(Finding a secluded spot near the bus stop, a baseball cap drawn over her brunette hair while wearing a heavy parka and shivering from the unnerving cold, Mercedes Vargas waits for the usual 34 that came at the 9:00 hour.)
There are few things that are worse than losing. There are few things that are worse than losing to the same opponent. There are few things that are worst losing to the same opponent twice. There are few things that are worse than submitting to the same opponent twice.
Don't laugh.
That all happened to me last week.
(She covers her face in shame. The loss to Rose Acantha was something she did not expect, an upset, if you will. Nonetheless, upsets seems to be happening to her a lot more often these last few weeks. With a sigh, Mercedes looks up again at the camera.)
Well, Michelle. Here we are again. Just another random Starlets match on Trauma. After a while they start to feel the same. I beat you, it means nothing. You beat me, it does nothing to further your career, except that it adds another defeat to my record. But at least you got booked again this week, at least you notched another victory, you build a little momentum on your ongoing mission to get another shot at the Starlets Championship that's everyone's after though I'm surprised that you're one of the very few that's shown any interest, considering that Jennifer hasn't shown much interest as far as challengers and parading the title like she did something remarkable or something. With her membership in Jake's soirée, it's probable that she'll try to hold on to the title for as long as she can with their help.
Now, I'm no mind reader, but if you're about to say what I think you're about to say then I'm not far off. If you're going to tell me that I'm a homewrecker, whore, slut, skank...Yeah, don't do that. Everyone knows that the whole mess with Jake Conway turned out to be an epic fail in more ways than one and that I'm pretty much living in my own personal hell because of it. If you're going to tell me that I haven't achieved anything as of late, please save your breath. I've made it further than any other Starlet in last year's Starlets Road to the Gold and unlike you, I beat Zelda in the middle of the ring. Don't care how it happened, don't care if she got screwed by her sister-in-law, the record counts that as a loss to the Pixelated Princess. If you're going to look past me, don't try and make the same mistake again. Because as of our previous meetings – you haven't beaten me yet. Sure they were both tag team matches, and you were never pinned, but I managed to hold my own.
Let's face it, 2013 has to be the worst year I've had since I debuted in NCW two years ago. I've had only one win in five matches so far and it's certainly something I'm not readily to admit nor am I happy about. But make no mistake about it, Michelle. I'm not some newcomer. I'm not Addisyn Starr or Cynthia Warren. You know that I'm going into our match tonight and keep up with you from the opening bell until the very end. Competition makes me stronger...and I like to think I play to my strengths.
(The bus arrives as it screeches to a halt and Mercedes waits for the doors to open as she steps inside. The bus then departs and our scene fades.
