We open to see El Dragon de Valor working out at a gym. He checks over his shoulder to see the camera.
Dragon: Ah, it's about that time, eh?
Dragon walks away from the punching bag and Kesuke runs over and towels him off.
Dragon: Thank you friend. So it is that I have another challenge this week. Some would say a big challenge, in the returning Spike Kane. A man who has done literally everything. A man I know well. It is good to see him back. Of course, with the end approaching, a lot of people have come back. A lot of people are looking for that final shot at glory, or that final shot at redemption. Now, I came back for redemption before the news fell on all our ears, and I'm not here for redemption because this place is closing. I am here for redemption because I did wrong. I know I did wrong, and I live with that heartache every day. I am trying to restore my legacy and that of my tag team partners, but also just restore the people's faith in wrestling. I ruined everything with my demons and I will forever be sorry.
Dragon lowers his head. Kesuke hands him a bottled water, he takes a swig and then looks back at the camera.
Dragon: But I had to start somewhere. I had to get back up from the bottom, because I am too damn good to be stuck at the bottom. Don't get me wrong, I deserved to be there, I know that, and I accept that. I've taken my licks, I've gotten myself clean, I've worked my ass off just to get back on TV. Last week, I had a hell of a match with Lockwood and Ishimaru. Ishimaru, I'm sorry you got injured my friend, but you gave it your all and you have nothing to be ashamed of, I wish you a speedy recovery. But it was fast paced and really got my adrenaline going, and I ended up winning. A great boost to my moral. A great way to be on the right track. But I know not to rest easy after one victory. I've been scratching and clawing my way up and I'm not about to stop.
Dragon drinks a little more water. Kesuke hands him a protein bar and he takes a bite. After a few chews and a swallow, he wipes his mouth and starts walking.
Dragon: I've heard Spike and I'm glad he's back. I'm glad I get a chance to face him again, because he is a fantastic wrestler. Confident as hell, as he should be. But sometimes a bit clueless. I've seen his scars, I've seen his marks. I have quite a few of my own. He can test me all he wants, but he must not realize, I'm being tested every damn day. Every show, every match is a test. This job that I love, this profession is in my veins. But it also reminds me every day of my follies. It reminds me every day the sweet taste of alcohol. I have to stay away from the catering, because there's always some sort of beer on tap. I have to stay away from the crazy nightlife after a show. It's tough. But it's doable. It's what I must do. It's okay though, because my legacy is worth it. The Internationals legacy is worth it. I'm fighting an uphill battle, I know this. I will go out there and face Spike Kane and try to overcome him with every ounce of my being. That's how I'm wired, that's what I do. I've been through hell already, and there is no way I'm going back. I am always tested, every waking minute, and I will not fail again.
Dragon jumps onto an eliptical and keeps working out. The scene fades.
