loco
Tamaulipas, Mexico
Who are your early favorites to win the Riot match? Also, will we see Andrew try to sleep with Steve Awesome's mom to get back at him?
:: I think early on the favorites have to be either Steve Awesome, Falcon, or Rob Diamond. You can also throw Venom in there as well. It seems like these are the men who want this the most.
George from Alaska,
What feud that's started up recently do you think can steal light this month and possibly catapulting someone new to the top?
:: I'm looking at this thing between Andrew Jacobsen and Steve and I just keep thinking that this could be great for the young Jacobsen's career. Everybody thought he was going to shoot off like a canon after he beat Rob Diamond, then he sort of slowed down after that, this is a chance to gain all that momentum back.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
:: I still think this Falcon punishment thing is going too far. It isn’t like he gave her a black eye or anything.
:: I have no idea what to think about Maniac and Homeless Harold. That’s scary... so scary.
:: What is up with all the Gun Show talk on my column? I’d again like to point out that this is written text and the Gun Show is an actual promo.... huge difference.
:: I hope Steve Awesome really doesn’t break Jason Jacobsen’s hip.
:: I swear to God, I’m not lying about the Sydney and Jacobsen thing... I wish he would of just said “yes”
:: What is it about Golden Grahams cereal that I find so awesome? I could eat that stuff all day.
:: I know who the mystery man in the RiOT match is... HA HA!
Well fans, that’s all I’ve got for you this week. I hope you enjoyed this special version of Knitelife and leave me some good feedback on the official NCW website. Until next time...
