The scene slowly fades in from black, as "Captain Howdy" by Twisted Sister begins to play. We find ourselves looking out at an absolute blizzard, which is burying the Northeast section of the United States. Standing by that window, is the woman we have come to know as Nadia Snow-Jacobs, the wife of James Jacobs whom we know better as Captain Howdy. She is holding a cordless phone against her ear, and as the music fades a bit, we can hear at least her side of the conversation.
NADIA SNOW: I'm glad you got in safely, hon. The storm here is amazing. It was a good idea for you to go ahead and leave a bit early to make sure you got there.
He's fine. He's actually asleep at the moment. I'll definitely give him a kiss for you when he gets up.
Oh believe me, we're not going anywhere. The fridge is full, we've got plenty of firewood and the generator is fueled just in case. We'll be fine.
James, don't be so worried. Jimmy and I are safe, and Tom is here along with Amanda. Everything is fine.
Yeah, it's probably already about six inches out there. It's coming down really hard, and it doesn't look like it's going to stop anytime soon. If this keeps up, we're going to have the makings of a huge snow fort, or sledding hill.
I know, it's not entirely fair that you can't be here. I just hope you can get home when you were planning to. I have a feeling the airports around here won't be open anytime soon either. But, like I said, even if you can't we're fine.
So how are things there? Nice hotel?
That sounds nice. We'll have to go there together sometime.
So how are you feeling? I mean, I know how upset you were after losing last week.
James, you know as well as anyone does that sometimes a guy just has your number. You've done that to plenty of wrestlers over the years. At some point, you'll figure James Warren out, and then this will be forgotten.
You're right, he's very good. That's what I mean. Just let it go, because you can't change it. If you keep holding onto it, you're going to have another bad time this week.
Yeah, I did look into Jack Hammond a bit. He's a bit of a joker, but he's been here in NCW a couple times now, and seems to have been fairly successful. I didn't really get a chance to watch a lot of his matches or anything, but he's an interesting one.
No, I think you can beat him. After all, you're every bit as good as anyone else here. You've just had a run of tough luck.
That's really all I think it is. I mean, everyone has a slump from time to time, and you did take some time off when the last place closed down.
Really, I do mean that. You're still a great wrestler. The matches you've lost haven't been anything that you got destroyed in. You either made a mistake, or just got caught out of the ring. It happens, and it will turn around.
James, I'm telling you, you need to let this whole thing go, and get your confidence back. You ARE a great wrestler. You're just hitting a rough patch right now, and when it turns around, you'll be right back on top again.
It doesn't matter what Hammond does in this match, James. All you have to do is wrestle to your strengths, and you can win. Get a hold of him, attack a limb, and then just make him scream. Force him to tap out. That always raised your spirits.
Of course. I'm just saying that making him tap out would probably do more for your confidence than just dropping him on his head.
Exactly. So just get in the ring, and show the world exactly what it is that you can do.
No, Red Dragon hasn't been here. To be honest, I sort of agree with him. Just let that evil side of you out and see what happens. You've been too nice in a lot of your matches. That killer instinct that you always had has been missing. Bring that back, and I think you'll be better off.
Ok James, I know you need to get some sleep. Good luck in your match, and just go kick his ass.
Love you too. Take care, and get some rest.
Nadia hangs up the phone, and hangs her head for a few moments. Then, she looks up, and toward the camera, but more at the person holding it.
Tom, he's going to be fine, right? I mean, I've never seen him have a bad stretch like this before. Maybe I shouldn't have talked him into going back.
VOICE: He'll be fine, Nadia. He's too tough and too good not to be.
NADIA: I hope you're right, Tom. I really do.
Nadia turns away again, and walks off into another part of the house, and the scene slowly fades to black.
