Fade in.
A young male reporter in a suit and round glasses stands in front of the camera.
Wesley Mann:
Hello ladies and gentleman, I’m Wesley Mann- -here for yet another edition of New Championship Wrestling’s: The Powerplant, your source for all of NCW’s new and up and coming talent. Today we will be taking a look at a man who has single handedly changed the face of the underground wrestling circuit. After wrestling in various different promotions and honing his skills, he stepped into Hardcore Championship Wrestling in southern Texas and walked away the HCW World Heavyweight Champion in his first match! After that, he moved on to destroy many different territories in southern California and later in his hometown of New York City in World Class Championship Wrestling, until vacating the world title belt when he received a contract offer from Vince McMahon and World Wrestling Entertainment.

Wesley Mann:
Welcome to…THE POWERPLANT!
Credits role.
When we re-open, a tall and physically impressive individual with short blonde hair, wearing black athletic shorts, Irish whips a man into the ropes. On the rebound, the man is dropped by a flipping dropkick to the face.
Ghost (Voice Over):
Since 13 years old, it was my dream to wrestle.
We cut to Ghost practicing one of his trademark moves, The Set Up (a full nelson suplex with release). He pulls it off flawlessly.
Trainer (Off Screen):
Whoa! Are you kidding me? That was not to the best of your ability. You- -
Audio fades as the Trainer continues to discipline Ghost.
Ghost (V.O.):
And now I’m living the dream.
We now cut to Ghost sitting on the Powerplant gym mats, now wearing a silver body armor athletic shirt- -a half smile on his face. Punching bags sway in the background.
Ghost:
I couldn’t ask for anything else. I’ve never been happier in my life doing something.
We cut to Ghost sitting in front of a black backdrop in a black button up dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up. His eyebrow and ear rings are now back in.
Ghost:
I can remember as far back as sixth grade and watching Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon and just being awestruck by the physical side of pro wrestling. It wasn’t until The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin that I was able to gain a respect for the performance side of things also. I mean, these guys would cut a promo and you would just think- -
Opens eyes wide and shakes his head for a moment.
Ghost
Wow. These guy’s are really gonna’ kick the s!*t out of each other.
Ghost smiles and lets out a quite laugh.
We cut to a picture of a younger ghost, flexing for the camera with his shirt off.
Ghost (V.O.):
I started, weight lifting first, probably when I was a freshmen in high school. I bulked up really quick. I was always the big kid so I never really got picked on in school.
We cut back to Ghost in front of the backdrop.
Ghost:
I got along with everyone even though, I never played sports, never was extremely popular or anything like that. All I cared about was professional wrestling.
He smiles then adjusts in his seat.
Ghost:
Umm, then when I was 19, a friend of mine- -named AJ Styles who I met backstage at local shows that would come through New York, he was just getting started at the time, pulled me aside one day and said “Hey, you’re a big guy, you ever think about going into wrestling?” and of course, I was working security at the time trying to save up for wrestling school so I just really wanted to get into wrestling any possible way I could. So I said, “Yo, it’s my dream to wrestle!”
He begins to look excited.
Ghost:
You know? “What do you have in mind?” I asked him. So he said, “Well, why don’t you come back here tomorrow and before we set up tomorrow’s show, we’ll toss you around the ring a little bit and see how you fair.” I think he could sense my excitement and how green I was, so he started to smile a bit. And, of course, I said yes. So to make a long story short, I went in the next day and just, loved it. Immediately. Even though- -
Grimaces a bit.
Ghost:
They beat the hell out of me.
Laughs.
Ghost:
They tossed me around and piledrove and suplexed and put me in holds to no end but I just kept getting up.
We see a picture of Ghost and AJ Styles standing side by side.
Ghost:
More or less, what happened after that, AJ offered for me to come on the road with him and the boys that were training me and have me be part of the ring crew and after I was done setting up, we’d train until about an hour before show time.
Cut to an old video montage of Ghost wrestling.
Ghost (V.O.):
After I got my start, continued on the road for a while. Then I decided it was my time to move elsewhere. Bounced around for a while. Started getting synonymous with the fans and wrestling underground. And then one day I got a phone call from a regional promotion in southern Texas called Hardcore Championship Wrestling. They were well established in Texas. Sold out every show.
Cut to highlights of Ghost’s HCW World Title match.
Ghost (V.O.):
Came in, first match- -fought the World Champion “Piercing” Paul Peterson, pinned him 1-2-3, the crowd went freakin’ wild.
Cut to Ghost pinning the champ and the crowd erupting.
Ghost (V.O.):
Stayed champion there for about six months then I bounced around in a couple different southern California promotions until I came back home to wrestle for World Class. After I’d been there for five months, that’s when I got the call from Vince McMahon.
Fade.
Re-open with Ghost in front of the backdrop.
Ghost:
There’s, a lot of different reasons why I left the WWE and decided it would be better to come here. None of it really had anything to do with Vince or the backstage personal, the main factor in all of this was real simple though, New Championship Wrestling is: the new breed, the younger more vibrant crowd and out of all the obvious reasons, the wrestling here is more exciting which is why it is hands down- -the best of the established companies in all of wrestling. No doubt.
We cut to Ghost standing in a doorway, leaning with his forearms pressed on a pull up bar posted in the middle, the sunny parking lot behind him. He’s wearing black spy sunglasses, a gray ‘Gold’s Gym’ t-shirt with the sleeves cut off and blue jeans. He speaks very convincingly.
Ghost:
There’s no secret that I’m coming to New Championship Wrestling to be on top, because that’s where I’ve always been and there’s no reason to let anyone knock me down. We all have to pay our dues of course, but I will one day be NCW World Heavyweight Champion, and that’s a fact. That’s what I’m here for.
He now stands in the ring, leaned against the turnbuckles. His sunglasses have been removed.
Ghost:
NCW came to my attention when I saw their first pay per view, Road to the Gold. In that pay per view, one match stood out to me above the rest, the bout for the National Championship. Now, don’t get me wrong, the whole pay per view was superb, but there was one thing in that match that made me want to come to the NCW. Something that drove me to believe that- -
He brushes off the turnbuckles.
Ghost:
If I came here, there was a match that could entertain the people into standing ovations. An event- -that could start riots! An event, that could so easily become a dynasty within National Championship Wrestling. And that “thing”…is Jack Manson. You see, Manson, you are a superb wrestler…but when it comes down to it, I’m better.
He begins to “talk with his hands”.
Ghost:
You walk out to that ring night after night with that National Title slung over your shoulder, plaguing me with a burning question every time I see you. You see, there’s, two sides to your story…isn’t there Manson? There’s two- -
Shows two fingers on his right hand.
Ghost:
NCW National Champion’s. There’s Jack Manson!
Begins to showboat with his hands.
Ghost:
Often imitated, never duplicated! The pretty face of NCW, the NCW National, Champion! Kissing babies and wooing ladies!
Lowers his voice and gets closer to the camera.
Ghost:
Then…there’s the Maniac. You see, I know all about your little bump on the head Jackie. It sent you into something much deeper and more dark than anything you’d known before. And when you came out, there were two. The question is Manson…the burning question that I need to know, and only you can help me answer- -which one of you, is champion? If I were to face you, whom would I get? Manson…or the Maniac?
Backs away from the camera and returns his voice to normal.
Ghost:
You know, when I think about it- -even if I do still puzzle that question out of sheer amusement, something comes to my realization…it wouldn’t matter which one of you I faced. It wouldn’t matter Manson, because whomever you bring to the ring is gonna’ get their ass ate up! It may not be tonight…it may not be tomorrow, a week from now or even a year! But Manson, you should show what you’re made of. Make the people and I believe that you are truly a “Maniac” and step into the ring with the best all around wrestler in the world today!
Point’s to himself and nods.
Ghost:
And if you wanna’ show something even more important- -step into that ring with me and show that your not just a maniac, but a man, and bring that National Championship with you, because the bottom line is this…everyone’s saying it…everyone’s talkin’ about it. All the hype! All the excitement! The man, the myth…the legend is coming to NCW.
Spreads both arms in a showboat manner.
Ghost:
Yours truly.
Puts down his arms.
Ghost:
The climb to the top is painful Manson…but the fall, hurts much, much worse.
Fade.
Reopen with Wesley Mann standing in NCW’s broadcast HQ. Highlights from ‘Road to the Gold’ flicker on monitors in the background.
Wesley Mann:
And the fall does hurt much, much worse. So what will happen from here? His rise to glory has been amazing but the question on the tip of everyone’s tongue; how will the next chapter of this youngster’s career unfold? At only 23 years of age, Ghost has come to stake his claim in NCW, and take no prisoners. I see the NCW getting much, much more interesting. From NCW’s headquarters, I’m Wesley Mann. Join us next week for another addition of, the Powerplant!
Credits.
