There are always thoses rumors
And we always get the same answer
The guy who made Final Fantasy always say, he has no interest in it
Squaresoft always says...If there interest in it...Then who knows.
That the same answer we have heard, since the PS2 came out.

Wow...
Are you telling me you actually have a problem with, what almost the general FF populace believes, the best RPG?

One...I didn't say it wasn't a great game...because it is...
It's nowhere near as great as everyone says it is.
And....your statement proves something...
Are you telling me you actually have a problem with, what almost the general FF populace believes, the best RPG?
See the problem with your statement...Only FF fans think it's the best RPG game...luckily for you, I have no argument other then that, as I'm not a RPG fan.

I am an FF fan and will defend 7..so I guess I am biased.
Though I am not limited..but I have to say 7 is with out a doubt the best story I have ever came across in the RPG world

Final Fantasy 7 was the reinvention of the franchise. It gave us a story that was gritty and unclean. The world was not perfect. You didn't have a clear cut "this is the bad guy" because everyone had their own personality and their own agenda. That's what made it great.
Is it the best FF? It might be, but that depends on what you like. Of course, all the people who think Cloud is a Super Bad Ass will defend it based on the strength of the character. Myself, I believe X had a better story, followed by VI, then VII. But that's just me.
But the best story in an RPG? Tie between Final Fantasy Tactics and Chrono Trigger.
Just my opinion iz allz..

Best. Game. Ever.
Don't listen to Trent, I remember when he first played the game, he knew everything that was going to happen before he started. You go into any game that is primarily story driven, knowing what is going to happen, and the game will always come out looking worse than it was.

X? X? are you ****ing crazy? X made me want to throw my tv out the window it was such a bullcrap story...argh...next you'll say X-" redefined gaming or something.
Ahem, sorry bout that.
The game that has engrossed me the most SINGLE PLAYER is Final Fantasy VII, best RPG ever and close to that comes Fable in my opinion. Davey, they re-made the opening FMV from 7 to show off the piss3's capabilities and since then people have been up in arms about them remaking it. Short answer...no. Long answer...nooooo.
However 12 was a bit better than the lacklustre x and x-2, 11 as disgraceful but thats another tale...so 13 is looking rather upbeat.
But Fable 2 will own everything when it comes out anywho.

Whoa... are we forgetting FF 1, FF2, and FF3, all games which I own via NES and GBA roms. And seven, IMO was good, considering future ones were bad.
FF8 had as meh hero FF9 I passed FFX was a transition into the PS2 FF XI *vomits* FF XII.. Finally, FINALLY changed from a turn based game into a real time game. (Best FF, in my eyes, since it was different fromt he rest, and the fact that it is more faster than past games, made it better in my eyes)
We can go ahead and toss in, FF: CC, FF; DoC, and FF VII: CC into the suck pile.

I don't know how to describe it... I don't hate it... but I don't really love it either... I guess "meh" works. 10, it just really depends if you get the story behind it or not. The battle system is good and it looks great, but it takes so long for the game to finally tell you what's going on.

Yeah, I knew Sephiroth lost in the end, that's all I knew...I'm not saying FFVII was the worst game ever, because like I said, it's a good game....maybe if that Giant Snake didn't own me all the time, I would of like it better... I mean seriously...I WAS TIRED OF THAT MOTHER****ING HUGE SNAKE In THE MOTHER****ING SWAMP. But I stand by my statement, I think it's a good game, but not the best game, you can take my statement with a grain of salt, I'm not going to argue to you fanboys, I'm atleast saying it's a pretty good damn game.

I actually enjoyed 9 a lot. You should give it a try. I personally don't understand why it's looked down upon so much... the battles are fun and the story is well done. Ad.. I agree with you completely. IX is a very enjoyable game in my opinion. But at the same time I can understand why it's looked down on and the reason is.. the villains. Villain 1) Kuja... seriously.. look at him and tell me he's not gay... I dare you. He's just.. not quite right. But then that's ok.. because there are bigger fish to fry. Villain 2) Necron. The guy came out of nowhere, literally nowhere. Most bad guys that come out of nowhere are at least hinted at throughout the game, that way they're validated when it shows what you missed and the big revelation moment comes together. Necron.. nothing. Personally I'd have liked Garland to be the main bad guy... that would've been better. And Xav.. take FF2 and toss that in the crud pile too. I can't comment on the story of it or anything like that purely because the levelling system is so bad that I really couldn't stand to play the damn game for more than 3 minutes. Plus the whole "oops, I stepped one square from the path I was meant to be on.. oh look.. monsters 50 levels above me... oh look I'm dead."

Necron being the final boss was a big screw you and just never made sense. They tried to explain it through the dialog and that kinda made sense.... but you have to have more than 2 minutes of text to build up a final boss. I usually tend to ignore him and count Kuja as the final boss.... maybe that's why I don't treat it as harshly for the Necron BS. Also "I loved" how the tag line for the game was "The crystal is back" and the dang thing doesn't even show up till like the final 20 seconds of the game.......... It's a shame too, since it's a really fun game.
