Spike TV Season 1 Episode 4: Metamorphosis
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So you the people seem to think that Kelly Knite should choose the option than Roberto Verona has offered her, the people have spoken but the thing is, will Kelly listen? Well, you'll have to stay tuned to find out.
It's finally time for Metamorphosis and whether you are watching the show on your own, with some friends, on your TV, on your computer, or even on the go.....you are in for one hell of a night. The matches that the guys out back have arranged for your viewing pleasure are some of the best yet, and finally.....somebody gets to shut Todd's mouth!
Three Way Number 1 Contenders for the Starlet's Title
Ayla st. James vs. Amy Marshall vs. Kathy Conway – The Main Events seriously are living up to their name recently, and unlike me for the first time I've picked a Starlet's match for this slot. It's no secret that I'm none too fond of the division, but these three ladies put on a masterclass last week, and so they should have with a shot at Kelly Knite's world title in the balance. In the end it was Ayla who picked up a much deserved win, but you cannot count out the performances of both Amy and Kathy. Well done ladies.
Joe Everyman Vs Xander Famularo– Two weeks in a row Joe Everyman lands in this spot, gaining himself a bit of a reputation. It didn't help that Xander simply destroyed the guy. Don't get me wrong, it's not a nock on Xander or his ability, just that at this stage of both mens careers, this kind of match shouldn't be happening........and seriously, Todd.....grow some balls.
Mike Laszlo is building up a nice little legacy completely under the radar.
Two main events that delivered some awesome entertainment, once again.
Andrew Jacobsen fighting against the odds and showing why so many people higher up in the company have taken such a shine to him.
Crystal Hilton took the time out to talk to me like a person......trust me, I think she might be sick or something.
Xander Famularo rolls into Metamorphosis with the momentum swinging his way on victories alone.
Joe Everyman. Come on Joe.....I always had faith in you.
The Internationals, god dammit, will you just give up and go home already!?
The Ace trying to manipulate and cause more problems just leading to an overly annoying and confusing match at Metamorphosis.....come on Nate, kick his ass.
My version of the fab five. The five people who stood out this last week.
5: TODD WILLIAMS: Yeah, I don't like him. He's a walking talking encyclopedia of racist cliches, but he's fighting for the World Title and he's shown week after week that he isn't scared of Xander, but now Todd? It's time to put up or shut up.
4: THE INTERNATIONALS: No matter what I say or do these chaps just keep on coming, and it seems with most of the tag team competition falling apart ever since my brother and I stopped.....they have gone from strength to strength and proving they deserve those titles. They're still dicks though.
3: AMY MARSHALL/KATHY CONWAY Now I know these two lost their match on Collision, but they both deserve recognition for the consistantly high level of work they put in each week. They were a hairs breath away from a title shot, and it just slipped out of their fingers, but it looks like Metamorphosis has something in store for both of them.
2: XANDER FAMULARO Firmly rooted into second place right now, the nCw World Champion is steam rolling into Metamorphosis, the annoying nat that is Todd Williams doing everything he can to throw Xander off his game, it just doesn't seem to work.
1: AYLA ST. JAMES: Two weeks in a row, this chicka is on her way to a Starlets World Title match at Metamorphosis with momentum firmly on her side. Let's hope she can keep it up, good luck Ayla.
(Note: Draws of any kind do not count either way)
Q. How does it feel to finally become the World Champion and be regarded as the best in the company?
Well, I won’t lie. It feels pretty damn good. There has always been a shadow over my career, a shadow that was cast by my father, a man who is regarded to some as one of the best every to lace up a pair of boots. I feel, finally, that I have broken out of that shadow and that people realize that I am not the son of Gib, that I am Xander a man that has now done more in nCw then he ever did.
Q. Given your fathers success did you ever feel the pressure to excel might be too much?
Wow, that question, of course I did. I felt that right away I should be on the biggest stage of them all. I put on a little mascara, I wore a sullen face and showed up in my first wrestling run talking about how horrible the world is, and how life sucks and how I am better then my father. Anyone who watched nCw when I was 18 can attest to the fact that I pretty much sucked. I bounced, refusing to take second billing because of who I was. I was in main events as a rookie and I frequently had the crap pounded out of me. It took a lot of wrong turns to find my own path. But I found it.
Q. Last year was pretty much the "Year of the Xander" do you know what you might have install for us this year?
More of the same, I am not sure people realize this, but I have not lost a singles match since A Night to Remember when I lost to then juggernaut Rob Diamond. But the key here is consistency, I work hard every week. I don’t get caught up in the bull**** that everyone else does. I am not here for any other reason to win matches. And that is what I do. January is over, and guess what. I am undefeated this year, wrestling every week. That tells you what is in store for nCw next year.
Q. With regards to the Hierarchy, do you worry that people might get confused between what is real and what is part of the storyline?
It is funny, the whole hierarchy situation. People want to paint us as villains, especially Verona. But what have we done? We removed Leonard Fox from power, we aren’t running around attacking people, we aren’t starting stable wars. We came in as a transitionary piece, that was our only true goal. My father, unbeknownst to him played his role perfectly and Kelly, she is the one that needs to be in charge, not Leonard. Before everyone talks **** about Hierarchy, they need to realize we are the very best of the past, present and future of wrestling, hell, my father might be out in the world right now creating another super wrestler for our organization right now as we speak. We are here for tyrannical rule, we are simply a family that is going to make sure people have the chances they deserve, and if you think corruption runs through us, look at the new stars getting shots. The proof is in the pudding.
Q. Todd has been impressive as of late, and you are due to fight him for the title on Sunday. Do you still see Todd as a threat? Or do you see him as more of a plaything?
I see every superstar as a threat, but Toddykins doesn’t scare me. He talks a big game, he can scream and come up with taglines like the best of them and sure, he won a Riot match. A match that you are better off running from an opponent then engaging them. I pinned Todd twice in January, and the third time is coming. This time, he won’t be able to blame his partners or whine about shenanigans. I am quite simply going to make an example out of Todd. I will make an example out of him for all the other stars that are growing the cajones to face me, and all the other men who think it is cool to put their hands on a woman. I mean, come on, this dude wants to put his older sister in a locked tower. That is some freaky incest **** there man.
Q. Who was the toughest challenge you have ever faced in nCw?
Obviously, the match I didn’t win. Rob Diamond challenged me, and defeated me. It was a crushing blow, but my mind wasn’t on wrestling at the time. It was that day that reignited my passion and the day that I said I will not allow my destiny to be determined by someone else. The other great challenge I had was Roberto Verona, he is a tough son of a bitch.
Q. Who did you never get to work a real schedule with that you would like to?
Maybe Alex Jones, he is a seasoned veteran of nCw, and I wouldn’t mind showing him a thing or two about the up and comers.
Q. How would you grade your time in nCw?
Since I took my mask off, I have been nothing short of an A+. Before that, well, I don’t want to talk about it.
Q. How would you grade your time in all of wrestling?
C, I had to make a thousand wrong choices before I got it right. By the end of my career though, they will have to create a new letter.
Word Association:
Adam Knite.
The trainer of champions.
Todd Williams.
About to get a reality check
Cheeky son of a....well, it's a fact. One I'm not too pleased with, but a fact. Regardless, thank you for joining us Xander. Good luck on Sunday.
Anytime Spikey.
It's pay per view week guys. Time to lay it all on the line and reach for that next level, be it climing the ladder, earning a title shot, winning a title, or just defending one. Give it your best, and trust me the world will notice.
I may have predicted both world champions to defend, but like most people, I don't mind being wrong, as long as it's entertaining.
A big thank you once again to Xander Famularo for taking time out of his busy schedule to be with us this week, and I'll see you back here next week for the post ppv version, of Spike TV!
