::We open up outside the large gates of a graveyard. A cold winter wind whistles through the gate as the faint sound of a car is heard approaching. The car engine ceases and the door opens. Jack Manson steps out the car, slamming the door shut behind him. His long smart, black coat trailers behind him in the wind as the coldness bites at his skin. He walks past the gravestones scattered along the sides of the footpath, glancing slightly at the names and dates of the men, women, and children laid to rest here. His head is bowed out of respect, and out of knowledge that death is inevitable for everyone.
He strays from the footpath and walks over to a freshly carved headstone. He stops in front of it and just stands there, staring. The flowers in his hand fight against the wind that’s picked up slightly. Minutes pass. He finally kneels down in front of the headrest.::
“I don’t even know where to begin. You were taken from us far too soon my friend. Heh, I always said you should stop your crazy lifestyle before it caught up with you.”
::He cracks a wry smile, but it vanishes almost as quickly as it appeared.::
“It still hurts. Knowing you’re gone now. You were my guide, my shining light. Now I’m alone. And I don’t know what to do anymore. My world is turning upside down, I’ve got **** goin down left, right and centre. I need you here to help me control it, and to also make it up to you for being such a let down in the past. You had faith in my talents, my ability. And you never let me forget it. I was never able to reach that potential you saw though. And for that I’m sorry.
I’m sorry that our last ride didn’t go quite as I had planned it. I’m a coward. I let you down. I let everyone down by bailing. And you know what? I don’t even have an excuse for it. I felt like my fire had burnt out before even having a chance to grow again. At least when I had you by my side I was able to face these things head on. And now I’m alone.”
::Manson is knelt down in front of a grave stone. The sun shines dimly in the sky above. He takes off his sunglasses an wipes a tear from his eye. Engraved in stone are the words “Here lies Tony Samuel Jackson. Gone but never forgotton 1949-2012”. He puts a bunch of flowers down onto the green grass and stands up, taking a deep breath in::
“You were a father to me Tony. I’m thankful for everything you taught me, every chance you gave me, for being a true friend and mentor. It’s only my deepest regret that it’s taken your untimely death to make me realise what I’ve gotta do now. Your spirit will live on through me, you will continue to guide me and spur me on. Together we will finish what we started so long ago. It’ll be a journey fraught with highs and lows, I expect that. I’m sure there’ll be many questions that need answering. Why? When? Where?”
::He puts his glasses back on, and heads off towards his car, hands in his pockets and shoulders hunched up, keeping warm against the winter wind::
“I know you’ll all have gotten wind of this by now. My return so to speak. Many of you won’t care. “Oh big deal, yet another brief return to stroke his ego in the fans warmth and make people think he’s here for good”. Yeah, I know what’ll be said. People can say what they want about me. I’m not doing this for you, or the fans. I’m doing it for one man’s last dying wish, and to prove to myself that I can. And whether that means starting at the bottom and working my back up then bring it on.
I’m coming to shake things up, turn a few heads, and grab some headlines. And it won’t always be for the right reasons.
Forget everything you thought you knew about me nCw. The beast inside simply cannot, and will not, be laid to rest.
The reaper is coming, for all of you”
::The scene fades as Manson walks past the camera::
