I know what you're thinking
We were going down
I can feel the sinking
But then I came around
We were going down
I can feel the sinking
But then I came around
AC Douglas. The man I underestimated last week. And, the man who seems to be stuck in the past. Every single thing you said about Davey and I last week has been old news for some time now. Haven't you been paying attention? Davey and I have been winning all over the place. Since we became a tag team, we have only two losses under our belt, compared to three wins. That's successful if I've ever seen it. We're above five hundred, and it feels good. It's something we haven't felt in a while. And we plan on keeping it that way. We have turned over a new leaf. And if you refuse to accept that, then you will be left where all of our old sakes are too... in the past.
The scene slowly opens up inside of the Joe Everyman locker room. Melanie is sitting on the couch with Aurora, both patiently waiting for Joe to finish his training regiment.
Aurora Everyman: Is daddy almost done? I'm hungry.
Melanie Brooks: I am too. But, if my calculations are correct, he'll be back shortly.
After a few moments, the door swings open, and in walks... Davey Ortega, in the finest suit, but his arm in a sling.
Melanie Brooks: Oh... hey Davey.
Davey Ortega: Mel.
Davey tips his imaginary hat.
Davey Ortega: Is Joe not back yet?
Melanie Brooks: Not yet. We're going to lunch when he gets back, and...
Davey Ortega: Oh I know, that's what I'm here for.
Melanie Brooks: Oh...
Davey Ortega: You don't like me much, do you?
Melanie Brooks: I'm getting there.
Davey Ortega: That's all I ask.
After a few moments of awkward silence, Joe walks into the room and sees them all before him.
Joe Everyman: Hey guys, hey Davey. How's the arm treating you?
Davey Ortega: Eh... it'll get better here soon. Just need a few more weeks on it.
Joe Everyman: Good. We need you in tip-top shape if we're going after those championships again.
Davey Ortega: I will be, I guarantee it.
Joe Everyman: Great. And, how's the hotel coming along?
Davey Ortega: Hotel?
Joe Everyman: Yeah... remember, you said you missed dinner last week cause you were overseeing it?
Davey Ortega: You mean my casino?
Joe Everyman: Yeah! That! ...isn't it a hotel too.
Davey Ortega: You hush.
Joe Everyman: Ha ha, alright. I'm gonna go shower, then we can all head out. I'll just be a minute, ok?
Joe walks over to the couch and kisses Melanie before talking into the bathroom area. Davey then makes a spot for himself on the couch next to Aurora.
Davey Ortega: This is going to be an awkward few minutes, isn't it?
Melanie Brooks: I do believe so, yes.
Aurora Everyman: Can I touch your arm?!
Davey Ortega: I would rather you didn't. It's very sore and will cause me a lot of pain.
Aurora Everyman: But... please?!
Davey Ortega: Oh... alright.
Aurora then pokes Davey's non-hurt arm and giggles after it.
Davey Ortega: Clever girl you got there. And another on the way, right?
Melanie Brooks: That's right.
Davey Ortega: Joe said he would name it after me if it's a boy.
Melanie Brooks: He what?!?
Davey chuckles as Melanie steams for a second.
Davey Ortega: I'm merely joking. Just trying to relieve the tension.
Suddenly, Davey gets a phone call and stands up to answer his phone.
Davey Ortega: Hello? Preston? What is it?
Melanie looks on, confused for a moment.
Davey Ortega: No no no! Hold on, I'll handle this.
He lowers the phone for a second.
Davey Ortega: Excuse me for a moment.
Davey then walks out of the room and starts angrily replying into his phone as the door swings shut.
Melanie Brooks: I'll try to get along with him soon... after all, it's for Joe.
Then scene then slowly fades to black.
I know that I'm going to have a better showing against you this week, Douglas. Last week, I let a lot of things slide, but that won't happen this week. I have to keep this momentum going, and I can't let a rookie runt like you keep me down. And I know I won't, because I can already see into the future. I've been in this business for far too long to do anything else. I can see that we have more than just this one match ahead of us. We'll face off again, with Todd and Davey back in the ring as well. And when that happens, we'll show you our full might as a tag team. Davey and I both know that last week, the only reason we lost is because of an injury. If that wouldn't have happened, we wouldn't be having this discussion right now. But, regardless... that's how the pieces fell, and here we are.
I can't, however, control the future. I wish I could, but I can't. But, I can predict it with the best of them. I know there will come a time soon where we will fight for a shot at the gold. And I promise you, you and Todd will not win it. Davey and I's revolution is just too damn strong to let a couple pipsqueaks like you win. Davey and I have been around the block a few times. We know what to expect, and we know what we have to do to win. You and Todd... combined, you don't have the same amount of skill as I do in one foot. Hell, Davey's injured arm is stronger than the two of you. We will soon have our chance to prove this to you and to everyone. But instead, we have to stop because you and Todd injured Davey last week. He's going to be coming for your heads here, soon enough. But in the mean time, I'll do what I do best. Come out and win.
Our revolution has already swept through nCw, causing new teams to form up, seemingly out of no where. We're happy about this, but we need even more. We need the satisfaction of fruition. We need the nCw Tag Team Championships. Gib and Simon's win last time was a *** damn fluke, anybody could have seen that. And this next time around, they won't be so lucky. Do you hear me, Gib? Simon? Your reign is coming to a close. I promise you, the next time we are in the ring, you two will fall. Davey and I will walk out of that arena with the gold around our waists. I believe in our cause, and soon, everybody will have no choice but to join. They will finally see the potential that Ortega and myself have. We saw it a long time ago, and now, we are finally bringing it out. Then, when we finally do capture the Tag Team titles, we'll go on our own run, so long and so fruitful, that nobody will remember the name Team America. This revolution will continue, and there's not a damn thing you can do to stop it.
And everyone I've loved before
Flashed before my eyes
And nothing mattered anymore
I looked into the sky
Flashed before my eyes
And nothing mattered anymore
I looked into the sky
