The scene opens up inside of Joe Everyman's locker room. The National Championship is hanging over a very large, comfortable chair. But, Joe Everyman is no where to be seen. Instead, Maria Williams is sitting in the chair, opposite the one with the National title on it. Her feet are up on the coffee table between the chairs. Her sights are trained in on the belt. After a few moments, she puts her feet down and leans forward, putting her elbows on her knees, still trained in on the belt.
Maria Williams: This has had a long time coming. I haven't wrestled in any company if over two years. My first match was a handicap match, in the old Xtreme Hardcore Federation. I faced a man named CK Owens. He was very good in his own right, but Joe and I defeated him. The next week, I faced him alone and beat him again. But then, the next week after that, CK took me out while I was at ringside in his and Joe's match. I haven't wrestled since then. Our daughter was born, which sidelined any type of return. It has been nine months since then, and now, it's time for me to prove my worth.
The day the Women's Division was announced, I was giddy with excitement. It was finally my chance to show these others in nCw how it's done. You see, alot of these other female wrestlers have never stepped into the ring before. They are being brought in by their friends, their families, their husbands, anybody. Alot of them may or may not make it big here. You never really can tell this early in the game. But one thing that stands out about me is that I have shown my face in the ring before, and showed that I can not only wrestle, but I can pin male wrestlers in the ring too. Not once, but twice. Not a single one of these women can say they pinned a guy twice...except maybe Kelly Fox, I hear that's her specialty.
But, I digress. This Women's Championship was a great idea to start out our new division. Even with no experience, I'm sure alot of these women will be good in this tournament, be able to show off any skills they have. Alot of these gals have blood or rings to show them that they have what it takes. Blood relations to some wrestlers are good, because you can learn the same they learned. You can wrestle the same way they wrestle. Or some have rings. Being married to a wrestler is almost as good, because they can teach you anything in the ring. Joe, my amazingly talented husband, taught me more than I could hold for in ring skills. He taught me originally, and he has been training me since we heard about this tournament. We are both determined to have me win this title.
The first step of this tournament is going to be huge, because of one of my opponents. River Kane, the wife of the retired Spike Kane, is going to be in the ring with me. Joe and Spike have a huge history, so it's almost perfect that River and I have to go toe to toe the first week. Joe may hate Spike, but I respect alot of the things that he has done. He is a hall of famer, a former World Champion...some of that will have rubbed off onto River. He would have had to teach her a thing or two about wrestling over their marriage. She will be a big challenge, but it's a challenge I'm going to take head on. River, I am counting down the minutes until you and I step into the ring on Suspense.
But, there is another in our match. A...Cat Lady. I am honestly frightened by this women. She's rather large, night gown, curlers, cats, a lethal combination. She isn't like myself, or River. Nothing is known about her except for the fact that she loves her cats. She's that one person you want to make fun of, but you're not quite sure if she'll hurl a Molotov Catbomb at one of us. I honestly don't see her getting far in this tournament. She may put up a goo...a dece...an avera...a bad fight, and she'll proubly lose. As it should be. She can't possibly have the same wrestling skills as I, or the prestige that River does.
The way I see it is that this match will end the same way it will start. River Kane will still have a big background, and a good husband. The Cat Lady will still be an unknown hag, and I will still continue on with an undefeated record. Nobody in this tournament is threatening, nobody in this tournament is intimidating, and nobody in this tournament has any shot at winning besides me. Joe and I will be once step closer to being the first husband/wife holders of the National and Women's titles. We're just like Triple H and Stephenie, except I'm not sleeping my way to the top...we'll leave that to Adam Knite.
Maria then sits back in her chair and lightly laughs to herself as the camera fades out.
