Or at least Bethesda does.
From Fallout 3.
Inside the Museum of Technology, the terminal to the right as you enter has Log Entrys from B. Bell, the research lead. The first one Log Entry 20770103 reads;
The virus that has been plaguing our Archetype Model FF06 Mainframe due to an unknown attack has finally been localized by our research team and identified. After a complete cleanup of the mainframe's core, I am happy to announce that the infection has been removed... the soul of this machine has improved.
B. Bell Research Lead.
the infection has been removed... the soul of this machine has improved.. is a line from the song Archetype, on the Fear Factory album Archetype, that came out I believe in 06.
From Oblivion
Inside Xirethard Subterrane, during the quest to replace Syl as the Count of Dementia, there's another tunnel you can go down just past where she is that has just enemies and treasure. One of these chests is named Dark Chest of Wonders and inside it contains a ring called Ring of the Oceanborn.
Dark Chest of Wonders is a song off the Nightwish album "Once" And Oceanborn is the name of perhaps their biggest album that contained Nemo and Walking in the Air.

Dude...there's tons of metal in videogames. I used to have this series "The Suffering" of horror-type games...in the first one in the prison there was a lot of Tool References like "I hope you choke" and "Suck you cry" and "Aenima" and **** on the walls. And in the 2nd game there was like a lot of baddies that reminded me of metal songs by like Tool, Nightwish, Metallica...freaking sweet.
And boy am I not surprised about the Dark Chest of Wonders lol I mean...Nightwish has so many songs/album titles that could be used for fantasy items/chest names...it's not even funny lol.
