Yeah, amazing, I've had the album almost a month now, and haven't been around to tell you guys how badass it is.
A little background on Clutch and their music style first. They are basically what is lovingly known as Stoner Metal AKA Progressive Metal AKA Whatever you call guys who sing about mythology, Spacegrass, Yeti's and Red Horse Rainbows. They have an awesome bluesy style now, after the last album experimented they incorporated it into their more slow, death-metal like stoner rock and now, it's something I REALLY enjoy even more than before.
Album Artwork: Dude, just buy the album, it's freaking amazing! It's a sleeve-type of cardboard/paper that's very eco-friendly. Considering they are also on their own label now, they have done a lot to make the album artwork badass. The lyrics are on the backside of a Shiva-Like Abraham Lincoln poster...it's amazing. I mean, you know they are stoners when you see the album artwork blending wood cut-type ink paintings and Spaceships and Mythological/trippy stuff. It's pretty cool.
The Tracks:
Motherless Child: The acoustic/sliding intro turns into a pretty badass heavy riff. Great lyrics that make very little sense.
Best Lyric: My father tried to break me, my mother tried to raise. The county correct me, from my wild ways.
4/5 Blunts
Struck Down: One of the ones I don't like as much, tbh. It's pretty solid but it just doesn't speak to me that much, save the chorus.
Best Lyric: (Chorus) Keep calm and carry on, reefer madness quiets the falling bomb.
3/5 Blunts
50,000 Unstoppable Watts: Ok...the "single" with the video on youtube. One of my faves on the album. I'm sorry, but...the chorus is so simple, and trippy, and awesome. The riff kills, seriously, it's so amazingly awesome you have to hear it once.
Best Lyric: (Chorus) Anthrax. Ham Radio. And Liquor.
5/5 Blunts
Abraham Lincoln: Another of my favorite tracks. So slow, so melodious, so amazingly historical. The Slow Dirge drum intro that carries us through the song is amazing. The lyrical quality begs you to smoke the spacegrass they smoked for this album.
Best Lyric: The Assassin, the Coward, no grave for you. The Assassin, the Actor, no applause for you.
5/5 Blunts
Minotaur: This song is the "title track", I say that because, like the last album, they use a lyric from the "middle track" as the title. It happens to be the bridge/chorus of this song. It's another solid track.
Best Lyric: The City's always thriving, Hungry bellows of the Minotaur, Every Day more are arriving, and Every day it requires more.
3/5 Blunts
The Amazing Kreskin: Weird title, weirder track. It's very bluesy, with unintelligible lyrics that speak of society/homeless.
Best Lyric: The Garbage Eaters, their many retainers, Come to collect, our foul remainders.
3/5 Blunts
Witchdoctor: Another very bluesy/rock stoner track. Seriously, not my favorite, but it's got a good grove to it you can almost dance to...if you were like dancing as if at woodstock (the original).
Best Lyric: With Babylonian Passion they built a bridge to the sky.
3/5 blunts
Let a Poor Man Be: Another one of my favorite tracks. It just reminds me of Electric Worry in a way from their last album "From Beale Street to Oblivion". Subject Wise, it's speaking to a woman who did him wrong, literally, but metaphorically speaking it's talking about becoming a homeless man, living off scraps, etc. just to escape a life he dislikes.
Best Lyric: I'm going to build a castle out of Goodyear tires, Cinder-block and busted doors. That's where I'll retire. Gonna build a moat, fill it up with ale. Not much of a defense, I know, but the supply never fails.
4.5/5 Blunts
Freakonomics: I love this track. It's one of my favorite riffs, reminds me of Supernaut by Sabbath in a way. Very groovy, very awesome. Lyrically it's about the world end and how freaks know the answers (thus the title). It's got a lot that would make more sense to those who lived through the Cold War.
Best Lyric: (Chorus) If you didn't then well now you know. Outside is an army of Antlers! I hate to say it but I told you so. Only the freaks have all the answers!
5/5 Blunts
Algo Ha Cambiado (Something has Changed): Ok, the fact that it's all in Spanish confused me at first, but now I translated the lyrics and...this song has grown on me 200%. HOLY CRAP! These guys know what they are doing. It's a haiku...in Spanish...and the riff really helps. It's amazing. AMAZING!
Best Lyric: It's hard to say considering that it's like a haiku. Here's the link to the original and the translation. Original:www.metrolyrics.com/algo-ha-cambiado-lyrics-clutch.html

4/5 Blunts as it lost 1 for needing a translator to know what it means.
Sleestak Lightning: It's very bluesy, once again, I didn't care too much for the track riff wise though. I don't know why, it just doesn't speak to me as much as the others riff/beat wise. Lyrically it's about the sleaze that works in record industry/pop culture. Really great lyrics that speak of the current affairs.
Best Lyric: But I have a tazer and night vision goggles. Costco rolls of black duct tape.
3/5 Blunts
Overall Album Rating: 4/5 Blunts
Listen to the album all the way through to figure out why I used a rating in Blunts Seriously...Clutch is one of the few stoner rock bands most metalheads can get into.
