{Immediately upon the opening of the scene, we see Seth Evans doing nothing out of the ordinary... Sitting on his couch, Xbox 360 controller in hand, headset on, playing Halo 4. His elbows are resting on his knees as he just stares forward at the screen, concentrating on what's happening in front of him.}
"Coming up our main lift, one of them has the sticky detonator."
{With the few words from Seth, we watch the screen as he and his teammates are backing themselves into a corner but all four of them placing great shots on the two in front of them... When, all of a sudden...}
"One coming across the lift, the last one's coming from the attic!"
{One person focuses their fire on the attic to keep the enemy pinned down, as Seth and his other two teammates turn towards the lift where the enemy is coming across and each one of put shots on them before turning to assist with the attic, but the fourth guy is backing down.}
"Don't chase him, we'll push forward through the left hall."
{Checking each of their corners on the way, the four members of the team start heading down the hallway where their main lift is, before one guy starts shooting in the very front. Hearing something from the headset, Seth responds.}
"I got you, I got you! Back up!"
{The two pull a switch, and Seth, with his fresh shields, is taking all of the shots for his teammate while they all manage to take down the one guy that tried to cut them off.}
ONE KILL TO WIN.
{Says the announcer on the video-game, and with a lot of gunfire going on in the game as the other team tries desperately to take down the team of four, they fail, as the teamwork of Seth's team proves to be unstoppable. The final score was 600-210.}
"Good game, guys. Good game."
{Seth finally takes the headset off of his head and places it on the coffee table in front of him before backing out of the lobby and exiting the game. A grin on his face, feeling satisfied over the dominant victory. The scene fades.}
Teamwork.
There's something about it that truly... makes me happy. By the words of a wise man; it divides the effort and multiplies the effect. That's how I see it, that's why I love it! I know that there are a lot of people that enjoy being that lone ranger. The one who's going to carry the weight of the world on his or her shoulders --- they're going to save the day --- I've never really liked those stories. Something about them, to me, was just so unrealistic.
How are you going to tell me that a single man walked into an enemy camp, and single-handedly killed every single bad guy inside? It's not going to happen. I don't believe it's going to happen.
I'm more interested in those tales about the GROUP, the SQUAD that steps into combat and they work as a team... using communication... relying on each other. Having each others backs. And accomplishing their goal because they worked together. It makes for a more believable story, and I feel that it makes an individual go from looking good, to looking great!
That's the opportunity that I have this week.
I have the chance to step into the ring to face off against Todd Williams, and --- do I dare believe it? --- Spike Kane! One of New Championship Wrestling's very own legends, a former World Champion... one of the men that I have looked up to when I was just training to step into the ring for the very first time. And to top everything off; I spoke very highly of him as my opponent last week, and I'm going to speak just as highly of him as my partner this week!
Joe Everyman!
I meant what I said, Joe. You are one of my favorite people to be inside the ring with, and I do find it to be an absolute honor to have you as my partner. The former three time National Champion, the future Hall of Famer, the man that never quits and never says never. The one... and only... Joe... Everyman. I'm not like every other singles wrestler that steps in with a team. You see, I appreciate you as my partner --- I'm not going to come onto this camera and tell you bull**** about how you need to carry your weight, or how you need to just stay out of my way.
Get in my way.
Make your presence known.
I'm not a one man army.
I don't want to be.
Just get in that ring, Joe... that's all I ask... is that you get into the ring and you have my back. You get in that ring, and you be ready to scratch, kick, crawl, do whatever it takes to see to it that we walk out with that win. All I ask is that you bring that attitude that I love about you; that "never quit" attitude.
When they knock you down...
You force yourself back up.
And I'll help you up.
When they knock me down.
I'll prove my resilience.
But I would sure appreciate it if you would also help me back up.
Can we do that, Joe? Can you give me your word that you will help me back up, should I fall? Because I'm giving you mine. I'm giving you my word that I'm going to leave everything in that ring to make sure you and I walk out with the win, that we have our arms raised in the air and the announcer will announce us as the winners of the match against Spike Kane and Todd Williams.
Bring everything you got.
We're going to need it.
Our opponents are two great opponents. Like I've said, this week we are going to be facing off against one of my idols growing up --- Spike Kane. I remember seeing him hold up World title after World title after World title, wherever he went. He was a champion. He was main event caliber. When the day came that he signed his contract with nCw, nothing changed about him. He became the World Champion. He became the main event. He has been through some of the most dangerous matches that this industry has ever known, been stabbed, almost killed and he still lives to fight another day! He still steps into the ring.
Much like it's an honor to be stepping into the ring with Joe Everyman as my partner, it's an honor and a privilege to be stepping into the ring with you standing against me.
But don't get me wrong...
I'm not going to be awestruck just because I'm facing the legendary Spike Kane. I'm not going to be the deer in the headlights. I'm going to be one of the two people standing across the ring from you, and one that's willing to get right in your face --- and knock you down.
Don't think that I've forgotten about you, Todd. A former World Champion as well. A man who won the riot this year --- the night that I got injured --- all I can really ask is that if I hadn't gotten hurt, would it be the same story? We'll never know, so I'm truly not even going to question it.
There's one reality.
One truth.
Two men who have never held the World Championship ANYWHERE are stepping into the ring with two former World Champions... and to top it off; I, personally, have gained the least amount from anybody! All of you have something spectacular by your name, and while I am proud of my short time as the X-Division Champion, what does it really matter to what all of you have carried?
Nothing.
This week, I have the most to gain.
As a member of a team.
And as an individual.
Three weeks in a row. Count them out --- I started off against a man who had hype, a man who everyone thought I couldn't beat. Josh Stevens. And I managed to beat him. I took on my partner this week, Joe Everyman. The former three time National Champion, and the man who gave Angel a run for his money in a World Championship match --- and I beat him.
Week three.
Spike Kane.
Todd Williams.
I've proven that I can stand my ground and win against people that no one thought I could beat... This week is not going to be any different. I'm going to march my happy ass down to that ring on Trauma, and I'm going to make sure that when you both leave that ring.
Whether you win.
Whether you lose.
My name is going to stick with you. You're going to remember that Seth Evans is on his way to the top, and he, like you, is going to become a World Heavyweight Champion!
Come at me.
