The man who "invented" the solidbody electric guitar making all modern Rock and Metal possible died today at the age of 94 years old. He had a gibson model named after him and incorporating his "ideas". Legendary blues guitarist, innovator, and one of the three men who helped invent the Electric guitar and pickups as they exist today...is no longer with us. May he Rest in Peace.

The sad part is that this is going to be thrown under the bus within a couple days. Nobody's going to care in the media.
As they should though, especially in music. We would have NOTHING if it wasn't for this man. A true legend and pioneer.
RIP.

Indeed, without Les we wouldn't have these guys: Metallica, Sabbath, Elvis, Beatles, Disturbed, Bo Diddley, BB King, Frank Zappa, Led Zeppelin, virtually any non-pop music from 1940 or so ON! No Blues, No Metal, no ROCK! The electric guitar would not EXIST if not for this man teaming with Fender and Rickenbaker to help make the first pickups and electric guitars. They weren't pretty, they weren't even SELLABLE at first...but damnit, without him we wouldn't have JACK ****!
And they'll still be bitching about MJ in a month...Les is already thrown under the bus...where's his TV special? Where is his hours of news coverage? The sad thing is...all he got on CNN, Fox News and MSNBC and other news channels was a mention on the ticker and about a five second "oh he's dead"...even all the music channels are ignoring this...and they devoted DAYS to MJ...
Pisses me off...a true legend is ignored.

EVERYONE knows who Michael Jackson was, SOME people know who Les Paul was (or even knew if he was still kicking)... will he had a major impact, he's no MJ
