"People always wonder what the next step is. "Well, now that you've done that, what else will you do?" What do you have left to strive for when you've accomplished everything you think there is to do? Steve had that problem. Lance had that problem. The Hollands had that problem. It slowly strangles your ambition. Slowly putting holes in the tires until there's no more air and you can drive no further. You realize that there's nothing more you have to prove, there's nothing more you can strive for that you haven't already done. That's the difference between me and them. I don't see this World title as the final step of the ladder. I look at this and all I see is...
Opportunity.
This title doesn't mean I'm the best wrestler ever, it means I am the best wrestler this company has to offer right now. And even that is a matter of debate. That's why I will never give up walking my path. I will never lay down one day and not find the strength to get up again. I will wrestle until I'm no longer capable. I will defend this title until another man on another night takes it from me, not by my laziness, but by being.. better.. than.. me. Many men have used that as their catchphrase, I know, but it's much easier to speak..
Than to do.
Will Jason be the one to do it? Will Hammond? I don't know. The odds don't look good, but then again the odds aren't some all knowing factor. What I do know is that it's going to be a fight like they've never seen. Both of them know what I bring to the table, and that's the easy part. The hard part is overcoming the hurdle. One day I'll lose this title, but I can assure you..
I'll go down swinging."

(Falcon stood behind a curtain. From his vantage point, he could see the man at the podium, giving his introduction. Falcon was asked to come to this high school to give the students a standard lecture about saying no to drugs. Serenity stood beside him, fixing his tie. Falcon hated wearing a suit, but he was asked to "dress nice" for this.)
Serenity: You ready for this?
Falcon: I suppose.
Serenity: Where's your speech?
(Falcon had written a speech, then thrown it out, deciding just to "wing it". No pun intended.)
Falcon: I threw it out. I read it again.. and it felt.. superficial. I'm here to talk to these kids, not give them a chastizing lecture.
(She smiled.)
Serenity: Good. The world needs a bit more honesty.
(The Principals speech was about at it's end, and they stopped to listen.)
Principal: Without further ado, our guest speaker is a professional wrestler and the nCw World Champion, Falcon!
(The crowd erupted, either out of sheer boredom or actual fandom is up to debate. Falcon walked out on stage, shook hands with the principal, then approached the podium. He waited for the noise to die down, then stepped away, taking off the tie and the suit jacket, and rolling up his sleeves.)
Falcon: That's better. My name is Kyle Braddock, but I've been "Falcon" for about eleven years or so. I was asked to come here, to tell you all about the evils of drugs and drinking. But, I'm not going to disrespect your intellegence like that. You've been taught the dangers of binge drinking, the liver failure, and whatnot. You know the consequences of smoking. And all the dangers of narcotics. And if you still choose to ignore the risks and do them, well, that's your choice. So instead of just telling you what you should and should not do, I'm just going to tell you the only thing you should ever do is what you want to do. Don't smoke because your friends do. Don't drink just because they say you'll have a good time. If you want to do it, then do it. If you don't want to do it, then don't. It's that simple. The point is to always be who you want to be, and don't just settle for who people say you are. Nothing is out of reach if you try hard enough. I know that sounds like fortune cookie advice, but they wouldn't sell a million of those things if it wasn't true.
(Falcon pauses, looking offstage. Serenity is standing there, smiling, and giving a thumbs up. The Principal looks like the blood vessels in his neck are about to burst.)
Falcon: Oooook.. judging by the evil look I'm getting, I think I'm just about done. So, uhhh.. don't drink.. don't do drugs.. stay in school.. and all that stuff. I'm going to be here for most of the day, so hang around if you have any questions.
(Falcon walked offstage. The man looked about to strangle him.)
Principal: What the hell was that??
Falcon: What did you expect?
Principal: I don't know. Something positive? You're supposed to be a role model!
Falcon: Actually, no. You're supposed to be the role model. You are the voice of authority here. You're the one they are supposed to listen to. If you have to call me here, someone they only see on TV, then you've failed as a leader. That's a fact. Instead of blaming me, why don't you try being honest with these kids, like I just did?
(Falcon and Serenity just walked away, leaving the man standing there, his teeth and fists clenched with rage.)
Serenity: (whisper) I'm so hot for you right now...
Falcon: Later, darling.
(Falcon pushed the double doors open, stepping outside into the daylight. A multitude of wrestling fans were there, waiting....)
Falcon: This is what I live for...

"Now, I think you are finally starting to see how things work, Jason. You will emerge from this as a better man, maybe not a better man with the World title, but a better man nonetheless. You've finally realized that my whole purpose is to not just beat you, but to make you into the most impressive challenge you will live up to. I did the same thing for Steve Awesome, and it eventually led to a win over me. You, I'm working a bit harder on. But now I think you've finally got it. You finally understand what confidence is. Confidence in yourself is not just talking out of your ass. It's the...
Truth.
I'm so proud of you. You've come so far. It's a good thing to have Hope. It's a good thing to believe you can do anything. But, what kind of inspiration would I be if I didn't have another piece of advice to give you? 120%.. is not.. enough.. Jason. You've brought that against me before, and it didn't work. What you're going to have to do is find out how far you can go, and keep running. You don't need Hope... you need Desire. You need Ambition. You're going to need to dig down deeper than just your soul. That's what it's going to take. If you can't do that.. well..
Better luck next time.
As for Good ole Hammo over there, he's doing what he needs to do. Well, I hope he's doing that. He could very well just be driving around trying to get the euphoria out of his blood. If he's doing that, then well, he might as well not bother showing up. But, if this silence means he's training his ass off to get stronger, faster and tougher, than that's exactly what he needs. I could give him the confidence speech, but he doesn't need it. He may look unassuming on the outside, but inside Hammond knows what he can do. You can see it every time he steps into that ring.
Don't let me down, Hammy.
That would just be tragic."

I cannot ever find a way
To throw these darkened thoughts away
Need a place to hide
It's thrown in my face everyday
Guess that's the price I have to pay
For what's inside my mind
To throw these darkened thoughts away
Need a place to hide
It's thrown in my face everyday
Guess that's the price I have to pay
For what's inside my mind

Little things tempt me everyday
Cause I'm free is how I like to play
Better not cross that line
Voices in my head have this to say
It's something I can't throw away

I am alive
I will never run away
Places inside
My heart screams inside with pride
Once I cried
Now I wipe away the tears
Once I died
Now I'm alive
I will never run away
Places inside
My heart screams inside with pride
Once I cried
Now I wipe away the tears
Once I died
Now I'm alive
