Well.....after much influence by many people....well only Sense really.....I've decided to make a thread called Steve Recommends....
What is that you say?
Well it basically is what it says on the tin. It's a thread where I recommend stuff for you, the reader of said thread, to check out if you ever get the opportunity. It can be movies, TV shows, music, and anything else I might come across in my life that I think others might enjoy. Anyways, first out the gate.....
The film "Maverick"
This movie stars Mel Gibson (before he went crazy and started hating jews) as a con artist cowboy named "Brett Maverick". His main goal in this movie is to get enough money to be able to buy in to the big poker tournament. It also has Jodie Foster atrocious jawline playing Miss Barnsworth (I believe), a conniving women who seems to be at odds with Maverick throughout the entire movie, or is that sexual tension? Who knows.
Anywho, I really dug this movie because it was funny. Not slap stick or blatantly funny, but the parts that have humor in them are really underlined by Mel Gibson and his great timing as an actor. There are some good fight scenes and the old west scenery is beautiful as the case usually is for most period pieces. Also....the cinematography is pretty awesome. The shots they get, and the way they frame up other shots really add to everything about the movie.
Unfortunately, I was not able to see the end of the movie, but I will eventually. May even pick this up and add it to my collection. Anywho, check out this short clip of a bank robbery.
