Well here we are, going into the fifth week of Rate The Wrestler, last week the first Triple Crown winner in the history of TNA AJ Styles tried to shoot to the top, and after a missed Spiral Tap, found his way into last place with a 74.
This week, is nCw Tag Team Champion Adam Knite's pick for this weeks Rate The Wrestler, His pick was a man who I wished could of wrestled Ric Flair in his last match, but regardless the two have had several matches in the past, as well as the last match in the Real History of WCW. Today Rate The Wrestler is A Former WCW and TNA World Heavyweight Champion, the man who may of been the biggest thing leading up to the birth of Austin 3:16...He is The Icon Sting!
Also, if you since John Anthony didn't select a wrestler for next week, We will be going to a poll, Since today wrestler was apart of the huge nWo v. WCW War Angle from 1996-1998, We will vote from people who had some kind of importances in that.
WEEKLY RATINGS
Bret Hart ~ 90 CM Punk ~ 88 Diamond Dallas Page ~ 76 A.J Styles - 74

I give Sting a flat 8!
Its showtime!
Sting will forever be known as an Icon. There's just no other way around it you know? I mean he is very skillful in the ring, granted he'll never win a best technician award but for going as long as he has he has developed a style all his own.
Not to mention that pretty much EVERYBODY knows who Sting is. Even the non wrestling fan, I'm sure if I threw his name out there they'd at least have herd of him. The guy is always over no matter what.
He just has a cool gimmick as well and I like how it has developed over the ages. And he knows how to talk on the mic. The only other man that can get away with saying "Woooo!".
Dream match? Sting vs Undertaker! I'd mark out like a little bitch for that match and I dont care who knows it.
Ps: This should have been my 400th post so...yeah! throw a party!

A solid 9. Even in his old age, he can be pretty damn entertaining.

Gives Sting a 9. He has been and always will be on of the best and one of the few who was a mainstay for the NWA/WCW and never went to the WWF/E.

3.5.
Look at his abillity. Now, clean the puke from your chin and listen. Sting is a "brawler" that can't brawl. He's a legend with a crappy legacy. I honestly hate him, he should've retired long ago. I'm sick of his crappy performances. Everybody carries him in matches, and it's like carrying an 800 pound gorilla.
My pick: Shawn Michaels!

WOOOOOOOO: Ric Flair
Face Paint: The Crow
Sharpshooter: Bret Hart
The Reverse DDT is a joke.

WTF are you talking about Evil?
Sting used the "Scorpion Death Lock" before Bret Hart stole it. Bret Hart learned the move from Konnan. (He says it on his DVD) In fact, Hart stole Sting's ring jacket too.
Sting gets a 8.5
Wrestling 7/10: Sting was not the brawler that Reckoning overanalyzed earlier. Sting could wrestle when called upon, but come on, Would anyone rather see Steve Austin in his heyday beating people with the million dollar dream instead of the stunner? Sometimes being a brawler works better.
Mic Skills: 6/10: Sting never said anything really memorable in his promos, besides the "free agent" promo, and "The only thing for sure about Sting...is nothing's for sure."
Selling skills: 8/10:

Anywhoo...
Sting gets a 7.5
Wrestling 7/10: Sting was not the "horrible brawler" that Reckoning overanalyzed earlier. Sting could wrestle when called upon, but come on, Would anyone rather see Steve Austin during his big push beating people with the million dollar dream instead of the stunner? Sometimes being a brawler works better.
Mic Skills: 6/10: Sting never said anything really memorable in his promos, besides the "free agent" promo, and "The only thing for sure about Sting...is nothing's for sure." A catchprhase does not count as a promo. What? I said a catchprhase...never mind.
Selling skills: 8/10: Ugh. sometimes he was bad. When he wrestled goldberg for the first time, and hogan kicked him, with a random stomp, Sting sold it as if he was hit with a chair or something. Most of the time Sting has been able to sell attacks much better.
Overall Charisma: 10/10: Sting's a larger than life character. His year long silence and unclear support of WCW or the nWo during those days, not wrestling at ALL, and STILL being a draw, is clear cut evidence of his charisma.
We all fed into Sting/Hogan at Starcade but of course WCW ****ed it up.

8.5 I was never a huge Sting fan. But he is damn entertaining, in and out of the ring. I'd pay to see him wrestle almost anybody. And no matter who he feuds with it's always pretty cool.

9/10 Evil I am with Johnson on this one Bret did indeed steal the Sharpshooter and the Jacket from Sting. I dont know how old everyone else is, but i remember Sting even back when he was surfer sting and to say that he was not technically sound back then is a bit of a farce. IMO Sting is one of the wrestlers that has always been able to evolve with the business. When the business started to turn towards more gimmicks we had the Crow Sting and I think that that was one of the best gimmicks and angles of all time. I agree, watching a guy not speak for so long and still anticipating his arrival and his every move tells you something about him.
Sting in my books is quite easily the best wrestler to never be under WWE contract and will go down as one of the all time greats. Not to mention his willingness when he came to TNA to put over new talent (something they havent used enough IMO, and something very few legends are willing to do).
There is my two cents.

7 - Sting in his WCW Days was great, the whole standing on the rafters armed with a black baseball bat when the lights died down and his dark sombre music began to play always used to get me amped, but obviously I've always prefered dark characters in general, not to mention his even earlier days of brighter face paint. Although I'm glad he didn't sign with We Waste Everrything, TNA hasn't done him any favours either in my opinion. Still Sting is probably responsible for planting the seed of being such an Undertaker fan these days, I consider both men legends but I do not nor ever will agree with Leo's view as he stated earler. Just what till we get to JackHammer's pick...lol

I aint a huge fan of Sting. But I aint someone who can say I didn't watch him in the WCW days from before he put on the Crow paint till it folded. I didn't watch every match, no. I didn't watch every PPV, no. I only watched PPV's and WCW when I was at my Great Grandma's, which when I was age 2-13, was enough to keep current and get in a few PPV's. He's got technical skills, yes. He's got in ring workmanship, yeah. He's as over as the chance of us seeing Osama get killed or Bush taking us outta Iraq.
I give him an 8. He's a legend, but there's a good chance he, like others like HBK, Taker, etc are trying to keep their careers going when they are past their prime and age is catching up to them. I'm sorry, but I don't wanna see HBK coming out to the Sexy Boy theme when he's balding and in his mid 40's...he aint sexy no more...least not to any women I know.

you'd be surprised dp...just log onto the wwe chatrooms n see all the female hbk fans flock...still they're outnumbered by cena fans, but still the point stands...

Of course he's outnumbered....with the new America past time being...getting knocked up and having kids...Cena will have his audience (2-13 year olds) for a long time.
