________________________________ Random Thoughts:
What happened to Kansas City in their 9-6 home loss to Baltimore just sickens me. If you watched the game, you may have seen that vicious hit Ravens defenders Haloti Ngata and Pernell McPhee put on Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassell. The reaction by the fans was the highlight of that play as some -- not all -- of their home crowd CHEERED when he got injured. Yes, that's right, CHEERED.
Sure, Cassell himself hasn't give anything for Chiefs fans to cheer about - he leads the NFL in turnovers with nine INTs - , but what happened Sunday is inexcusable by their fan base. This is a front page story, and it got even more interesting after Chiefs offensive tackle Eric Winston lashed out at those fans in a postgame interview, which is already turning a lot of heads.
Nonetheless, Brady Quinn - remember him - gets the nod for KC for Sunday's game at Tampa, as it is highly unlikely Cassell will play due to the concussion. Tampa hasn't been much better either, standing at 1-3, and are dead last in passing yards allowed per game, yielding about 345 yards through the air each week. If Jamaal Charles can spark the running game and Quinn can prove to be capable of jump starting KC's stagnant offense, maybe the change at center will be a good thing - still doesn't excuse the fans for their behavior, though.
The Chiefs are off next week before welcoming the visiting Raiders on 10/25.
Atlanta and Houston survived in their respective games to remain the NFL's only unbeaten teams. Question is, which will be the first to fall this Sunday? The Falcons play Oakland; the Texans host Green Bay. I say both are safe this week. While the Falcons are off next week, the Texans will play at Baltimore; While the Texans are off in Week 8, Atlanta travels to Philadelphia to take on Mike Vick and the Eagles.
The Niners get revenge for last year's playoff upset to the New York Giants this Sunday in a game that will likely earn top-billing. Both teams got all too-easy victories last week over the Bills and Brows, respectively, so it'll be interesting to see which of these playoff teams will strike first. Which brings up the question: Can lightning strike twice for the G-Men, or will San. Fran get their revenge?

Vargas, the way I see it they weren't cheering that he got hurt. They were cheering because Brady Quinn was on the field.

At this point, Jeff, it's debateable. Though, I don't think you can find fault in Winston's comments. He was really ticked off. Still, your argument does sound convincing. Fans do some crazy things sometimes (cheering for refs, for one), but for them to cheer for someone like Brady Quinn, who hasn't made much of his career since being drafted as a 2007 first round pick, sounds even more odd than cheering for an injured player.
